    EXCEPTIONAL Value!!

I was in the process of upgrading our main bedroom television from an old Toshiba 40" HDTV, and I first purchased a Vizio 40" LED at Sam's club but after getting it home and trying it out for a few days; I was dissatisfied with the size not the television. Therefore, I returned it and once I saw that this Insignia 50" was at the same darn price I paid for the Vizio, and after reviewing the feedback which was majority positive, I took a chance. I do my researching before buying any electronic device and I had heard about this brand in the past but just never decided to purchase. I'm very glad I did so far. Not only does this size look huge in our bedroom (like being at the movies on a big screen ) but the overall features and picture resolution is exceptionally good looking; and if I had anything to complain about, the remote response signal needs to be a bit better and the audio sound is good when watching television but you will need a sound bar or speakers to upgrade the sound when using a Blu-ray DVD device, etc. which I did add some cheap but good sound computer speakers I already had not being use. I'm very pleased with this purchase from Best Buy and they extended to me excellent customer service. THANKS!!!!!!!!!

Let me start out with facts about this TV, It's not 4k but you should not buy 4k TV's at this size 50". However You should think about buying a 4k TV at 60" and larger sizes, why? Because you will not notice hardly at all 4k vs 1080p with 50" or smaller size TV's at your normal viewing distance. Normally people don't stand 3 feet from a TV. Normal viewing distance is around 12' to 18' feet from your TV. So this TV is bright enough, clear enough and sharp enough as any 1080p HD TV and has great contrast and black levels. This TV is all you will really need at this price and size especially for a bedroom, and even good for a living room space. I recommend this for the price, no need to spend more at this size of TV. You will not gain more by buying 4k. Again 4k is for TV's of 60" and larger sizes to notice the 4k difference at normal viewing distances. And 4k is not worth $100 more at this size of TV. You will not notice the difference at this size.

Software update made my TV unusable - DO NOT BUY

In the interest of being fair, I will say that this TV is a great product at a great price (when it works). The Roku functionality makes it super easy to use from a user experience perspective, and the picture quality is better than average in this price range. HOWEVER, I will never again buy an Insignia TV, nor should you. In the beginning of November 2018, a software update was deployed automatically that caused an issue with the sound quality and also made the internet connection highly unstable. When I turn on the TV, the sound is muffled. To fix the issue, I have to got to the settings window, change the sound mode, then change the sound mode back to "Normal" and the sound is back to sounding fine. As for the Internet connection, it constantly drops while watching streaming services. I have a great fiber connection to my house and an excellent router setup, and have confirmed that the issue is not with my home internet connection. But still, a few times a day the connection drops, and I need to unplug the TV to reset the connection. I have been working with Insignia support for over a month on this, with promises that a software update would come out to fix the issues. Every update that has come out since then has not fixed the issue. I'm still waiting for it to be resolved. This TV is eight months old. It should not be having these issues. Insignia will not replace it despite being within the warranty period. As I said before, DO NOT BUY THIS TV.

Purchased this as a gift for my elderly mother at Christmas. She doesn't have wi-fi, but even if she did, I wouldn't have sprung for a ROKU model, since those generally cost $100 more, and a ROKU unit costs only $29.99. (Why pay $100 more for a TV with built-in ROKU that is locked inside the set, when you can spend only $29.99 for a stick you can carry around and plug in to any TV you like?) We hooked up this new TV while the family was gathered for the holiday celebration, and literally EVERYONE there was impressed. Several visited Best Buy's site to check out the specs, and they expressed amazement at the value for the money. From a personal perspective, the biggest surprise to me was the sound quality of the built-in speakers. I had anticipated the need to purchase a soundbar, but the sound is so good in Mom's den that a soundbar is probably unnecessary. (Of course, your mileage may vary.)

I needed a new garage/man-cave TV after my old 46" Mitsubishi 1080 series projection died. I didn't need anything fancy, just wanted an HD 50" with minimal features. It's not a 4k TV, and the picture is slower than the Sony in my living room, but then again this thing wasn't $1000. This is a good bedroom, patio, work, and garage tv that doesn't break the bank. The only negative thing I have to say is the speakers just don't provide enough volume in a loud area. You'll probably want a sound bar at a minimum if you intend to use it outdoors. It does have an audio output, a digital optical output, and an ARC HDMI port, so you can hook just about any speaker system you want to it. I scored an older Klipsch promedia 2.1 speaker system for dirt cheap and the TV sounds great now.....even in my noisy garage

    BUYER BEWARE!!

I purchased an "Open Box" 50" Insignia TV online. When I received my TV it came with no remote and DID NOT include the screws to fasten the 2 legs to the TV. No where in the item description did it mention that those items would not be included. I didn't mind the missing remote so much but was really upset about the missing screws. (I mean seriously, how can you not include such an important thing like the hardware to attach the legs?) When I called my local Best Buy they were unable to help me because the TV was purchased as an "open box" online and didn't come from that store. My only option was to bring the TV into the store and get my money back or exchange it for something else. This was not an option for me as I don't drive and was the reason I purchased online to begin with. All I wanted and needed was 4 little screws. The TV DOES work just fine but I will seriously have second thoughts about ever making another purchase online for an open box item. If you do ever plan on purchasing an open box item, go to your local store instead of buying it online. at least that way you know what you are getting without any surprises.

I bought this TV as a gift for my daughter. Well I guess Technology has been upgrading so fast I have not caught up as of yet. I say the ad for this TV, saw the excellent reviews and good price along with the 1080p which used to be Da Bomb but the words “used to” make it big difference in electronics. I imagined for the price and rating I did well. Nope! I found out that I could get twice the TV in the gadgets & gizo’s. Not the actual picture Quality which according to the reviews you couldn’t get much better. You also couldn’t get WiFi streaming or any other kind of streaming. No blue tooth no wireless connections whatsoever. This beautiful new TV did not hook up onto the internet. Lord have mercy you mean this is solely a Great TV? So after about a 3 second conference with my sweet wonderful wife off I went to bestbuy to get a “smart TV” Same price and lots of other stuff and a TV. From what I have heard It’s So Cool & does so much. I said to my self Job Well Done.

Even at 60Hz it does great with intense FPS games. While watching sports there is no pixelation in high action scenes. The clarity is outstanding as well as the color. I like that there are preset options for what you’re about to watch (calibrations) on the picture. It really enhances your view. Test this picture quality out on Netflix with “Planet Earth 2.” My tv isnt hanging on the wall. So the sound isnt an issue. At around volume 26 its loud enough. Geeksquad extended plans are what keep me shopping at Best Buy. You get rid of having to deal with people over the phone. I used to work for best buy, so I understand specs on tv’s.

tv has a great picture for the price, main problem is with the audio. The first tv i had kept having issues with the timing of the talking and sound, it would start of fine and after a few hours it would start being off. tried adjusting the "delay option", with no help. had to turn tv off and on to have it back to normal. and this happened constantly so i called and they told me to return it to best buy. So i exchanged it for another of the same model and this one had the same exact problem. i cant imagine another call to best buy is going to help anything but i am going to try again but i do not have the money to upgrade to another tv so i guess i am stuck with the problem.

    Audio Sync is off

We purchased this tv about two weeks ago, and found that with verizon fios that the audio lip sync is totally off, and on some channels it's worse than others.. and on DVR it's worse than on live tv. Our old Vizio had zero problems with this (same set box). We did research and tried adjusting the the 'audio delay' but there is not one audio delay between 1-100 setting that fixes it perfect, and from channel to channel or DVR show it changes ridiculously. We also tried to turn off 'pass through', and still it's awful. The tv has been good for gaming on PS4 though. But I am upset, and considering returning it (problem is I already mounted it on the wall (does not come with screws for mounting).

So the woman who spawned me need a new Add portal because the one she had, well failed. With hundreds of mind controlling optic enhancers on the market, it can be hard to pick a good one that doesn't 1. drain your credits to much and 2. has a acceptable optic quality. She didn't "Need" a smart visual cyber portal and I found a larger 50" INSIGNIA LED 1080-HDTV for $300 less than a "smart" led with a 42" screen. O.o really? More for less? I'll buy that for $323 cartel coins! But wait! There's more! If I purchase it on BEST BUY .com I save another $75 jingle bells? SWEET! So for a total of $248 earth coin dear Mumsy has a Mega 50" beautiful TV with an AMAZING PICTURE! I was quite pleased. Saved

I bought this for my in-laws. They did not need anything fancy as they are in their 80's. Needed something better than the 32 inch they had in their living room so they would not have to squint. Tried to talk them into 55", but they said 50, so that is what I got. Was a little sceptical because I caught it on sale at a good price, but did some research and decided to give it a shot. They love the picture quality and sound. Would highly recommend for those who are looking for a basic TV, which is getting hard to find since most all TV'S are going smart.

A thunderstorm wiped out my old TV, which was a different brand. We already bought 3 other Insignia TV's and love them. So it was a no brainer to buy another. My last TV was a 43" and this 50" fits the room better. I absolutely love this TV. It has a great picture. The sound is unbelievable. I think the volume goes to 40, but normally I have it at 10-12 and that's plenty. I honestly can't imagine why anyone would buy more expensive TV's. You just can't beat the quality for the price.

This TV replaced a 32" Sony that I had purchased around 15 years ago for about $750. It's absolutely amazing to me that I could purchase a TV of this size and quality for 1/3 of the price I paid back then. I don't need a fancy TV. I don't do gaming. I mainly watch movies and a couple of favorite TV shows that I stream each week. I have enough smart gadgets in my apartment, so I don't need a smart TV, and this one is just smart enough. It's a very basic model, and it does very basic things very well. If your needs are like mine, you will love this TV.

Picture quality on this TV is great! I was skeptical considering it was under $300, but after having it for 2 weeks I realize that my mother's living room needed a new TV and I had the perfect TV for her too. I'm okay considering the fact that it is not a SMART TV, because the Blu-ray connected had all the features I need. Sounds quality isn't the best, but nowadays most manufacturers are not considering the best audio considering sound bars are available now. So I complemented this TV with a Samsung sound bar too.

I will say the strong point of this model tv is the picture. The picture is super clear 1080p that is near 4k in quality. The settings are very basic but they are enough to get a good solid picture with great color, brightness and backlight. The sound is weird. People talking will be loud but background music when watching gets LOUD. I tried using different sound settings to adjust this problem but know luck so I just live with it. That's about it. No special features with this tv. It is a basic 50" tv

I upgraded to this tv from a 27 inch ive been using for the last 9 years. So far the tv's great. The size is impressive. The sound is good depending on which mode set it in. The picture quality is amazing for my when i am playing my xbox. However watching tv the picture is grainy and quality is not as impressive as my older tv. I suppose i should invest in an hd antennae which would probaly fix the problem. All in all i like the tv a lot, i got it for console gaming and movies, so far i am a happy customer.

We were hesitant to purchase an Insignia TV since we had never heard of the brand and did not know about the quality of their products. We viewed the TV in the store and thought it would be O.K. for our application. We installed the TV on our lanai so that we could watch it from the pool. Reflection had been bad on our old TV and the Insignia screen had a lot less reflection than the one it replaced. The picture quality, color and sound are very good. In general we are very satisfied with our choice.

At less than $230 for a 50' inch TV, this is one of the best buys around. Since more and more people have a Fire Stick, Google Stick or Roku, it is not necessary to pay extra for a "smart" TV. The picture is of very good quality. The legs are at the very ends so you either need to hang it on the wall or have a very long stand. My previous TV had a center stand, which is more practical. I am disappointed with the USB plug, since you can only use it for photos, not for music or video files.

The 55- and 65-inch models also tout a "120Hz clear motion index," but as usual, that's a made-up number. The 6 series has a 60Hz native panel and can't match the motion performance of true 120Hz TVs, like the Vizio P-Series, Samsung Q8 and Sony X900F. The exception is the 50 inch size, which has a true 120Hz panel. The result should be better motion performance, although we weren't able to test that size for this review to confirm. As usual, however, the benefits should be pretty subtle.
