I have owned my Insignia Flex 8 Android Tablet about two months. It is an easy-to-use, basic Android tablet. Color resolution and clarity are very good. Sound quality is not Bose/Bang-Olafsen level but it is somewhat better than average for a tablet (use with a Bluetooth speaker for greater listening pleasure). Screen loads are reasonably fast for standard use but may not be considered impressive by serious gamers. Users of all ages should find this tablet is great and reliable for general use. I bought this as a replacement when my original tablet finally stopped working and I have been very satisfied with my purchase. What I didn't anticipate was how convenient it would be to have my tablet syncing with my smartphone (my previous tablet was not Android). It made setup of the Insignia much easier as most of the apps on my phone were added to the tablet in moments. Synchronizing of my calendar is quick and easy, also. The only reason I give this 4 out of 5 stars is that it is not a large storage/muscle tablet that I would use as my primary computer. That said, I did not buy it for use as my all-around computer. If it were possible to award half stars, I would add a half star (or even 3/4 star) to give it a higher rating.

I purchased two Insignia tablets and within one month the charger wouldn't stay in and the tablet wouldn't hold a charge even when the cord was held in place. The tablet was slow and didn't work well.

I love this tablet! I'm using it to write this review! It's my first one. I bought it on sale for $70 but would definitely pay the full price of $100. The battery lasts quite sometime even though it does take a while to charge. It is very reliable and easy to use. My only complaints are that it takes quite a bit to turn on and the front facing camera is not a great quality. For the price this is a great tablet! Just be aware that it's larger than most 8" tablets and the universal 7-8" cases don't seem to work with it. I would suggest getting a case made specifically for it, which I got on eBay for pretty cheap.

I really like this tablet. Its so easy to use, lots of cool apps, perfect size to take with you, plenty of space for memory and storage. The price is great too and you can add more storage in the cloud. I recommend this tablet to any one.

Considering I have several tablets, Samsung and some high end ones. I knew not to expect anything grand from this tablet. When it's on sale for $80 or so its very worth the money, normal $100 price its not bad. This is a great tablet for simple things, watching movies, playing games etc and that's exactly why I bought it. Also to have extra storage or whatever you need. IF you need high performing results, don't expect it. The battery life when Wifi is on + combined while playing say, clash of clans will drain the battery in a matter of 2 hours if not less. Its a power hog. So my use is, keep it at home, use wifi in short periods and mostly have stuff downloaded on it to play games or watch videos etc. Sometimes the wifi is iffy, it's not that it loses connection, it's more or less that is seems to have trouble with data transfer on certain games (buffering, lagging etc). So get it on sale for $80 or so, and expect an average tablet that will do a lot of basic things and most medium tasks. But if you want crisp graphics/video, long lasting battery you should invest in a $300 tablet.

I purchased this for my nephew (he is 'challenged') who is very hard on tablets, and does not want to keep them in a cover or case. He is able to access Youtube and the weather with ease, has had no issues with performance or freeze-ups. Tablet is super easy to navigate and use. He has actually managed to keep this one up and running longer than some of the other brands that we have tried. I will say that I had to replace the cord already due to breakage (after a month), but so far the tablet has held up. He 'let' me play with it for a few minutes this weekend (mostly because I had to use my charger to charge it) and I did note that it is not super fast as far as search results, but it gets the job done. I have recommended this tablet to my sister-in-law and she got a 10" Insignia for herself and is happy with tablet as well.

I bought an Insignia tablet for my 94 year grandmother about a year ago. She loved it. When it broke, I bought a different name tablet to replace my grandma's tablet -- but it was hard to use, had bland colors, and slow processing. So I found this Insignia this tablet for her. I'm really pleased. It's easy to set up and use. The colors are vivid. It's fast. It has a card slot. It has all the features that we were looking for in a tablet. I'm very pleased!

This is a great tablet for most things - games, email, browsing, Netflix, etc. Not super fast, but fast enough. The micro SD card slot is great if you run out of space for apps, photos, etc. We love that it has both a front and rear camera. A little heavy but better than being cheap and flimsy feeling. There are some protective cases out there to be purchased also. Haven't tried to Skype or anything like that yet. Great tablet, especially for the great price. Oh, and speakers aren't bad either, decent volume.

I much prefer Google Maps to any dedicated Nav Device. However I was becoming weary of the interference between using nav and phone at the same time when guidance commands overlapped conversation. I mounted this on my dash, fired up the hotspot on my phone, and have the biggest brightest Nav you could ever want. Where else can you get a full function 8 inch nav for $60. ...with lifetime maps and traffic...and if overlaid with Ulysse Speedometer Pro it's even more awesome. And as a standalone tablet I am very impressed with its speed and stability. It is nearly as responsive as my Nexus 10. And with an SD card it has become a thumb drive with viewing and editing capabilities. Can't go wrong with this one.

When my previous tablet finally stopped working, I did what most people seem to do these days - I went to the Internet to search for a replacement tablet. I read reviews of the Flex 8 at various sites, including Best Buy's collection of reviews. The Flex 8 is pleasantly responsive in almost all senses. It quickly synchronized with my Android phone, required almost no set-up steps or registration, and even charged faster than expected (for an initial charge). Battery life is reasonable: a full charge seems to last for most of my normal day. If I run the battery level down to about 30%, recharging takes about 2 hours to complete. Searching via Chrome is sufficiently fast although not dazzling. Most screen loads are quickly done (or at least a lot faster than my old tablet loaded). This is true whether launching an app, reading a book, or surfing the Internet. I like the clarity and color of the screen and the speakers are decent for a thin tablet. Sound quality is not at a Bose or Bang & Olufsen level but the thin sound typical of a thin tablet is nothing that can't be compensated for by an auxiliary plug-in or Bluetooth speaker or headphones. My previous tablet was a 4-year-old device that was significantly heavier compared with the Flex 8. I really, really appreciate the much lighter weight of the Flex 8! I rarely stream movies or play online games as challenging as The Elder Scrolls and Pillars of Eternity, I can't comment (agree or disagree) with gamers who feel the Flex 8 is speed-wise adequate but not able to meet their more extreme gaming demands. My new Flex 8 more than meets my current tablet needs and the price (at either full or sale price) can't be beat!

I purchased this mainly to blog and manage my online store. It is perfect for navigating the Internet, using apps, music, and games. I will say this the Camara quality sucks. But overall I'm happy with the purchase because my intentions weren't to use as a camara. My intentions where for navigation and gaming and she does the job. It is very light weight and fits perfect in my messenger bag which is perfect.

This is a great replacement for the original Samsung 7" tablet. Way faster and lots more memory. The only problem is there are almost NO accessories designed specifically for this tablet. After being told there is no folio cover for it (I would have to get a generic with ports covered, etc) in the store when I bought it. I found 1 on eBay that was designed for this tablet, all the speaker, charging and camera holes were in the right place. Then after I paid $10 for one on eBay I did find one on Best Buy for $30. I would have gladly paid $30 if the sales people knew Best Buy had one. It still bothers me there is no 'bumper' case available anywhere, I spent hours looking.

Great tablet when found on sale for rock bottom price, otherwise a good tablet. A little heavy but big screen and fairly fast. Camera lacking but don't intend to use much anyways.

Nice tablet, great picture, good battery life, but the charging port is already loose and we've only used it about 4 weeks - this unit is for my 6-year old, but I am usually the one that plugs it in to charge... Also, won't pick up a Blu Tooth device for which it was specifically purchased, but don't know if that's a tablet issue or not... will update once both issues are resolved.

Good resolution and speed, easy to hold, Lollipop OS. Much better than I expected for a $100 tablet.

I think this is a great bargain for the price. It's fast and it's efficient for the size and storage.

This is an upgrade from a 7" insignia. The size is great. Color is perfect looking just like one of those top brasnd products. Works great space is sufficient. Only wish they would package them with an ear piece. Overall loving my tablet!

I bought 2 of these for a great price for my twins. The tablets have a lot of space, which allows more room for game apps. The 8 inch screen is larger than average tablets or kid tablets. So they love the tablets. However, there is a down side to the product. With the Insignia, we found that once you switch to a new game, the old game is still running in the background. This eats up the charge, draining the battery quickly and pretty soon the tablet can't hold a charge like it first did. I constantly go into the tablets to manually close down open apps. My son's tablet seems to drain from 100% to 0 within an hour these days. Now, my kids are sitting by an outlet so they can maintain a charge while playing. I had to replace one tablet after a month and it appears I may have to replace the other one soon. Fortunately, the warranty allows us to get a new one with no questions asked. I'll keep it going but just wanted to forewarn you if you do purchase the tablet.

A little slow starting up as others also report, and basic apps, but easier for beginners with nice case a plus. Battery life could always be better, but not too different from many of the rest at this price point. Definitely met my needs, so hope it lasts!

Nice tablet for the price. Tried several others but return them due to poor quality. So far this one works well and is responsive to touch. Battery life is better than expected. Just takes a long time to respond restarting once it is shut down.
