Customers love the Roomba 960's cleaning performance, especially on carpets and hardwood floors, and appreciate its ease of use. Many find it effective for pet hair removal, and while some mention the noise level, others find it acceptable. However, customers frequently cite navigation issues and a small dustbin as drawbacks, along with concerns about battery life.

Does well on carpets and tile. Also can clean bath mats without sucking them up. Although it does get stuck sometime on the scale or underneath a couch corner or cabinet. If you have pets, periodically remove the rollers and clean them out as well as the area behind the dust bin.

Max the Supermutt (whom we both love dearly) should be bald the way he sheds, so Roomba gets lots of work at our house! I wasn't sure a robotic vac would do the job, but over the past 18+mos, we've been very pleased. I like that it can go underneath the beds and some furniture. I have the house broken down into 3 zones that get vacuumed 1-2 times a week. Roomba is easy to control with the app. The dust bin does fill up quickly and needs to be emptied, and some regular maintenance (cleaning, changing filters, etc.) is required, but the trade-off in convenience is worth it.

I LOVE MY NEW TOY, (SHAKIRA this is my IRobot name) so far, best purchases ever, it's great. work fantastic, saving me a lot of time and pain, I have a big house with all floor, after you finish do it yourself your back is in pain, also is saving me money something I pay to clean my house and because the reason of my floor I WAS paying to much. The only reason I don't give a 5 stars is because do not clean my carpet. and get stuck with a very thin carpet, maybe if this will do both carpet and floor will be the best purchase of my life, but I have to buy a vacuum for my carpet. people are asking oh your floor look so shine what are you mopping with, WITH NOTHING I only put Shakira to work and the floor looks like a million dollar cleaning.

    If you have indoor pets...

... then you should really appreciate the 960 robot vacuum. With the start cleaning time set with the app it makes a good alarm as well. We hardly vacuum with the any other vacuum since the robot cleans everyday. If there is one thing that would really make the robot the ultimate machine it would be having an automatic bin cleaning function. Then the only time it would need attention is when it sucked up a cat toy. This machine is great in our home, with hardwood floors and carpet, the pet hair is no longer a major problem.

    Ichabod to the Rescue

I named my robot Ichabod because "he" does a spectacular job of scooping up what looks like my dog's entire coat every day but gets "no glory" - the origin of the name. I was convinced to get this model from the first few ratings, but especially by several mentioning its efficiency in dealing with pet hair. I have a Basset Hound - notorious shedders - and wish I could have had Ichabod in charge for the four that came before her. The two of them have even become good friends. Izzie follows Ichabod until "he " does an about turn and then runs away till "he" turns again so there is an added bonus of exercise for her. Don't hesitate if dog hair is driving you crazy. The iRobot is your friend, whatever you name him or her!

    Great option for between vacuuming

Very helpful between normal vacuuming. Does not like fringes on rugs or shoe strings. Attention required to area before irobot starts. If any fluid on floor ( spilled drink or hidden animal accident) will spread over area being cleaned. Do not recommend leaving the first couple times used, I found a couple of items under couch it got caught on. Overall, has been very helpful in keeping up with kids and dogs.

We upgraded from an earlier model roomba. We have had the vacuum for about 6 weeks. It seems to be an improvement from our older roomba. My only complaint so far is the dustbin seems to be smaller so we have to empty it more often.

Ridiculously expensive. But it works well. Only Reason for 4 stars, it gets stuck under coffee table and side table. This could be helped by using the beacon thing, but the configuration of the room makes that hard as it would then leave a gap in cleaning. But I really like it.

Extremely simple. Just install the app and it walks you through everything. Had a different brand of robot before and wasn't anything as good as this one. I set it to run at night and when I wake up my entire first floor is good to go. And that's with a cat AND dog.

The vacuum does very well. Easy to setup and get into operation. We did need to pick up some rugs...if the rugs are not heavy they tend to get picked up on the corners and may stop the vacuum from continuing to operate.

We have been using ours for a week now, and for the most part we are happy. We got it because our 9 month old is now more mobile, and was able to find all the dust we missed in the corners. We were surprised how much it was able to find, and are generally happy with it. So far, it hasn't made it back to the charger once without being told to. It's always dying somewhere in our place. Also wish it integrated more with Alexa, and you could set it to clean a specif area on a map. Maybe that is an option once it maps out the house, if it even does that. They show images of a house map, but I haven't seen that on the app yet. We shall see.

I was hesitant about getting a robotic vacuum as consumer magazines and other reports commented that they were not as efficient at vacuuming as a regular vacuum. So, why waste your money? Still my wife wanted one and everyone we knew that had one loved it. Well, we love our little vacuum robot "Robbie" and were amazed at how much material he picked up right after we had cleaned the house. Every time we use him he finds more dirt and he leaves the carpet looking freshly vacuumed. What amazed me is how smart he is in plotting out obstacles and reaching all over the house through doorways, under tables, under beds, and around corners. Robbie is now one of the family. Obviously we are happy with our purchase and if you have funds for such a buy, we believe you will be really pleased as well.

Helpful with young crawling kids. Auto cleans in the middle of the night. Does a good job switching from carpet to hardwood. Tends to get stuck on the legs of the Bart stool chairs

    Good first robot vacuum

This was my first experience with a robot vacuum. I have a large area with kitchen and living-room combined and a golden retriever who hangs out in the kitchen. The directions say that it takes several times for the robot to learn the area so I am reviewing this based on over a month’s use. The battery isn’t strong enough to do the job on one charge so this means it goes back to the base, takes over an hour to recharge and then resumes. It doesn’t follow any recognizable pattern as it cleans. It also requires you to empty and then clean out the dust bin and filter which is very small. I purchased a Shark robot that empties itself and has a much longer charge as well as a pattern that makes sense on the floor. I will take this smaller robot to my cottage.

I purchased this unit for my wife as our entire downstairs is tile. Much to my surprise, it does a very, very good job cleaning debris. She runs it everyday and everyday the entire collection tray is full. She especially likes being able to control it from her phone. It navigates most obstacles without issue. It does take a week or so for it to "learn" the rooms, but after that you see it clean much more efficiently without bumping into so many things. The only negative I can report is since it is wide, it won't fit in between kitchen chairs or bar stools. We just flip them up and problem solved.

This has been an excellent addition to our home. We have 2 large dogs, and 2 kids under 5, so having a helper keep up on the hair and crumbs is a treat. It can do our lower floor easily, and is quiet enough thst running it at 2am doesn't bother anyone.

My wife really likes the Roombq 960. She has already recommended it to most of our friends. I also think it does anpretty good job cleaning and navigating around the house. We use this roomba for our entire main floor (a mix of tile and wood floor with two decent sized rugs). That is a total of 3 large rooms. We used the provided gizmo to block off the dining room due to the rug we have there. The roomba simply gets overwhelmed. What would make this robot great for me is a larger trash bin (much larger) and a more advanced app that has push notifications. A normal one pass cleaning for our main floor is about 850 square feet. To cover this much area we have to empty the trash bin 3 times!! I understand that we have a large dog that sheds a lot bit the trash container is tiny. As far as the app, it will be nice to get a notificqtion on your phone when the eobot is waiting for you to empty the bin or when it completes the job.

This has been a good purchase. I'd give it 5 stars but the maintenance on the side brush is a bit much. If you have long haired people and pets. The hair can stop the brush motor. IRobot was good was replacing damaged part. Once we figured out that we need to remove the brush to clean it things have been great.
