Customers are saying

Customers love the Roomba 960's cleaning performance, especially on carpets and hardwood floors, and appreciate its ease of use. Many find it effective for pet hair removal, and while some mention the noise level, others find it acceptable. However, customers frequently cite navigation issues and a small dustbin as drawbacks, along with concerns about battery life.

    Good but not perfect.

Let me just start off by saying this is not just a toy. It does do a far better job than you would typically do vacuuming by yourself. With that being said...is it possible for this to do a whole 2000sq ft? Yes, but it takes awhile. I have a1900sq ft ranch and it took about 7 hours because it had to recharge 3-4 times. I actually ended up taking it back and exchanging it for the 980. The 980 does def have better battery life. The carpet boost is nice too but does suck the battery life down faster. Something to note on both models is that if you have any dark area rugs these have trouble distinguishing the dark color of that and the edge of steps and won't go up on them. There are cliff sensors on the bottom that stop it and recognize dark stuff as a cliff. Small design flaw but def something that should be kept in mind.

I purchased this model for my son and daughter-in-law who had a lower model Roomba on their Christmas list. I did a lot of research and realized that the 960 or high models had mapping capacity and allowed for greater ease of use. On Black Friday I found this Roomba at Best Buy and it truly was a "best buy". The feedback from my daughter-in-law included multiple thank yous. They have a small short hair dog in the house and this Roomba has already proven to be a winner with picking up pet hair. It has made a big improvement on their home and has helped with one family member who has a mild pet allergy. All good! I can't wait to get a Roomba for my house.

    Great robot vacuum

This is our first robot vacuum. He does a great job moving from wool area rugs in living areas to anti-fatigue mats and bare tile floors in the kitchen. He does well around furniture and along walls. We have him programmed to automatically run every other day on the main floor which is four large rooms. We track a lot of beach sand in the house which is no problem for him. A little noisy but quite a bit less than our upright vacuum. The small dustbin needs to be emptied everyday because it fills up with wool rug fibers. We have been using this roomba for about a month and are very happy with the purchase.

Love this product! The app is easy to use and cleans my 1800 square foot house on one charge! Easily navigates between rooms although I would recommend not leaving shoe laces untied on the floor as they can easily get sucked up into the vacuum. Also would recommend to empty it frequesntly as the tray fills up quickly if you have any pets

The machine works really well. The only draw back is the garbage storage capacity. With dogs in the house it fills up at least once a day. The price is a little steep. Overall, good buy.

Easy setup and great customer service. Does an outstanding job. Just make sure obstructions, like lamp cords are tucked away. The more you use it, the smarter it gets.

This Vacuum cleans great and with the auto start feature you can be assured that your home is cleaned. the only fault I had with it is the bin is too small. which will prevent the vacuum from completing it's job if you are not around.

This is my second Roomba 960 after having purchased one two years ago. That one is holding up very well and still in use. I added a second because I was so happy with the first and now have two housecleaners! It picks up dirt and dog hair very well and is good at working in, around, and under furniture on both carpeted and tile floors. The only maintenance I have had is a new filter after about 18 months and new rollers after 2 years. It gets a heavy workout covering our 2000 sq foot home. One was doing the job but I added the second to cut the time in half. I highly recommend and would purchase gain (in fact I did.)

Much better than my old 600 series. Pro: Cleans much more efficiently in straight lines than random movements. It is about 10 db less in noise. Has more sensors to prevent it bumping into objects hard. Much improved cleaning bin and filtration. Con: It has imprint mapping but it is easily confused with customizable mapping. And the language makes it confusing that customizable mapping uses imprint but is not the same. This model does not have customizable mapping and this I had to work around the problem with purchasing additional virtual walls. Which at that price point should have just gotten the i7.

I know friends that love theirs, but this is still a "Toy". If you don't lift things up, it will go around them. If you don't pick up chairs around a dining table, it won't get it all cleaned. It also closed a closet door by bumping into it and got stuck in the walk-in closet.

I looked at review after review for this model as well as others. Most reviews are positive and the results we’ve experienced are awesome as well. This unit cleans our entire first floor. This includes a Pergo living/dining room, a tile kitchen which is approximately 1/2” higher than the Pergo, a carpeted bedroom, a tile entry way which is also higher than the Pergo, two bathrooms and a hallway. We have three animals which was the reason we needed an IRobot Roomba. We don’t have to come home from work and vacuum. Nothing is perfect, but I wouldn’t trade this for anything. The dirt container should be cleaned out after each use.

This Roomba was a great deal during the Black Friday Sales. I love how it vacuums in rows versus random paths like most others. This will even map out your house and and continue where it left off when the battery is low. It will charge itself and resume cleaning until the whole floorplan is done. The only downfall was that it does require some light to work properly. There are multiple cameras on the unit so it only makes sense that light is needed. No worries for me as I timed my lights to come on during the cleaning schedule. Will buy another for my upstairs soon.

This is my second Roomba, my last purchase was about 5 years ago. They have improved significantly with respect to 1) overall cleaning, 2) battery life 3) consistently returning to station, and 4) avoiding obstacles, including extension cords. If you are comparing it to how you can clean with a top level conventual vacuum, then sure it won't do as well. But, it still does very well and do you move all of your furniture? Are you able to vacuum under your bed? I can use this twice a week because it takes no effort, and feel like our home is consistently cleaner (as opposed to one goo vacuuming a week if my wife or I have to do it manually. One month or so in- I am thrilled with the performance.

I love my Rhoomba but the battery doesn’t last as long as I’d hoped it would. It has to go and charge before finishing a job. When it does clean, it does a great job.
