I am so happy about my product. I can operate this remotely and get my house cleaned while I'm at work. not big differences from it's other comparable products but I've noticed that this follows a good path and does it's job thoroughly unlike some of the others that runs around in a cluster and confuses itself. this is one time saving, intelligent robot which can get things done and it's noise while you're away. :) :)

    Roomba works great!

I've had several older Roomba's over the years. These new ones have a camera to detect objects and have came a long way with tracking it's progress and cleaning. The app setup was a bit tricky at first but afterwards works flawlessly. There are somethings I wish the bot would do. When it's bin gets full it will stop and stay in its position waiting for you to empty it. If your not home for the day you may come home to a dead battery in your roomba and it can't complete the cleaning until it recharges. I think it should return home for any necessary maintenance so that it may charge while waiting for your assistance. Otherwise this gadget works great. I'm amazed at how much dust or debris it can find on a daily basis. I usually let it run around the entire downstairs which is only about 1100 sf. Roomba usually cleans this area without having to recharge and continue. I've already purchased a second one for upstairs!

    Changed My Life

This iRobot is the best purchase I have made in my 50 years on earth. It has changed my life and is better at reducing stress than any medication. This is not hyperbole. The thing is amazing. I come home to lines in my carpet. Do you know how happy that makes me?? I don’t have to stress over my daughter making a mess on the kitchen floor or the dog dragging in grass. Sid ( my Roomba) will take care of it while I’m gone. I bought this 900-level version over other/lower versions for several reasons: the “recharge” feature and the no-tangle rollers are two primary things that I wanted. When the battery runs down, Sid returns to the docking station, recharges, then resumes cleaning the house where he left off. The no-tangle rollers are a must for a household with women with long hair and a pet. This version also cleans multiple rooms and uses a grid pattern, so I get nice lines in my carpet, not random messiness. The recharge feature is a big deal. It takes a second charge for my 1500 sq ft house. And like I said earlier, the lines from the grid pattern make me happy because I’m obsessive that way. The only negative is that there are a couple of spots in the house that Sid perceives as “cliffs.” One of them is a portion of an area rug. So I put something over that spot so he goes around it. Some people say it doesn’t replace a regular vacuum, but they must have a killer vacuum because it DOES replace it for me.

I used to think that I was doing a great job cleaning my house and that my floor and carpet were clean. WRONG! After the first vacuum there were so much debris, dirt, even creatures leaving in my carpet. I couldn't believe how dirty my house was, I have carpet in the bedrooms and family room and now I can even sleep on the carpet. Now you still need to do work in keeping the area organize so the Roomba can move freely without getting stuck. I would recommend cleaning the house room by room. I moved all the furniture so it don't get stuck. Then trash bin will get full very quick so empty it out and resume until job is completed, do this as many times as you need it until no more dirt is in the bin. After that your entire house should be clean the bin won't get full as fast as before. Enjoy your new clean house!

we love the Roomba and frankly it has better vacuum than our stand up. picks up all the dirt fabulous. sure wish they advanced it a bit further though. It makes a map of its work area, but all you can do is look at the map...it would be worth the price tag if you could touch the map to bring the roomba to a specific location. otherwise its 2 hours of non stop vacuuming. not always convenient

I had bought a Roomba last year, had only one week and someone broke in my house and stole it...so i bought one about a month ago. I love it. Can't imagine how a machine can be so smart. it does a good job of cleaning, is quiet and goes to it's cradle when it's finished. Picks up a lot of dirt(have wooden floors only)...on my floors. I really don't know how it does on carpet.

I love my new i7 Roomba. It empties its dust bin every time it goes back to recharge. It cleans much more area than other Rooma 960 I had. I have 2 Rottweilers who shed like crazy all year. The dust bin on 960 was full after 1 or 2 runs and it didn't clean until the dust bin was empty. It didn't help me at all because I couldn't be home to empty it. My i7 Roomba usually take 8-9 hours total to clean the whole house. It's nice to come home to my house with a clean floor after work. The ability to choose which area or rooms to clean is a nice feature as well. The only complains I have is it still gets stuck in the middle of the cleaning if I don't reset and clean the clean base (tall charge station) and Roomba (vacuum) every other day. However, this is a small thing compared to clean floor that I don't have to clean.

I have a large ranch house, around 2700 sqft, and had been wanting to try one of these for a long time because I got tired of vacuuming myself. If you've never had one before, you should try it! It cleans well, and is easy to empty when full. Just tell it to start (with the app on my phone or by pushing a button on its top). I like that it tells you its status (i.e., filter full, or stuck on something). Since we have such a large house, it can't clean the whole thing on one charge, but after it charges, it seems to want to go back to the places it already cleaned. We wound up taking it to the room we want to make sure it does when it is fully charged, then let it continue on its merry way. Overall, a big improvement over manual vacuums.

My husband and I both work full time and we have a car and dog at home. We are a typical family with kids and after school activities, just no time to vacuum the house. The 960 works great, it clean the house so well , it makes the hardwood floor look spotless . We are so happy we don’t have to worry about the pet hair anymore.

This Roomba cleans the floors beautifully, easily transitions between hardwood, tile and rugs. Picks up unbelievable amount of dust even when floors appear clean. Sometimes it gets hung up but understandably so in certain areas. Love the remote control and auto docking and programmable operation. Great time and back saver!

I wish I would have never waited this long to jump into the robot vacuum game! This is hands down the best purchase I’ve made since buying my new home!! I’d encourage everyone who could afford this item to get it no news to hesitate. You can start vacuum from anywhere that you are at. Cleans better than my old Dyson did

I absolutely love my iRobot aka “Baker Bot” this has saved me so much time! It really vacuums well on hardwoods and carpet. The only thing is sometimes mine dies before making it back to the dock to charge. I thought it was supposed to dock itself to charge before dying? That is not a big deal for me I still love it!

This is an excellent item to help keep things clean in between major cleanings. It runs for about an hour and then charges. Our downstairs is about 3000sq feet so it takes a few cycles but it does a thorough job learning the layout and going back and forth. It is a bit pricey but was able to get on Black Friday for $100 off.

This is a fabulous vacuum and great time saver. I wish I would have purchased it long ago. I have a golden retriever and 2 kitties and this is the best purchase I've made in a long time....A definite recommendation!! We still use our regular vacuum once a week---but the Roomba takes care of the other 6 days.

I believe this is the best time saver I have purchased. I love it. Possible cons that do not deter me at all: -It can be a tiny bit loud for very light sleepers. I am a very light sleeper and just do not run it while I am asleep. You can hold normal conversation while it is running. -I also do not run it without being around, because I do not want anything accidentally left out to cause a problem with it. -It cannot get between the toilet and the wall in one bathroom. -I pick up trash cans so that it can get fully around these slightly dirtier areas. *About once a week, I remove bathroom rugs, so I can make sure it is clean under them. I have noticed no difference with this. *We have a lot of doors that must be left open for it to get into the rooms and closets, so once a week I dust mop behind the doors to make sure it is clean. I have not been disappointed yet. I do not have indoor animals, and normally there is 4-6 adults/grown children here; but we do have between 10-14 adults and small children in our home 3-4 days a week. Other than the days the extra company is here, I let the vacuum run about every other day. The upstairs is around 1,800 sq ft. It takes between 2-3 recharges for it to do the entire upstairs- this takes a couple of hours for it to complete, including the recharges. I love that it cleans so well and gets under all my furniture, and sweeps up all the nooks and crannies etc. just like I do. I empty the dust container once a week. My floors always look amazing! We also have the robo mop. The combination is just what I have always wanted.

Love this thing. Only issue I have is that it sometimes gets stuck in places it already successfully made a path to, ie we have a infant bouncer and it crawls over the base of it to get under it, then its a roll of dice if it finds its way out/gets stuck. Also, made a squeaking noise within 2-weeks, roomba tech support walked me through a parts cleaning seems to stop the squeaking till needs to be cleaned again. Overall love the fact I can start it from my phone so that its clean by time I get home. It does a great job Cleaning. Nice auto return to base recharging (when it starts from base) too

Purchased as a Xmas gift for my wife. Easy set up and use. We have a combination of hardwood floors and area rugs. Works great on the hardwood floors. We still use the our shark vacuum for the carpet to get the pet hair off. We have two cats and 1 yellow lab. I would state that we no longer have to vacuum the hardwood floors as this robot does the trick. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is that there has been several times it seems to get confused. Goes in circles or inconsistent cleaning patterns. Couple of times, it could not find its way back home. Most of the time it has worked flawless.

Rhoomba 960 is much better than previous versions

I was pleasantly surprised how good of job this vacuum does. I had another Rhoomba years ago and it wasn't very good and we ended up not using it. We also tried one of the off-brand models that had decent reviews but sent it back because it kept losing the Wi-Fi and wouldn't even climb up on our area rugs. The 960 does a great job throughout our upstairs and downstairs rooms. It climbs up onto the area rugs and from hardwood to tile without a hitch. It has only gotten stuck once because we have a tiny bathroom downstairs that has old double doors and it ended up closing itself in. But it sent me a notification on my phone telling me it was stuck. Before the first time we ran it I manually vacuumed the house with a good vacuum and it still practically filled the bin. It flawlessly finds its way back to the charger when it gets low and goes right back to where it left off. It is expensive, but I couldn't be happier with the performance.

This is my first robo vac so can’t compare it to others. That said I purchased this to pick up dust on our dark hardwood floors. These floors show everything. For that it does well. Some things of note that might help: it almost always gets stuck somewhere either under a couch that it clears the edges but can’t go all the way under or at the corner of an area rug. Rosie (our name for it) has trained me though to move a few things out of her way to minimize the issues. She seems also to have learned how to navigate some of the places she used to get stuck. If you get this it probably any model, give it some time before passing judgement. Because these go places that are hard to reach, you may be emptying the bin multiple times at first. This gets better with time. This model does not allow you to select specific areas to clean. That would be a feature worth considering. I don’t really need Rosie to do everything every time. It does come with a beacon that works well. I’ll end up with at least 1 more. I’m not sure that you have to have it connected, but it does let me know when Rosie needs help and there have been times when I didn’t know where she was stuck. The app helps that. One other caveat: this model is supposed to be quiet and I think it would be on carpet. If you have hard surfaces, it gets fairly loud. In short If you think these will replace a conventional vac you likely will be disappointed. If you want one to run while away from home you might get there but look around at tradition areas and furniture that might bog it down else you probably will be disappointed. With a bit lower expectations, I would not hesitate purchasing.

    Great for hard surfaces

If you have mostly hard surfaces (tile, wood, laminate) the 960 is a great option to consider. It has all the features of the 980 except carpet boost and the newer motor. So far the 960 has met our families expectations. We have two dogs (border collie and a sheltie mix) who shed and a toddler. The 960 tackles all the hair and DUST on the hard surfaces. It does an alright job on the area rugs (I'd assume the 980 with carpet boost would be even better). If I could rate the app that goes with the robot independently it would score 2 or 3 stars. It's very basic and took 30-45 min to sync with the robot. So far the 960 is cleaning almost 1400 sq ft (multiple rooms) in about 65 min. Overall, I'm very pleased and looking forward to clean floors every day when I get home from work.
