I original purchased the Roomba 860 it had plenty of suction it just did not navigate very well. It was more a random pattern. This 960 is just what I wanted, it is VERY smart. It navigates effortlessly getting all spots. It picks up very well, surprisingly well! It does use more battery when vacuuming carpet. It's no problem because it will go back and charge then finish the job exactly where it left off. If I had high pile carpet I would opt for the 980. I don't know how I lived without one of these!

My first romba and it won't be my last. It really cleans my wood and carpet floors and never disappoints me. Love it.

We have had this vacuum for a while. The only reason I did not give 5 stars, is it does not do so well on our tile floors. We rely on it for carpet, but if you would like to buy it just for tile, I wouldn't recommend it. It does work well for an everyday job, but we have several pets and still need to vacuum some areas with our traditional upright vacuum once a week. I like the fresh vacuumed look, so it is worth the purchase for me.

I live the Roomba vacuum. It’s very thorough and does a great job. Just have to empty the bin and clean it.

Great product but not covering all the area. Cleans both carpet and hardwoods. Gets around the perimeter of every room it goes in

We purchased this vacuum 7 months ago and have loved it. The dog fur in the kitchen is never a problem any more, though two golden retrievers generate enough fur that the bin in the vacuum needs to be changed daily. Regardless, it's much easier to do that than haul out the vacuum and vacuum by hand nearly daily. Unfortunately, the contacts between the vacuum and base failed and got corroded, rendering the vacuum unable to charge. Attempts to simply clean the contacts in hopes that the problem was dirt were unsuccessful. Further inspection showed there is actually corrosion happening. Once the corrosion was scraped off, the vacuum was able to charge again. The vacuum is not stored or operated in a particularly wet area, though there may be rare drips and drops in a kitchen. This is unacceptable to have corrosion within 7 months in a piece of equipment that should last years. I have contacted customer support in hopes that replacement contacts may be purchased, though I'm not holding my breath. Cannot recommend this product if it fails in the first 7 months unless customer support comes through.

Love having the Roomba. Picks up a lot of daily dust and cat hair. Gets stuck a lot, but more than worth it.

I purchased this as I had surgery and could not push a vacuum for 8 weeks. It does nicely on a daily basis of keeping the big dust bunnies from six animals down. Still need to do the deep cleaning with regular vacuum. It would be nice if the dust bin was designed better so it can be cleaned out without having to pull all the fur out by hand. It’s cleaning patterns are a bit weird. And it’s not that the bot is running into things. Still-a good tool.
