I have had a variety of different robot brands in my home and there is a reason I like iRobot. It is easy to find replacement parts, and the robots do a very good job. The 3550 and the M6 are no exception. The 3550 doesn’t have a camera mounted on top but it is still able to systemically navigate all of the rooms on the second floor and it did a great job cleaning all of the cat litter in the area. Once it was finished cleaning it goes back to its dock and empties itself into a vacuum bag that is inside the docking station! After that entire process ahs completed the 3550 notifies the mop that it has finished and you have the option to have the mop start immediately after the vacuum has finished! I do not think cleaning robots will ever replace sweeping and mopping by a person, however it sure helps maintain the floors clean and saves me time to allocate to sporadic deep cleans. All in all the iRobot app is smart home friendly, easy to navigate, and the robots do exactly what they are supposed to do. While the 3550 is on the budget side of the robot vacuum world, I could not tell a huge difference in suction when compared to a model that was over $1,000 from iRobot. It seems like they didn’t skimp out on their budget model which is impressive.

With three young children and almost daily cleaning of the house, I was excited to try out a more automated solution to parts of this. The kitchen/dining area and front entry way see almost daily sweeping and vacuuming and would be an easy target to test a robot vacuum. Those same floors get mopped about once a week so it would be interesting to see if the Braava could handle it. With these two devices from iRobot, I was hoping for some synergies - sharing maps, synchronizing cleaning, etc. There is some, but not as much as I expected. Still for many families, this can be worthwhile assuming you have the discipline or luck to be able to tidy floors enough for the robots to not get bogged down in toys or random socks.
Out of the box setup for both robots was the same. Place and plugin the base station, set the robot onto it, press power and pair button to make the robot discoverable by the app, configure wifi, and then you're good to do your first cleaning or mapping run. It's been a couple years since my last roomba but after doing the i3 setting up the Braava was a breeze. My initial focus was on the i3 having it first do a cleaning run and then followed by a vacuumless mapping run. The first cleaning was a bit interrupted as the battery wasn't fully charged. No matter, the robot return home to it's docking station with the app giving an estimate to when it would charge up enough to resume. Note, the charging interval doesn't appear to be for a full charge, so depending on the size of your house, it may need a couple. I tried to see if this prediction got better when the i3 had done enough runs to create a "smart map" but I can't say I've seen anything conclusive. You'd want to do enough cleaning or mapping runs to get a smart map as that unlocks a few more capabilities like virtual walls. While the i3 is surprisingly capable at handling random toys and rugs and floor imperfections, it did get stuck on a toy sword under the living room couch and was difficult to rescue. So make sure you really pick up things the robot could get stuck on - and if necessary, once you have the smart map, wall off areas you may not regularly tidy or check for obstructions.
My initial plan when the i3 went to do some charging in the middle of it's first cleaning run was that the Brrava could take over mapping. As it turns out, while you can trigger the Braava mop to clean after the Roomba i3, they do not share maps. So, getting to smart map needs to happen independently on all your robot cleaners. Ug. I did one full non vacuum mapping run with the i3 but it honestly made more sense to just do full cleans while building the smart map. On the other hand, as the mop essentially uses consumable items as it cleans, it made sense to have it do mapping runs without actually doing wet cleaning. The i3 did an ok job with vacuuming. It did not pick up everything - tended to leave some larger items on the ground - perhaps big enough that they got pushed or brushed away during a pass but enough that if I could have it run every night, I'd be completely happy. Unfortunately, I can't. And this isn't the robot's fault - there's just a lot of tidying to do before being able to do a full clean. Unfortunately, while you can zone clean manually (do the kitchen while leaving other rooms messy for later), as the i3 needs to traverse those messy rooms to get to the kitchen, one needs to tidy up everywhere prior to regular cleaning. It's perhaps a habit the family can get into, but it will take time. One potential solution would be to make the i3's home in the kitchen or other high touch room. But as it turns out, those are chaotic enough that the robot and it's base would be constantly underfoot. Which reminds me of another synchronization disappointment - I had this idea that the two robots could share a base or somehow be docked together - nope, each has it's own base which takes up a decent amount of wall space. And keep in mind you need clearance to either side of the base so the robot has room to maneuver when heading back to base.
The first full clean with the Braava mop was a bit of a disappointment - the floors were slightly clean, but some stains which I normally get out with manual mopping were still there. This made me realize that my strategy of weekly mopping works well for me as a manual laborer, but not my robotic one. For the Braava mop, it's really much better for it to clean the floors much closer to when they're dirty. Where the i3's vacuum let's it handle floor imperfections and not being able to muscle things, the m6 doesn't have that advantage. This renders the m6 less useful than the i3. Running the mop has the same constraints. While the area that needs regular mopping is smaller, it still needs a relatively tidy environment to be able to traverse all the rooms. Where the i3 can handle 2-3 days of buildup between cleans, the m6 strains its usefulness if I can't run it a bit more often. Which is itself an issue - given that I'll need to purchase refills on the mop, it seems that even if I could run it often enough to make sense using the m6 as my primary mopping solution, I'm not sure I'd want that regular cost given that I need to do some manual tidying and cleaning anyway and it's cheaper for me to just do the mopping myself.
It turned out not to be too big a deal, but the i3 is pretty noisy when vacuuming. And when docked after a vacuuming session, the base vacuuming the i3 vacuum is even louder. On the main floor of the house where things are rumbling, it seems pretty noisy but it surprisingly didn't travel much vertically. So, while anyone on the same floor will be painfully aware the i3 is out and about, on the second floor of the house, toddlers, wives, and babies can easily sleep through a downstairs cleaning session. So, yes, it will seem obnoxiously loud given the size of the i3 relative to an upright or canister vacuum, but the volume seems spatially contained.
In summary, I'm pretty pleased with the i3 and a bit meh on the m6. I think the m6 isn't a good fit for my personal situation but it does a decent job and I can see it being a better fit for someone with mostly tile floors or less regularly cleaning needs where you can readily queue it up to run after a particularly messy event rather than needing to carry out tidying an entire floor every night or every other night in order to get good use. And similarly, by only needing to run on demand rather than regularly to maintain a clean floor, spending on consumables can stay reasonable.

Great robot vacuum and mop bundle I'd recommend!

This bundle is amazing and would be a great addition to any home that has a combination of hard floors and carpet.
Starting with the Roomba i3+...
First, I have to say it's an amazing device and if you have pets, kids or a lot of in/out traffic, I would definitely say this is a good investment because it will keep your floors much cleaner without as much effort!
Of course that doesn't mean you set it and forget it.. there are still a few things you need to do.. first you still need to pick up small toys or objects as these can cause issues with the robot.. the small dog rope toys are the worst and the robot gets stuck on them and tries to suck them up. Second, I'd make sure you don't have your dogs out/free as if there is an "accident" I do think really bad things could happen with that accident and cause the worst unimaginable mess you can think of. I personally haven't experienced it but have heard others who have and this unit is no different where it tries to run over and suck up small rubber toys and small rope toys!
In our house, we have a combination of area rugs, hard floors and carpet throughout the area upstairs. So far, it's handled the rugs and floors just fine and it definitely does suck up dust, hair and dirt/stuff that's tracked inside. What is cool is that you can direct the robot to clean specific rooms once you have it setup and it's learned your floors/rooms and you can control it via wifi or your smart assistant. It also senses really dirty areas and will go back over them to clean it up. There's a lot of high tech stuff crammed into it because it senses walls, furniture, drop offs and larger/heavier items on the floor. There is one threshold in our house it has trouble with because it's fairly high so that's the one thing I wish Roomba would do is come up with a sensor that could sense that and lift the front of the bot up to navigate across or up on to a rug that's higher off the hard floor. Best part of this unit is it empties itself in to the bin making it much easier to clean up and helping it last much longer between when you have to do maintenance such as emptying it or cleaning rollers as you would with nearly any other vacuum. Also, It does work as advertised and does not fall down our stairs, which is a huge plus.
Now, for the Braava jet...
I thought this concept was cool and it really does work by helping keep dust off your floors and will help keep them clean by keeping the grime cleaned up. I have noticed it now after using different pads that depending on the pads it does seem to leave streaks/marks where it's been. That's one thing that I don't care for as it makes your floors look like they are dirty when they are not. This could just be the cleaning solution but either way I don't like how it looks. In addition, if you have rugs on your hard floors, and don't pick them up this thing doesn't deal with them well in all scenarios. It does sense them so it won't mop a rug but it could cause the robot to not clean beyond that rug or around it. Perhaps that's something they can update to help the robot "learn" where all your rugs are so it cleans around them and uses it sensors with that learned map to navigate around them.
To fix this, I'd recommend setting it on a schedule so all you have to do is pickup your rugs after Roomba vacuums the rooms. What I did is set one to do it Thursday and the mop to do it's duty on Friday when no one is home (which both of these can sense and will stop if someone is home). If you have problems with the streaking, I would recommend using a different pad, and specifically a reusable pad and then reduce how much cleaning solution I use or mix it with water. I wish that Roomba would include their own recommendations on how to work through these challenges as I'm sure there are many others who have the same issues and you shouldn't have to "figure it out" when it's such a large investment to get these machines.
These machines do work and work well together to help keep your house clean and make it so you don't have to deep clean as often, especially if you have pets or lots of in/out traffic through your home. If you have hard floors, I would say it's essential because it cuts down on dust dramatically and can go under furniture, in corners and near walls is most cases to clean where dust tends to accumulate (especially in a bedroom with hard floors).
The Roomba app makes it easy to setup and manage your robots and set schedules, control them and monitor status/progress and connect them to your smart assistant. In addition you get voice control so you can control your Roomba with your voice as well. Both machines are well built and packed with high-tech sensors designed to deal with most common situations/enviornments.
Overall, this is a great bundle and a worthwhile investment. I wouldn't say it would completely "replace" a mop and vacuum but definitely will keep your house cleaner than it would otherwise be without them as you can have them do daily cleanings and even spot cleaning to save you time/effort.

I’ve been curious about robot vacuums for some time. I have always been hesitant as my space is not that large, I have a certain “way” I like things cleaned, and I just wasn’t sure the value was there for me. Well, after some time with this combo, I think my concerns were warranted.
To be clear, I really like the tech involved. I think there is a future in this for many, perhaps even me, but at least in my first experience it just did not really work out.
Everything was packaged well, and the unboxing was simple. The build of the vacuum unit, base, mop unit, all of it, is quite good. Everything is solid, seems put together well, and frankly, looks very nice. It would fit in in just about any household. I followed the brief guide, downloaded the app and kind of pieced it all together. Once up and running, the unit seemed to struggle to map my space. Now, my space is not that large, but there are quite a few walls, turns, hallways…etc… and it is quite cramped, so I “guess” this was the problem, but it took a few runs to get there. I suppose I understand this, but it still never seemed to get it “just right”. Maybe with more time? I do not know.
The sweeping runs had a little trouble with my furniture as well as a lot of the transitions from room to room. Quite honestly, while the vacuuming the unit did was good (and I do appreciate the straight lines), I feel there are just spaces that aren’t getting hit. I also suffered quite a few reboot requests and connection issues. Is this the app? The system? Both? Further, while the unit itself was not that loud, the fact that it took quite a bit longer that I had hoped meant a lot of time with noise. Also, while I appreciate the self-emptying, that noise, that noise was loud. Short, but loud. In my brief experience, It also seemed to have trouble with the emptying process too often. All in all, taken as a whole, not the best experience with the vacuum unit.
As for the mop unit, well, it seemed to do quite a bit better. I have very little space for this unit to cover and it is all mostly free of any obstructions. You have to fill it with cleaner and your desired cleaning pads, but that is about it. I did not seem to have the same issues with this space/unit. The unit was “quiet” and has done a better job with coverage. If I had more need for this unit, this could be what I was looking for.
In the end, I just don’t know. I was hoping for this futuristic experience, set it and forget it, everything clean, and for some people, maybe that is what they have gotten. My experience has not been that. Perhaps it is as simple as the nature of my space, or maybe over time it will get better, I just don’t know. For those that have the right space, or even for those who are just looking for a little upkeep between cleaning, maybe this can be a good choice. For me though, the inconsistency in performance (mapping, vacuuming, app), some added costs (bags, cleaner, pads), and the overall package just don’t have enough value. I think I can clean what I need to faster and better on my own. Trouble-free.

Over the years, I’ve owned many different robot vacuums. Some dumb, some smart, some with AI vision, some with LIDAR. My first robot vacuum was the iRobot Roomba 890. It was very simple to set up and had amazing cleaning capabilities. After trying out some other vacuums, none compared to the cleaning of the Roomba. When I got the chance to try out the Roomba i3+ and the Braava jet m6, I was happy to be back with iRobot.
Roomba i3+
If you never tried out a robot vacuum with a self-empty dock, you’re missing out. The convenience of being able to just let the vacuum run without having to empty the bin every other day is amazing. With the i3+, you get the vacuum, self-empty dock, an extra filter, and an extra dust bag. Set-up was very simple using the iRobot app. Compared to the other newer Roomba vacuums, this one does not have a camera sensor to map. Instead it’s able to create a map using a floor sensor, which is able to create pretty accurate map of your home. You can then label all the different rooms in your home and schedule the Roomba to clean in specific areas. Just like most vacuums, there will be times where the Roomba will get stuck in some places or jam itself under furniture or cabinets. Unfortunately the i3 does not have Keep-Out Zones on the map and instead you have to use the old style Virtual Wall Barriers. Something else to look out for is the noise of the self-empty dock. It is extremely loud. The first time I heard it, it sounded like a jet engine in my living room. At least I know that all the dust has been removed from the vacuum.
Braava jet m6
The m6 is a nice little addition in the world of cleaning robots. Just like the Roomba, the m6 was easy to set-up in the iRobot app. Since the Braava has a camera, it’s able to create more accurate maps than the Roomba i3. It completed a Mapping Run in around 30 minutes and I was able to label each room . The only issue was that since the m6 sits very low to the floor, it wasn’t able to go over some of my rugs and sometimes only mapped half of a room. As for the cleaning, I have hardwood floors throughout my home, with tile in the kitchen. It does a great job of sweeping the hardwood with a dry mopping pad. On my first cleaning run in the kitchen, I used the included concentrate cleaner for hard floors and the wet mopping scrub pad. On the surface it seemed to do a decent job, but once it dried and I stepped into the kitchen, I could feel the floors were a bit sticky. It didn’t leave any streaks, but just a sticky residue. This may have been due to the amount of cleaner coming out of the spray (which is adjustable), or maybe the included cleaner isn’t that great. I might just use water in the Braava going forward to eliminate this issue.
Final Thoughts
The Roomba/Braava Bundle is something that I have really been enjoying. Because everything is in one app, the vacuum is able to connect to the mop and let it know that is finished its job, keeping my floors clean everyday. It’s an automated process that allows me to just sit back and let the robots do their jobs.

I have used iRobot's robot vacuum before, but this is my first-time using robot mop. These are standalone items, and not a combo of vacuum and mop in one, which is better. The overall packaging was neat, and unboxing was easy. The vacuum and the mop come in separate packages inside the big box. Setting up both items was a breeze. Make sure to download iRobot Home app and connect both to Wi-Fi to install any software updates before you start your full setup. The app allows for customizations like scheduling, naming rooms, map marking, etc.
The Roomba i3+ has incredibly good suction power to vacuum your entire home and pull in the dirt seamlessly. It has the functionality to map your entire home. Make sure to do that first so you can tell your robot vacuum where to clean and when to clean by marking the areas on the app. You can also use Alexa or Google Assistant for voice commands and integrate with your smart home. The robot can empty itself at the dirt disposal base which is designed to hold up to 60 days of dirt.
For the Braava robot mop, you need to attach the pad before you start cleaning. The robot mop is smart enough to know which pad is attached and the app will tell you what mode of cleaning it can do. The mop uses precision jet to spray cleaning solution and electrostatic force to sweep and dry the area. The mop can also map your entire house and you can schedule the run. Battery life on this seems to be much better than the vacuum based on each run life.
Both robot vacuum and mop do an excellent job of cleaning your entire space. They can be used together or separately. I like that you can also set the mop to run right after the vacuum has been done. I wish they both shared the same map, but instead you must have each map its own area. I would recommend this bundle to anyone looking for a complete smart cleaning solution for their home.

Excellent cleaning. Software needs fine tuning

I use this product twice a week for my apartment which is mostly hardwood with two area rugs. It takes about an hour and a half to do the whole apartment. It cleans in nice lines but is very random where it goes and does not seem to map the areas well enough to recognize where it has gone and where it has not cleaned all the time. The app and mapping definitely needs some work still. Clean up it does on the hardwood is excellent as is the mop but on carpet it is about average. For thicker rugs or with pets I think you still should have a regular vacuum on hand but for primary cleanup on hardwood and tile this is tough to beat. Battery life has been fine. It is loud when emptying itself but that is understandable. We previously owned the I3 which was also a great product but seemed slightly more refined but that can certainly be improved with software. Overall most details and specs are easily found online so in summary for a set it, forget it and come home to a clean place this is 5 stars. People with pets or wanting a true deep clean on occasion need an extra vacuum as these realistically can only deliver so much balancing battery life and power.

SUMMARY
---------------
Sometimes automation is a boon and sometimes, its no. I have few iteration of robo vacuum and I think I have finally settled on this.
There are lot of dumb vacuums in the market which randomly cleans the room and finally getting stuck in a wire or under the sofa where you do not want the vacuum to go to.
This Roomba vacuum and the Braava jet mop are a game changer. It has a dirt disposal which sucks the dirt from the vacuum and stores in the canister for 60 days worth of cleaning.
It has a mapping run, which makes sure to create a map of the room which you can edit to suit your needs. In my case, I would stop it from going under the couch where it could get stuck OR in a room where my home theater wires are.
Similarly the Braava mop also features mapping which lets me customize my cleaning zone. The same app works on both the vacuum and the mom which is a good thing.
Overall very happy with the prod, it is a little expensive but pays for itself in a few months' time.
What's in the Box:
• iRobot® Roomba® i3+ EVO Robot Vacuum
• 1 Clean Base® Automatic Dirt Disposal
• 2 Dirt Disposal Bags
• 1 Extra High-Efficiency Filter
• iRobot® Braava jet® m6 Robot Mop
• 1 Charging Dock
• 1 Dock Tray
• 1 North American Line Cord
• 2 Single-Use Wet Mopping Pad
• 2 Single-Use Dry Sweeping Pad
• 1 Washable Wet Mopping Pad
• 4oz. Cleaning Solution Sample Bottle
SETUP
---------
Setup is easy peasy. Comes in a big box and very well packed. Nothing to use your screw driver on, everything is click lock.
You then download the iRobot app to configure your vacuum and mop. Both mop and the vacuum run on iRobot OS and can get OTA (over the air update)
The mop and vacuum are not too thin and hence won't get stuck under your sofa. My Eufy was a thin one and usually gets stuck under my sectional sofa unable to find a way out.
USAGE
----------
It operates completely through the app which is a good thing. The app indicates the map, battery left and other controls such as emptying bin, cleaning a single room etc.
First once you configure to work with your WIFI, is to run a mapping run. This will map out the rooms and will give you options to name room just in case you need to run the vacuum or mop on one of the rooms.
You can control both the devices on the same app .
The vaccum cleans better than my Eufy vacuum and the best part is that I do not have to empty the canister after ever run. It automatically emtys into the uber collector. This can store the debris for upto 60 days.
The mop performs very well. It does not spay a lot of water on my hardwood floor, just enough to clean.
There is a small amount of cleaning solution which comes with this one, I am thinking I could use any cleaning solution off the shelf on this one.
Overall love the product and pays for itself in a few runs.
Only thing to keep in mind is the vacuum bag which is a proprietary irobot product, need to find a replacement soon!

Superior to the Shark robot in all ways but one

Do not get me wrong - the first robot vacuum we ever had is a Shark and it was so beloved it almost felt like another family pet. However, the Roomba and associated app definitely are improvements in a bunch of aspects except for one.
The only thing I like better about the Shark is the fact that there's no 'bag' that it empties into when it returns to home.
Things the Roomba does better:
-It is nowhere near as aggressive while vacuuming in regard to bumping into things
-Doesn't get stuck on our odd transition to our outside porch
-The app: being able to designate rooms on the map is awesome
-The app: being app to schedule for specific rooms is even better
-The app: schedule to mop right after vacuuming = genius
Which is a good transition to the mop bot - this thing is awesome. I never looked forward to 'cleaning' the hardwood floor and this certainly does the job. It comes with multiple pads, one of which is washable/reusable. Setting it up was almost as easy as the regular bot. It's done a great job for every run so far. My only complaint, and this is probably being nit-picky, is that it doesn't mop with the grain. It doesn't really seem to matter, but I don't know if that will cause any issues in the future.
Another nice thing, just to show iRobot was thinking of all the things, is that each home base has a place to wrap your extra power cord on.
One thing to note, these are two separate units, each with their own home base, but are controlled in the one app.

Wow, this is Roomba?

I have been a Deebot user for ages. There are 2 reasons for it - when I started looking for robot vacuums, the Roomba always was a bit out of my price range, and given that the Deebot was a Japanese company with decent pricing, I went with them. And once I tried it out, I loved the models and kept using them ever since. But in my head Roomba was still the creme de la creme and a bit out of my reach.
Well not anymore, I got the Roomba i3 to replace my Deebot U2 (with wet mop), and was waiting to be blown away by this pinnacle of robot vacuums that everyone keeps raving about. And... I was thoroughly disappointed.
I am not sure, where to start - there is not a single saving grace compared to the Deebot. Lets start with the comparison -
- the options in the app are non-existent compared to Deebot - you cannot select the noise the vacuum makes (the power at which it runs). AND its extremely LOUD (apparently its only power mode). I usually have my vacuum, run during the night, and at night it just sounds like a freeway outside your door.
- If you've spilled something you cannot make it run just in a spot, to clean that up. Or ask it to clean just the edges.
- Its mapping making is infuriatingly frustrating, even after its done and shows the map in the app, it doesn't save them.
- Also, its drop sensor is useless for a drop of an inch. We have an empty fireplace, and my old Deebot would never enter that area, its drop sensor would push it away, but this dumb machine keeps getting in there, and then cannot get out.
- It also doesn't "say" anything, just makes weird noises and we are somehow supposed to know what those noises mean.
It also needs a LOT more empty space around the place its parked than my Deebot, if it hits something close the place its kept, it just goes BACK. Amazing!
Maybe I am being harsh, but I have been spoiled by a company that give a lot more to their customers for a lot less. Roomba is just not for me.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The iRobot Roomba i3+ (3550) Robot Vacuum and Braava jet m6 (6113) Robot Mop bundle - Black Is a comprehensive solution to vacuuming and cleaning floors. I have both rugs and hardwood floors/hard surfaces so both a vacuuming and mopping and vacuum option are welcome. I am also not new to root vacuum cleaners having an iRobot Roomba j7+ Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum and a couple other brands. In general, I find the iRobot Roombas to be the to be the best of the bunch. This i3+ carries on with many of the same great features.
However, this package is not about the i3+ but is about the Braava jet m6 Robot Mop which is a real life saver and makes mopping a breeze. First vacuum and then mop to get shinny and dirt and dust free floors! In summary, I would highly recommend the iRobot Roomba i3+ (3550) Robot Vacuum and Braava jet m6 (6113) Robot Mop bundle – Black to anyone looking for a complete rug and floor cleaning solution that requires minimal to no interaction after initial setup.
