I tried using a cheap pair of other headphones but they bothered me after extensive use. Same happened with these. I returned within a week after trying all of the included earbud options. They just caused pain in my ear.

I bought these after reading lots of reviews. The sound quality was ok, but they could not maintain a connection with an iPhone 6 Plus, a Samsung Galaxy S4, or a laptop. Ultimately, I returned them.

These headphones were great at first, but after a few hours they will hurt your ears. If you listen to them full blast your battery life is only about 2 to 3 hours however they will last longer if you change settings in the app. If you buy these get the insurance i guarantee they will last a year only, shorter with frequent use. You will lose sound in right or left bud. I think the wire tears on the inside. If jaybird does not help with a warranty than i will switch to a 20 dollar amazon pair and will gladly pay that if those last a year too.

I purchased this on Black Friday 2018 due to the low sales price. However, they did not connect to my Droid Turbo. After trying with a different phone, it connected. i let them fully charge to 98%. After 3 songs on Pandora, they drained to 48% and then after one more song, they told me to charge them again and completely turned off. I reset them and plugged them and after 35 minutes, dead again. They still have not turned back on and have been charging for 2 hours. The battery is ridiculously poor on these.

      Hello AvidRunner,

We are sorry to hear that your Jaybird X3 do not hold a charge. Please send us an email at [email protected] and we will get you taken care of to improve your experience.

Please try these troubleshooting steps that can help to resolve the issue of your headset's battery:

-Computers are the best and safest method, as is anything 1 AMP or less.
-Car chargers produce a much greater power supply and should be avoided.
-Over-charging the battery will quickly reduce the life of the headphones, so in addition to monitoring the power supply, limit the charge time to 2.5 hours,
-To get the most out of your battery it is recommended to charge the buds when the low battery status is indicated.
-Avoid charging your headphones after exposure to sweat.
-Make sure charging port/cradle is clear of any debris.

2 week old headphones not replaced by Jay Bird

I have a fall marathon coming up and the X3's I purchased failed after about 2 weeks. I went through JB support and someone named Vince told me that he was "... about to process a replacement request for your headset.". I've not heard since. After several emails to JB that have not been responded to, I'm at a loss of what to do. No problem with BestBuy, they offered me a chance to purchase a warranty, which I declined. The headphones worked great, but only for 2 weeks.

    Custom sound on the go.

I bought the Jaybird X3 after ALOT of research on various headphones. I wanted a headphone to use on my daily bus commute. To me the number one criteria was sound quality and then of course comfort. I also wanted headphones that block out the loud conversations on the bus and be wireless. I looked at on ear, over the ear, and in ear. I finally ruled out over the ear and on ear headphones due to the bulk. After trying out the Bose Soundsport headphones I decided that though they sounded good I could not adjust the Equalizer settings other than with the limited iPhone Equalizer presets in the settings menu which is pain and has limited controls. I read that the Jaybird had the My Sound App which allows you to adjust the Equalizer however you wish so I decided to give them a try. The out of the box Equalizer setting that comes with the headphones don't do them justice. You have to try different Equalizer settings to appreciate these. There is a community section where you can download Equalizer presets that other users have created and then you can tweak them to your liking. You can also create your own Equalizer from scratch. This is my favorite feature of these headphones. Sound is a lot about personal taste. What sounds good to one person will not thrill another. I have an Equalizer for every type of music I listen to and I have one for when I am watching a movie. Why not? Lastly I impressed that they included comply foam tips with these. Once I started listening to in ear headphones with comply tips I was a believer. I once put a pair of comply tips on my cheap skull candy buds and the difference was amazing. I tried the silicon tips that came with these and they made the X3 sound like I was listening to music through a tin can. When I put in the comply tips they sounded great and were very comfortable. These headphones have great isolation with the comply tips. The comply tips are great! Did I mention that? The sound stage is great, highs are good and not too bright. Mids can be forward or diminished based on the Equalizer settings. Bass really kicks. Does not sound over driven. I rarely have these headphones above half volume because the sound is so rich and robust that I don't need to turn them way up to get the power out of them. Jaybird seems to really care about the sound. The variety of tips. The My Sound app. They really get it. Music can and should influence us all so it should sound good and what sounds good is very much a matter of personal taste. I guess I could complain about the weird charging connector but it actually is pretty convenient. You just snap the headphones in and let it charge. If you want good sound and a way to easily customize it to your liking with a comfortable fit I say.... Go for it.

The Reception While Working out is Pathetic

I bought these last October and was impressed with the quality and design but I recently started actually using them while being active and playing soccer and I am extremely disappointed with the reception while moving. They drop signal every time my phone is blocked by the turn of my head or a swing of my hand. I wish I would have tried them out while exercising earlier so I could return them but it is too late now. I strongly recommend not to buy these if you plan on using them while being active.
