    Stopped Working Within 1 Month

These headphones were great and performed exactly as advertised...for a month. After 1 month, the headphones no longer turn on - they indicate a charge but will not turn on and will not reset. If you search the Jaybird forums, you can see this is a very common problem. Jaybird recommends two different ways of 'factory resetting' the headphones, neither of which seem to work for any affected customers. Stay away and go with another product that has a better working life.

Initially, best set of earbuds I owned. Four months later, they will no longer turn on. If you buy them make sure to get a protection plan.

      Hi Capt,

We are sorry to hear that your Jaybird X3 will no longer charge nor power ON. We understand how you feel and recommend that you reach out to [email protected]. We will do what we can to help improve your experience.

Also, here are suggestions that can help prevent the issue from occurring.

      • Computers are the best and safest method, as is anything 1 AMP or less.
      • Car chargers produce a much greater power supply and should be avoided.
      • Over-charging the battery will quickly reduce the life of the headphones, so in addition to monitoring the power supply, limit the charge time to 2.5 hours,
      • To get the most out of your battery it is recommended to charge the buds when the low battery status is indicated.
      • Avoid charging your headphones after exposure to sweat.

I struggle to find in-ear headphones that fit my ear. These did not fit. They DO come with bunch of adapters, but none fit.

I did not end up keeping these because they would not stay in my ears. Using the included "wings" to wedge them in place was not comfortable for me.

Battery issues right at 1 year of ownership

I’m on my second set of Jaybird X3’s and both have quit holding a charge right after I passed the 1 year mark. Jaybird replaced the first set under warranty, even though I had just passed the 1 year mark, so kudos for that, but now the replacement ones have quit holding a charge right at 11 months. The replacement ones do not have warranty coverage. Don’t waste your money. Buy a set that will last more than a year.

DO NOT BUY THESE HEADPHONES! Very disappointed in the purchase. For the price I would have expected better durability. After six months of regular use the earphones would no longer turn. I tried the different factory reset methods to no avail. I have purchased headphones for 1/3 of the price which last much longer than these. If you read the reviews on Jaybirds on site they have significant issues. I repeat do not buy these headphones.

A Really Great Product With A Few Small Gripes

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Other than the fact that the headphones aren't magnetic so that they don't fall off so easy, and the new charging method that we've been presented with, these are by FAR my favorite headphones I've owned. The sound quality and battery life is definitely great for me. I use these headphones every single day, and surprisingly, I haven't lost them yet. The best method that I've found for keeping them around my neck when I'm not using them is tucking them in my shirt instead of letting them dangle free. I didn't do this when I first got them because they rarely left my house, but when school got back in, the idea of losing a pair of $130 headphones made me sick! My personal biggest gripe is definitely the charging cradle, though. A lot of the time I don't plug them in until right before i go to bed and it's typically dark, so if I don't ensure that the charger snapped onto my device, they don't charge at all. I use my headphones everyday for 6+ hours, so if they miss a charge, I'm just out of luck. ***Please don't let these two issues keep you from buying these headphones, I personally think that they're the best investment that I've made in a while!***
