Made for sports, but great for all-around use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initially, I would say my decision to purchase wireless headphones was a medium-involvement decision. I looked at other products online, and continued to watch comparisons after my purchase. I knew I liked Bose and Shure, but wasn't too familiar with Jaybird on a sound scale. However, I remembered they were the main brand that first produced Bluetooth headphones, and since I LOVE green, I decided these were the ones for me. Out of the box they came with an o.k. gummy ear bud and some comply sound-isolating tips. I would HIGHLY recommend spending an extra $16 on the premium package of Comply tips. You'll get the foam sport tips that let in a bit more sound making these comparable to Soundsport earbuds if your're interested in having some awareness of your surroundings. You'll also get a pair of extended wear Comply tips that provide great lows and you'll get one more extra pair of sound-isolating tips. Now, these will come out of the box a bit flat, so you'll have to use the MySound app to find a sound profile you'll like. I'm not too much of an engineer, so I just found a pre-made profile that worked for me and have stuck with that since. The app is a great tool if you're really into toying with the levels so audiophiles will love it. Overall, this an awesome product with a great soundstage and even with the extra buds you're still a shade under $150. I will not take these off, and BONUS if you ride motorcycles; these will fit comfortably under your helmet providing you with riding tunes and turn-by-turn GPS instructions. 8 hours of battery is true, as I'm getting somewhere between 7 and 8 per charge. Hope this helps!!

Great headphones for intense work outs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these headphones after a long debate and comparison with the powerbeats3. I needed a wireless (but not true wireless) headphones to allow me to go hands free, and to prevent me from ripping ear buds out of my ears while I sprint. I have intense work outs 5-6 times a week. Ranging from my dance classes, to hitting the track and performing sprints, and even lifting weights. I was initially skeptical because I have small ears, and I was worried about fit, and having the ear buds slipping out. Like the users guide says, you have to play around with the fit. It definitely took me a few errors to get the ear buds right. One thing the manual doesn't tell you (and the internet didn't help either) is that the fins have grooves on the in side of the ring, and lock onto the edge on the ear bud. At first I was pushing the fins beyond that ridge on the top of the bud, and it was causing ear pain. As soon as placed them on that edge, pain was gone. I also really enjoy the comply ear pieces. They are very comfortable and I haven't had a single problem with losing the headphones during any of my work outs. Even with all my sweating. I initially also had issue where one bud sounded louder than the other; and I discovered that was a phone setting - I was on stereo instead of mono. Once I made the switch the sound is awesome. The app is pretty cool. You can make your own settings for sound, or use someone else's. They also have spotify stations. To listen to those stations on the app you need spotify premium, or you can say "no" and it'll open the playlist in the spotify app, which has worked fine for me. You can also share your own playlists. I have found the battery life is great. I use the headphones at work, and I haven't had to recharge them mid way through the day. So I must be doing something right. And 20 minutes will give you an extra hour if you need one. I have done this between work and dance. And it takes 2.5 hours to fully charge. If you read other reviews like I have, along with the jaybird site, they warn you that you need a 5.5V output or smaller. If you own an iPhone, the wall charger has that output. Also I own a portable blackweb battery pack and that is 5V. I have used both and they work great with the headphones. Overall I really like these headphones. They stay in during my most intense work outs, and dance (which involves a lot of jumping and spinning and footwork). I would definitely give these a try if you are looking for a better wireless headphone.

Not the best out there.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these cause I lost my Bose earphones, thinking that these would be a better choice since it was for $99. but the claim that its "sweat proof" but the ear buds kept slipping off my ear, whenever i used them to workout. and straight out of the box they have poor Bass. i know youre supposed to use the app to config. the persets but come on... would rather buy some skull candy wired ear phones.

Second pair of jaybirds that died
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve only had them 6 months and now they won’t turn on! My first pair I had for two years right at the mark of my warrantee being up they die I thought it was just a fluke and that they were pretty good headphones cause they’re waterproof sweat proof etc. but now I’ve only had the second September and they’re broke and they’re way too expensive to break after six months

Excellent Wireless In-Ear Headphones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are an avid gym goer, or just enjoy great sounding music, then these headphones are perfect for you! These are the best earbuds on the market right now. I struggled to find wireless in-ear headphones that would stay in my ear during workouts. Other wireless earbuds such as Powerbeats would continuously slip out making the sound quality poor. The Jaybird X3’s come with many adjustable ear tips and Secure-fit ear fins giving them a custom fit. My favorite tips are the comply tips, they have expanding foam similar to earplugs allowing them to isolate noise while improving sound quality. This also gives the headphones a more secure and snug fit. I have never had an issue with these headphones slipping out of my ear! Bluetooth Capability • The Jaybird X3 has excellent Bluetooth range up to 100 ft. • Capable of going through walls • Connects instantly to phone when headphones are turned on • Able to play/pause and +/- volume of music • Automatically shut off after 5 minutes if no device is connected Being able play/pause and +/- volume by clicking the buttons on the earbuds is an excellent feature. When someone attempts to speak to you with your headphones in you can simply press the pause button rather than taking your earbuds completely out. If you are in the gym you can easily turn the music up without pulling your phone out of your pocket, which can be very inconvenient. My favorite part about these headphones is the Jaybird MySound app. This app has many excellent features including: • Customizable equalizer settings allowing you to create your own sound • There are also presets you can use to try and find an equalizer just right for you • Gives you the opportunity to increase bass, treble, and ranges • Music playlist already made for you • Tech support chat and how to guides for setup • Test sound quality of left and right earbuds If you appreciate high quality bass while listening to your music, this app is perfect for you. The HI DEF AUDIO preset gives you the perfect balance of bass and ranges for flawless sound quality. These headphones have excellent battery life up to 8 hours. It can be quite annoying having to constantly charge your headphones before each workout. You will not have this problem with the Jaybird X3’s. I highly recommend these Wireless In-Ear Headphones, you will not be disappointed.

Not good for runners.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have tried multiple pairs of these in-ear headphones. They usually work well for 3-6 months and then have problems due to shorting out because of sweat. They will suddenly develop static noise and then the charge will drop from full to no charge. At this point they will refuse to charge. Exchange them multiple times, but always with the same result.

Perfect!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these 9 months ago and use them daily. The battery lasts around 8 hours with constant use, durable, stay in place, and you don't feel like you're wearing them. Great sound isolation! I'm an audiophile and very picky about sound quality. I did months of research on different headphones before landing on these and couldn't be happier! With the Jaybird app you can customize your experience to get your ideal sound. Once I found that sound, I couldn't put these down. The app also has playlists for workouts, relaxation, ect., so there's something for everyone. I've already added my Jaybird logo sticker to my guitar case. You won't regret buying these!

Poor connectivity
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very disappointed in Jaybird products, especially the X3. The Jaybird blog site has a plethora of complaints regarding poor Bluetooth connectivity. I must add my disappointment. The connection consistently cuts out when I am outside walking. Even after following the guidelines of having the device as close as possible to the headset antenna, I still get sub-standard performance.

A Poor Design . . . and poor sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The design of these earbuds are a real disappointment. The charger is almost impossible to figure out and has a very narrow "sweet spot" where the earbuds connect to charge. It is difficult to turn the earbuds on when wearing them. The sound is like an old AM transistor radio. I've tried all the tone shaping tools that come with the app--but the sound is still disappointing.
