    Withstands races

I have used these in 3 races so far and they have withstood more than well enough. The last race was on the 4th of July and it was particularly hot and humid so I looked like I had fallen in a lake by the end. I have had no problems with these slipping out while running or having sweat run in my ears causing them to loosen, affect the sound, or fall out. I know that sounds gross but I have had other earbuds where this did happen. The sound on these are great too and I love the app to adjust the settings which is something Beats don't offer. These are my second pair of jaybirds. The other ones are also flawless to me but these have a longer battery life right off the charger. After a 5k, this model still has more than 80% of battery left on them so I would imagine they will more than hold up for a 10k or even a half or full marathon. For reference, I run about a 28 min. 5k. Jaybrd seems to advertise as runner's earbuds and I have to say that I get it. More than satisfied and glad I own two pairs of Jaybirds!

Spend the extra money and purchase the Bose. These aren't very comfortable and the sounds quality was poor. Better than the JBL's but nowhere near the Bose.

I did a lot of research about earbuds before I bought these. Lots of really expensive stuff out there as well as cheap. I decided to buy these and let me tell you they are great. Lots of cool features and the sound is great. Download the app they show on the paperwork. It allows you to customize your equalizer and save to the buds. Equalizer is GREAT. You can’t go wrong with these for the quality and mid range price. I would buy them again and again

A sales associate recommend these headphones. However, these are the worst, the foam part kept falling off and it made it impossible to workout.

Good sound, but in ear may not be for me.

Nothing to do with the iPhone 7, I’m just looking to free myself from wired earbuds. I currently use the earbuds that came with my iPhone 6S (wired). I think they sound good for $29 (free with the phone), not the Bose or Beats sound, but good, and they feel nice. So this is what I'm comparing the X3's to. The X3's sound good, but not as good as the iPhones. Even with the free EQ software, I couldn’t get them to sound better than the iPhones. The fit of the X3’s are good, but for me, not as comfortable as the iPhone. With the iPhone's earbuds, I just put them in my ear and play music. The X3's were too complicated. The foam ear tips felt better than the silicone, but you have to roll them between your fingers, insert them into your ear, and then hold them there for 30 seconds. That’s too much work. I found the silicone tips to be much easier, but I still had to play with them to get them to sit properly. Due to the weight of the controls, the right earbud kept falling out. And I wasn't exercising. Just walking around. Over a three day period, I got tired of re-inserting the earbud. The iPhones do fall out occasionally, but not nearly as much as I experienced with the X3’s. What bothered me the most was the resonation bleeding through the cord. I could hear the cord moving across my head whenever I turned my head and could hear my footsteps as I walked. To mitigate the both the right earbuds falling out and minimizing the resonation from the cord, I tried the over the ear method, the standard behind the head method and even tried them with the cord facing forward under my chin. The best was the over the ear method, but, still experienced the above issues. I found the over the ear method took too long to get the cord over my ear and the earbuds seated in my ear properly. I also found that the cord did not stay behind my ear for very long. Conclusion. My ears are small, so this may contribute to the issues I found. I assume the resonation through the cord would be an issue with any wireless earbuds where the left and right are connected by a wire. The over the ear method of wearing the X3’s is a nice alternative, but did not work for me. These issues are not a defect in the design, they’re personal things I didn’t like. The sound is good but I just can’t justify spending $130 for wireless when my $30 (again, free with the phone) sound as good. I’ll keep the wired iPhone earbuds for now. There are many true wireless coming out where the left and right earbuds are not connected by any wire. That may be a better option for me. Or, I may opt to purchase the traditional over the ear type headphone. Not as portable, but would be more comfortable, easier and better sounding than any earbud on the market today. I wished they did work for me, I loved how small they are and how easily they fit in my pocket. Give them a try for yourself. Many people love them.

    Jaybird X3 beats Powerbeats 3

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

In my opinion the Jaybird X3 is a better set of headphones, and here is a list of reasons why. I owned the Powerboats 3 but returned them and purchased the Jaybird X3. 1. Price $129 Jaybird X3 Powerbeats 3 $199, I was able to purchase black ones on sale for $149 but still more. 2. Case, Jaybird X3 comes with a nice small case that closes to keep dust, dirt, etc. from ruining headphones. Powerbeats 3 comes with a flimsy rubber case with an opening that doesn't close. The headphones barely fit in rubber case, I felt like I was going to break headphones putting them in case. The rubber case attracts hair dirt which sticks to case by static. For $199 I expected a better durable case that closes. 3. Fit, this one is purely a case by case depending on each person's ear structure. The Powerbeats 3 fit nice over the ear and stay put no matter what exercise or sport you are doing. The ear buds dont stick in the ear canal, they sit right over the ear canal not making a tight fit for noise isolation. It also takes two hands to put on the Powerbeats 3 ear phones correctly, a pain when you have to take one off to talk to someone briefly. The Jaybird X 3 comes with twice the amount of ear bud options, 3 pairs of rubber and 3 pairs of dense foam ear buds in small, medium, and large. You also have the option to wear them over the ear. This for me is a better fit and makes the ear phones feel more secure when working out. 3. Sound, I am not an expert on sound quality but didnt hear much of a difference between the two. Powerbeats 3 is known for more bass in music. Jaybird X 3 has a free app that you can change the firmware to allow for more bass if you desire. This option is nice given the wide varieties of music I listen to. Powerbeats 3 has no app at all for the earphones. 4. Battery life and bluetooth range. Powerbeats 3 wins this battle over the Jaybird X 3. The Powerbeats 3 claims a 12 hour battery life and a bluetooth range of over 100ft while the Jaybird X3 has an 8 hour battery life and a bluetooth range of around 35 feet. I personally don't listen to music 12 hours at a time and my phone's battery dies before then anyway so the difference in battery life is not an issue for me. The bluetooth range was not an issue for me since I usally have my phone in my pocket or near me when Im listening to music. 5.Clips, the Jaybird X3 has a clip that shortens the length of the cord which help to secure the headphones to your head. It also comes with a clip to strap the earphones to the back of your shirt. The Powerbeats 3 only has a clip that cinches the cord to the back of your head which leaves a cord ponytail that will flop up and down while working out. The Jaybird X3 does need longer earbud options for those of us with longer ear canals to help with a better fit in the ear.
