Jaybird ponies up with WATERPROOF
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After shopping for a number of headphones and pondering to myself what exactly "sweatproof" is, we no longer have to worry. This latest iteration from Jaybird finally bellies up to the bar with a WATERPROOF design, and I love em. These fit very well, much better than the neckband style for running, there's still a cord connecting the two ears and off it hangs the mic and controls, but otherwise, there's nothing heavy to bang against your collarbone. These are a significant upgrade from their little siblings, the X3 which are only sweatproof and don't have the additional ear "wings" to keep them in place. Other features that I loved are the 10 min charge for 1 hour of listening time and the overall 8-hour battery life I think I've just slightly exceeded that now a few times. Overall these are well made, sound great, and I would recommend them as a good value in the world of running/workout headphones.

Please try these suggestions that can help to resolve the issue of your headset:
- Computers are the best and safest method, as is anything 1 AMP or less.
- Try a different power source/charger
- Car chargers produce a much greater power supply and should be avoided.
- Over-charging the battery will quickly reduce the life of the headphones, so in addition to monitoring the power supply, limit the charge time to 2 hours,
- To get the most out of your battery it is recommended to charge the buds when the low battery status is indicated.
- Avoid charging your headphones after exposure to sweat.
- Make sure charging port/cradle is clear of any debris.

Talking on the phone the mic doesn't pick up very well unless you're holding it up against your mouth which requires you to take that particular bud out of your ear.

If you’re getting complaints from the party on the other side of a call with your X4 earbuds, try the following as applicable:
-Use the included X4 shirt clip to keep the microphone or inline remote from swaying or rubbing on your clothing.
-If you’re doing something active, try pausing the activity for the duration of the call.
-If you are in the noisy area try moving to somewhere more quiet.
-Try bringing the microphone close to your mouth.
