This is a great little speaker. I wanted something that I could use on the tennis court when I play with a friend (recreation-ally) so we could both hear the music at opposite ends of the court. I had purchased the " JBL - Xtreme Portable Bluetooth Speaker" and it totally did what I wanted, but it was rather heavy in my bag. (I would guess around 5 pounds.) So I purchased this speaker instead. When you are that far away from the speaker, there was no discernible sound degradation. We could hear the music well enough, make out the lyrics and yet still yell/talk to each other across the court. While at a volume where we could hear the music well enough, yet still talk/yell to each other across the court, there was only a few clicks left until its volume was maxed out. At this level, playing (alternative rock) I did not notice any extreme degradation in the music quality. Maybe a tiny bit, but it was so loud, you couldn't stand there and talk and truly notice it.

Don’t make the mistake of buying “water resistant” speakers. I went through two of those before I finally decided on this bad boy. ( The steam alone in the shower disabled my previous speakers ) This one was a bit more $$$ But believe me you get what you pay for with portable speakers. Long battery life and excellent sound n bass. Plus you can pair it with other speakers like it. Definitely recommend.

Perfect speaker for me. I was looking for a portable bluetooth speaker with bass and clarity and this one has it all, plus its water proof! Compared to others alike (beats pill, bose soundlink), this one is the better option. If you want something more powerful check out the JBL Extreme.

I looked at several portable blue tooth enabled speakers before deciding in this JBL. I was impressed by the fullness and the built in sub woofers. I also like that it was waterproof which is nice because I like to take into a steamy bathroom while I am showering. I caught it on sale at a great price and that just closed the deal. I am a bit of a sound snob and with this speaker you won't be disappointed.

JBL speakers work fantastic! and offers a great bass sounds too which is rare to find in small portable speakers. These also connect very well to other JBL Charge 3 speakers and will connect to JBL Extreme speakers to help the music flow throughout the house and even outside.

Value for money. Amazing speakers. Great sound, water proof, and great battery back up.

Amazing sound for a speaker that size. Great lows and highs. I use it in my car for my daily commute. Love how it will last close to 20 hours on a charge. A bonus is that I can also charge my cell phone off it too. Another quality product from JBl.

This speaker has great sound, excellent bass response for its size, and connects very easily to my iphone via Bluetooth. It is waterproof and has a very long battery life. I have played it continuously for more than 10 hours and JBL claims in excess of 20 hours playtime.

I bought this unit on the fly after the non-replaceable battery on my Jawbone Big Jambox failed after less than 2 years of occassional use. I needed a unit in a hurry to use on a Classic Car Tour. I bought this JBL on the recommendation of a BestBuy employee. The sound is comparable to my Jawbone and my hope is that the battery life is far superior to the Jawbone, which was about $150 more expensive when I purchased it 2 years ago. The size is perfect for my needs. The only downside is that it didn't come with a carrying case. I found an aftermarket case that works nicely and wasn't very expensive. As of now, I am very satisfied.

Our son got a smaller version JBL speaker for his birthday and it sounds awesome. We decided to get 2 for our boat (place on either side or 1 in front, 1 in back) instead of having a radio/speakers installed. This is awesome sound while we're out on the water, on the beach, and even poolside. Sound is amazing and I like that if they accidentally get splashed or knocked in water, they aren't ruined.

Got this to go with an outside TV, but needed the flexibility to be able to hear sound when in the hot tub. Small, check. Bluetooth, check. Waterproof, check. Great sound quality, check. Again, this is exactly what I needed!!!

This is my first blue tooth portable speaker and couldn't be happier with my purchase. Both the treble and bass on the speaker are great and the sound can really cover a good size room. Very easy to pair up with all devices. I have paired it with my computer, phone and MP3 player with no issues at. Seamless performance. No need to spend extra for a Bose or a Beats. Go with the JBL Charge 3.

After watching and reading several reviews that compared JBL with other big brands I pulled the trigger on the JBL Charge 3. The differences between the Charge 3 and Charge 4 were not great enough for me to pay the extra money for the Charge 4. Sometimes you have to compromise between bass and clear mids when purchasing a portable speaker. That is not the case here. The mids are crisp and clear with good deep base. The IPX7 rating makes this a great speaker for the pool, beach, and on the boat. I am anxious to run my own test to confirm the 20 hours of playback time. Even if it is a bit short, this is ample time for my needs. Finally, I own a UE Boom 2 and Sony SRS-XB31 and this has better overall sound than both. I was so pleased with this speaker I purchased another 3 days later. Happy listening!

This speaker has great sound quality, is easy to use and can even charge your phone if the battery is running low. The smaller size makes it easy to transport, and it's water- resistant if you get caught out in the rain/snow with it.
