This a great sounding speaker with rich full sound. I have a flip 2 and this has a much better sound. It was a breeze setting up. Unlike my echo that took 30 painfull minutes. No crackling in my unit like others mention. I still returned this however. Read on. I purchased this speaker in hopes that I could use this alongside my Chromecast and have the Chromecast audio (sound, not device) stream back to my Link 10. Not the case. Unfortunately, it is not possible to cast Chromecast's audio to a Google assistant device. My current setup in my garage is a Chromecast on a computer monitor with aux out to my flip 2. This set up works but I wanted some automation to pause videos, play next, etc while im working. Opening up the google home app takes time. I think this is a big miss on Google's behalf. If there was an feature to cast audio from the Chromecast to a Google assistant speaker, it would great. That feature would also be so helpful in my master bedroom where we have a tv on our far wall. Vizio tv audio sucks, so we have to turn it way up or cast the audio to a BT speaker close to us using a BT transmitter. It would be awesome to have the feature of the Chromecast and Link 10 working as I mentioned I would like it to above. Maybe in the future. I also tried the Sony speaker with Google assistant because someone at BB told me it had an Aux, but it doesn't. The Echos are the only speakers with assistants that have an aux as far as I've seen. I will be returning this device too. It is a decent speaker but the Link 10 definitely sounded better. If anyone else has a recommendation on setup (monitor staying the same), I'd love to hear it.

I love this speaker, i use it in the shower and its great, was using a altec lancing lifejacket 3, it was good, but always had to make sure i setup my ipad first before going into the shower and turning on the speaker or it woulnd work..frustrating. Anyways, the other day, i was thinking of how nice it would be to hava a waterproof bluetooth speaker with the google, like my google max. So, i looked online, and found this JBL, bit pricey, but well worth it, i dont have to worry about setting up devices, just turn it on, let it connect, and just say hey google, or ok google, play x playlest and boom im jamming. Setup was super easy with google home app, took maybe 5 minutes. The quality is top notch, this thing has got some kick to it, great bass. Would highly recommend.

The JBL - LINK 10 Smart Portable Bluetooth Speaker with the Google Assistant built-in is a well-made, sturdy upright cylinder-shaped speaker. Its battery will last about 5 hours playing music fulltime. It recharges through a USB cord (provided) plugged into an electrical outlet having a USB port or through a USB port on your computer. You can leave it plugged in or unplug it to use it as you carry it with you. It has good sound quality and will play very loud at full volume. If you tap the power button lightly, the amount of battery charge left will display just above it. There is a WiFi strength indicator that stays lit while it's in use and anytime you say Ok Google or Hey Google another indicator will light up letingt you know she's listening. In addition, there are manual buttoms on top to activiate Google Assistant, pause or start music streaming or increase/decrease the sound level. In addition, Google Assistant is built-in. To set it up you need to get the Google Home app on your smartphone, open the app and then turn on the Link 10 through its power button. After a moment you just walk through the steps on your Google Home app to link to the JBL-Link 10 once the app detects it through your WiFi network. Once that's done, continue to follow the directions from the app to set up the Link 10 to connect to your Google Account through the internet. Once it's set up, you may have to reboot your Link 10. To play music from one of your devices to the Link 10 just pair it with your BT device(s) as you would any BT speaker. If you subscribe to a music service, you can link that as well so the Link 10 will stream your music from your service. Basically, the Link 10 is a portable BT speaker with Google Assistant. It works through BT for streaming music from another device, and Google Assistant connects through your WiFi to provide information and link to compatible smart devices in your home so that you may control them by voice. I found the setup to be easy through the Google Home App. While I'm not an expert with Google Assistant, I found "her" to be able to hear me most of the time from some distance away. A few times I had to raise my voice, especially if the music was playing. All in all, I found the Link 10 to be a nice BT Speaker/Google Assistant combination and would recommend it.

Stopped working out of the blue would not reccommend this product

First thing I found with the JBL LINK10 was the great packaging! Unit was very secure inside the upgraded packaging - which was very sturdy, colorful, and attractive. Second ... the setup instructions were so simple you felt like something had to be missing .. but it wasn't! Using the Google Home app on my S8+, setup was completed in seconds. Lastly and most important ... the quality of the sound from the JBL was far superior to others that I've heard ... crystal clear and it could get quite loud. I like the black color, which is unlike all the other Google Assistant speakers out there - at least what I've found. I'm using the JBL in my bedroom, where my husband hangs out and watches TV but he also likes his "tunes", and since JBL is simple to use, even HE can use it without getting frustrated! Like all the other Assistant products, it's simple to use ("Hey Google") but I wish there was another "name" you could use, especially when you have multiple Assistant devices in the house. Another high quality and fun JBL product. I thought about giving this to my daughter, but I think my husband will enjoy more! It's just too simple to use and I LOVE IT!!

There are many of these sorts of speakers on the market now, where either Amazon or Google license their assistants (Alexa and Ok Google, respectively) to 3rd party manufacturers to incorporate into their own speakers. This is a good thing as you're not limited to just Echos or Homes. With that out of the way, I think this speaker is nice. It sounds great, whether you're playing music directly from it (via the Assistant) or streaming music to it from your device (via Bluetooth). Plus, it has the Google Assistant built-in. Whether Alexa is better or Ok Google is better is a matter of debate and preference. Sometimes Alexa gets things right that Ok Google does not and vice versa. Regardless, I think this is a good speaker and assistant in a very crowded and competitive market.

Its only of use if u have a smart home i don't recommend at all

While it sounds good out of the box, hopefully you like how it sounds, because I can't find any equalizer (even a simple one that let's you adjust the base and treble) like you can with even the Google Home Mini. It's also missing phone call support. I'm not referring to the Google Home calling (although that's missing too), but Bluetooth speakerphone type of calling. It has everything you need to do it: speaker, microphone, and Bluetooth. Yet, for whatever reason, you can't use it as a simple speakerphone. It's also missing an AUX jack. This probably isn't a big deal for most people, but I would have liked to connected it to the TV in my bedroom for a little bit better sound. That said, I do find the sound to be fine for a portable smart speaker. And I did buy it on sale for the holiday weekend, so I'll put up with its shortcomings, hoping some might be addressed with an app or update. Plus, unlike most other smart speakers, it has a battery so I can unplug it and move it around without having to plug it in. And no, it doesn't come with the wall adapter, but I do have a few of those laying around.

I bought two Link 20's and one Link 10 from two different Best Buy locations, and all three have the same problem. Regardless of audio type (spoken word, classical, etc.), casting audio to these speakers comes with a subtle, quiet, not noticeable popping noise similar to what you might expect if there was a loose wire in an internal speaker driver. None of the other Google Home or Amazon Echo devices in my house have this problem. In fact, other JBL Flip 4 speakers connected to my Echo Dots do not have this problem. The problem is specific to the Link 20 and Link 10 and appears to be a fundamental problem with the device's electronics. Do not buy this speaker. It is too expensive to sound this bad, and it is not clear how the popping will affect the overall longevity of the device. I love the idea of the device -- effectively a portable Google Home -- but the popping simply cannot be ignored. I returned all three that we purchased. Also, I was disappointed that the Link 10 only includes a charging cable but no charger. The Link 20 also includes a 10W charger. So if you buy the Link 10, you should also buy a charger. At that point, you might as well just buy a Link 20 that's not much larger and has twice the battery life. Otherwise, the Link 20 sounds much bassier than the Link 10. I actually like the Link 10 sound better (it's somehow purer/clearer), but others may say the Link 20 fills the room better and may have an audio quality that is "warmer". Either way, they both have random and pretty frequent popping noises, and so I cannot recommend either.

I love how great this speaker sounds. Very full and detailed. The Google voice feature is cool too. A bit tricky to get it set up to work with other devices but once it's done, you're good to go.

This is such a cool toy! At first I didn't see much use for one of these in home assistants but after finding out what it could do for me I was hooked. My favorite use is in the morning before work asking it about my day I get the weather, news, and my commute time to work. When I want to listen to music I just ask it to play music and it seems to know what I like and the sound quality is excellent. I haven't had any popping noises or background noises like some others report on this device, maybe it's the quality of their wifi signal. I definitely recommend this one to anyone looking to buy one of these personal assistants.

I love everything about this speaker. The google assistant works great, the sound is amazing and the battery is decent. This will be my go to Christmas gift this year.

We previously only had a Google Home Mini — this JBL Link 10 is superior in every way. It sounds *amazing*, has a great microphone (no more shouting "Hey Google" multiple times to get an answer), and a 5-hour battery (though you can just keep it plugged it at all times if you want)! At full price, I'd opt for the JBL Link 20 (which sounds better and has double the battery life) since it's only $50 more, but I bought this Link 10 on sale for $60— a price so good that I just ordered 2 more.

The speaker is fantastic in sound and Google Assistant makes it so much better with voice control. It can be used to control other Google devices like Chromecast and the best part is that it is wireless unlike Google Home.

So I just bought JBL 10 2 days ago but I had to return it. Everything is good and I love functions, the sound and its design. However I can’t set an alarm with it at all, it always said something went wrong or it’s a glinch. The reminder and calendar don’t work either. So if you only want a excellent waterproof portable speaker that can play music by commands then it’s fine.

Unfortunately, I ignored the review on here about the device having static problems. I wanted to believe in this product so bad because it had everything I wanted - great sound, great mics and a battery. But that greatness did not last. Just past the 30 day return mark into using the speaker, suddenly the beginning of songs developed quite a bit of static - which ruins the main purpose for buying this expensive speaker. Also when using the voice commands to get Pandora music, the first request was ignored and I kept having to make a second request to get my Pandora station to play. The static does temporarily go away, but only after a factory reset and after setting up the Google Assistant. This seems to fix the problem, but only for a few weeks then the static is back throughout the song (for all music players including Pandora and Google Music) and the need for a second request to Pandora is back too. The static is also in Google Assistant's voice now sometimes too. When I have guests over and play music, it is now becoming quite embarrassing to listening to the static distortion music. I also have Google Home Mini. There are no problems with the mini. The mini has perfect sound and voice control. It is also 1/3 the price. I have contacted JBL Harman Customer Support. They are somewhat responsive, but no permanent solution. Support just keeps asking me to try different things. I tell them that Google Home Mini is working just fine doing the same exact things so there is definitely a defect with the JBL Link 10. I have asked for a full refund, but they keep asking me to troubleshoot their problem. Recommendations: Get a Google Home Link. It is much cheaper, the sound is pretty good, you can make phone calls (can't do that with the JBL Link 10), and use it to make voice broadcasts from your phone (again can't do that with the JBL Link 10).

The great sound of a JBL speaker plus the power of google assistant is a great combination. You'll enjoy this portable speaker

There is a bluetooth connectivity issue with Mac OS devices. The bass performance of the speaker is not upto the mark.

When I first got this speaker I loved it. I had issues with the speaker not charging properly, sound cutting off, choppy music. Had to return to the producer for a second speaker and had more issues. Can't get a refund and stuck with a defective speaker.
