    What a disappointment

    Was excited to get this as a gift. Then I tried to connect it. Spent 45 mins trying to connect it to Google home app. Spent another 30 mins researching google and forums and saw that this is a a common issue. Tried every quick fix now I cant get the thing to turn off. Tried the "restart" pin and nothing. Word of advice, the Google homes are pretty loud and connect to each other within seconds. If this connection issue is known why hasn't it been fixed yet? Save your money.

    THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! I bought a JBL Link 10 in December 2018 for my husband as a Christmas present. It work for about 3 months and then it would not hold a charge. I first contacted Best Buy (where I purchased it) and they told me to contact JBL. So I contacted Harman JBL and they offered to replace my speaker. I received the replacement and it worked for about 1 week. Same problem...it would not hold a charge. Again I contacted Harman JBL. After troubleshooting, they decided it was another battery problem and suggested a replacement. I asked for a refund since the last replacement also did not work. They said they would have to have a supervisor called me. I NEVER RECEIVED A PHONE CALL. Today I called them back and voiced my concerns and I was told that they cannot give a refund since it was bought from Best Buy. BUT THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE CRAPPY SPEAKER not where I purchased the speaker. DO NOT BUY A JBL PRODUCT! The products are cheap crap and if you have a problem, they will not help you!!!

    DESPERATELY NEEDS SOFTWARE UPDATES - BUYER BEWARE

    JBL, please update the software ASAP. I don't know how this item got so many positive reviews, given the atrosity that is the software user experience. For starters, it takes 2-3 times to boot it up successfully, with each boot taking 1-2 minutes. It simply freezes during startup requiring a restart. Also, I would say a good 50% of the software commands that work with an official first party google home product, including "Play Relaxation Sounds" prompt an error response from the google assistant. Its running OLD firmware/software verisons of Google Home. Was this product not tested before hitting stores???? Also, JBL has no app for this product. They have a slew of garbage apps on the app store, and need to overhaul/consolidate the experience to just ONE application that allows for equalization, pairing, software updates, warranty registration, and more. Other than that, sound is pretty solid and hardware design is nice. Battery life is short, but workable.

    Don't bother with any "smart" anything from JBL. I bought a Link 20 in February 2018. A few months later, it started popping and clicking during playback. Sent it in for a warranty exchange. Same problem with the new speaker. Used it as a dumb speaker (didn't connect it to WiFi), which fixed that particular problem. THEN earlier this week the charging port stopped working. Worst tech purchase I've ever made.

    I bought a few link series speakers to fill up my house, sound is good but support is lacking. DO NOT BUY if you are going to put it in your bedroom. The ok google set alarm feature DOES NOT WORK. It hasn't since the end of January 2018. JBL says a fix won't arrive until the end of April 2018. Stick with google products like the home max to stay up to date with the latest firmware if google assistant is important to you.

    Cons: Can not use for phone calls, bluetooth hub

    Do not buy if you want to use this with JBL Connect or Connect Plus (connect+). You can not use this as a speaker for phone calls in Wifi mode, nor in Bluetooth mode when your are outside. This can only play media sound and it will come up on your phone like that. Do not buy if you plan to use this as central connection point for other bluetooth speakers like the google home mini. Just go buy the google home mini if you want to connect other bluetooth speakers to it. JBL parent company has ZERO plans to do firmware updates to give you any good features. I requested support from Harmon International and they said, "I don't know." JBL 8500 Balboa Blvd, Northridge, CA, 91329-0002, United States Harman International Case # 02599937

    This piece of junk keeps resetting itself so it stops linking with all my other google devices. So twice a day or more I have to reactivate this crappy speaker through the Home App. JBL claims that it's a Google issue but all my other non Google devices have no problem staying connected up. A expensive lesson. Sending it to the thrift store heap.

    Does not connect to Google. Gets Stuck.

    When turning it on, it will get stuck to startup.. Only option is to factory reset which is not acceptable. Replaced unit twice with JBL and still the same symptoms persist. JBL has NOT tested this product before placing it in the market. Buyer beware.

    Speaker crackles and pops . . .

    Setup was easy, but the speakers crackle and pop randomly. Tested on WiFi, Bluetooth, on battery, on USB power, and with A/C adapter. Same result. Terrible flaw in an otherwise good product.
