This is my first portable speaker. The sound is amazing!!! The only issue I have with this product is the Google Assistant stopped working. It worked for about a month, then it went to hell afterwards.

It mysteriously developed a terrible static sound and vibration (like the speaker was busted). My assumption was that my children ruined it...so I bought a replacement. I have had the new one 3-4 weeks now and keep it out by my pool (since it is waterproof and weatherproof). But now the microphone is not working right. I have to get REAL CLOSE and YELL (OK GOOGLE) just to get it to pick up the voice commands. JBL is a great brand so I was hoping for better quality. Overall this is a great addition to my Google Home network but wished it was more dependable for outdoor use.

Posted .We really appreciate your feedback about our JBL LINK 20 speaker. Just to let you know, you should be able to get a response from the speaker at a conversational distance but this will also depend on the environment that the speaker is exposed to. If it is used indoors, it should detect commands without having to project your voice. If the speaker is placed outdoors, there may be a need to exert more effort in commanding since it is in an open air environment, but we're always looking for ways to improve so we'll make sure to forward you feedback to the right team.
