JLab, a world-renowned manufacturer known for quality earbuds, headphones & portable speakers, introduced the Go Party Portable Bluetooth Speaker. Measuring 8.27" H x 3.74" W x 3.07" D, it weighs a miniscule 1.452 pounds, while packing a room full of sound from two 2" speakers & two 2" passive radiators. A handy carry strap & volume control knob on top add to the ideal design. This is the perfect speaker for poolside or outdoor party fun & is IP56 rated for protection from dust, rain & high pressure water. Attractive RGB lighting is customizable using the free JLab app. The built-in rechargeable battery is estimated to last 16 hours without the RGB lighting & 8 hrs. with the lighting. My test found this battery life to be realistic. Pairing with Bluetooth could not be easier. Press the power button, then search your smartphone Bluetooth list for JLab Go Party. Touch your phone to connect, after which the app will search for a firmware update. The JLab app controls RGB lighting, LabSync to combine up to 100 Go Party Speakers, equalizer to optimize sound, and many other parameters. Bass Boost (Eq preset # 3) sounds the best to my ears for most listening. CONCLUSION: JLab Go Party Bluetooth Speaker is the ideal portable speaker with great looks & sound for music on the go, incredible Bluetooth range, & earns my highest recommendation.

The JLab Go Party Bluetooth speaker with RGB lighting is a surprisingly good deal for the price. It's perfect for personal listening, or background music at a get together. While you're not going to be winning any SPL competitions, or annoying neighbors with this one. It does have a decent sound quality, it just doesn't get very loud. It's just about what you would expect at this price. The controls are easy to use. The rotary dial for the volume and pause/play is a feature I like. And if you need more control over things, download the JLab app. There you get access to to the RGB lighting controls, equalizer, LabSync, music or movie mode, battery saver, voice prompts, and even check for firmware updates. The Go Party is IPX6 waterproof rated, so no need to worry if it get's wet, or left out in the rain. Just don't throw it into a pool, and you should be good to go. You get 16 hours of playback at 50% volume without RGB on, and 8 hours with it on. The charge port is USB-C, and you're going to have to source your own charge cord, because this speaker does not come with one. At this price point, you get a decent portable speaker with RGB lighting. You can even answer calls.

Exceeds my expectation for the price

This speaker has a very good price to performance ratio. The sound is not phenomenal, but it is a great all-round speaker for the price. Built Quality and Design The built quality is pretty nice. It has a handle to carry the speaker around and the bass speaker sits on the bottom of the device with enough clearance to bounce booming sound to the surface of the device. There is a circular LED lights on the top part of the speaker. It’s a well thought of design with quite nice sturdy build quality. This speaker looks and feels well beyond its price. Sound Performance The first thing to notice is that the speaker has plenty of volume for a medium-sized family room. The speaker isn’t very loud, but it’s easily heard on the second floor when music is playing downstairs. At this price point I don’t really have high expectation on the sound quality. The bass has enough oomphs and the highs are pretty good though somewhat dry. I prefer more prominent mids and dynamics. The speaker is also suitable for playing podcasts. Speech is clear with good fidelity. Overall, the sound performance exceeds my expectation for the price point. Final Thoughts This speaker is a great choice for those whose priority is great value over sound performance. A significant step up in terms of sound performance would probably cost triple the price. The volume is loud enough and it has enough bass to make music sound more exciting. Jlab consistently delivers strong value products. Pros: Great Value Ample of volume Bass has enough oomphs Cons: Highs are dry Mids are lacking prominence Lacking dynamics

I have always been a fan of the Jlab brand. I have owned numerous pairs of their earbuds, and I absolutely love them. This is the first time I have ever tried one of their Bluetooth speakers. Out of the box, I was actually pretty surprised at the build quality for this speaker based on the price. It has a very solid feel and feels like it was made from very good quality parts and plastics. There are a few push button controls on top as well as a volume wheel that you can also push the center to activate. With these controls you can play/pause the music, skip to the next track, cycle through different lighting and EQ settings as well as control the volume. There isn’t really much that you need the app for, but there is a companion app where you can do things like set custom EQ’s and customize the lighting a little bit. So, for appearance and functionality, there really isn’t much you can complain about with this speaker. I guarantee you though if you have it sitting on your desk with your water bottle, there will be times you reach to drink out of it as I have. It is pretty much the same size and look of a water bottle. The only discerning quality is the light ring around the top. I think I will have it off most of the time to conserve battery life, but it is kind of a cool feature that can be programmed for different things, or even to react to the sound that’s coming out of the speaker. Now lest get into the sound quality. For the price point, I didn’t have very high expectations. I tried a variety of different styles of music as well as the different EQ settings. All I can say is that the sound is very mid-heavy. You won’t get a lot of bass or very crisp and clear highs from this speaker. I tried everything I could and its just a very flat sounding speaker. If you go over 50% on the volume, you will also get some distortion as well as some clipping where the audio will kind of sound like its fading in and out whenever something like a bass drum hits that puts out more sound than the speaker can handle. With all that said, there is still a space for this speaker. IF you have it on 50% or less and do kind of a V-curve with the EQ, this speaker sounds decent. Its not going to fill a room with sound or give you nice thumping bass. But for a small office, bedroom, or kitchen to just listen to music in the background or maybe podcasts, this is a very good option and its priced really well too. So, it depends on what you want to use the speaker for. I found it sounded the worst with more modern metal and hip-hop and rap type music. If you listen to acoustic type music, classical, classic rock and things like that, you won’t have too many problems. Overall, for what it is, it’s a decent speaker. Just know that it does have limitations. Also, the battery life on this is great, you can easily have it playing all day long without having to charge it. They claim 16 hours and I can confirm that to be true.

the tldr; the JLAB Go Party is a great sounding portable Bluetooth speaker. The adio quality is incredibly good for the size as is the bass. I like the built in rubber carry handle, the large easy to adjust volume control knob, and that you can customize the RGB lighting with the free JLAB app. It's also IP6 rated, so perfect for when summer comes back around and I need a poolside speaker. In the box: - JLAB Go Party Speaker That's it, no USB-C cable is included (but we all have enough of them already!) Setup is easy, the JLAB Go Party pairs as a normal Bluetooth speaker, but you really should download the free JLAB app. It doesn't require registration but gives you control over the LED animation window, equalizer controls, etc. You can have unlimited fun with the RGB lighting combinations, I settled on equalizer mode where the lights respond more to the music. When I first used the JLAB Go with the app, it prompted me for a firmware update - this was fast and easy to ipdate. Then you can have some fun customizing the speaker. This includes changing the way the colors display (see screenshot) and also tweaking the equalizer. The icons for each color option are not really intuitive, but I figured it out - my only small gripe. What I found interesting is the app explains how JLAB lets you network a series of GO Party speakers together, a neat way to use up to 100 JLab speakers to cover a larger area (alas, I only have 1 JLAB Go Party). What I love most is despite the JLAB Go being soft to touch, it's IP6 rated - meaning come summer I can use it by the pool or at the beach, and not have to worry about it getting wet. Making the JLAB Go a fun true party speaker that I can enjoy as we celebrate new year and through to when summer is finally here again

The JLab - Go Party Speaker Bluetooth Speaker with RGB Lighting is a nice, what I would deem a small portable speaker. It has great functionality. It has good quality sound, not just a loud sound, but a quality sound. The bass is good, not great, but good considering that it is a smaller speaker. However the loudness is where it gets you. If I play this in my garage in my kitchen and I stand outside my front door, I can hear the music plain as ever. Without too much bass and too much treble, it is the perfect sound. It was fairly easy to set up with my phone. The application itself is somewhat misleading. I thought if I paired the speaker to the app, then it was paired to my phone, when in fact that is not the case. The application found the speaker, but the speaker was not paired to my phone, where it could be detected as a speaker. What I would suggest is turning on the speaker, pairing it to your phone, and calling it good. The only purpose for the application is for the equalizer, and if you would like to pair it to another portable speaker. The turn style knob on the top of the speaker for volume control is great. I do enjoy that feature a little better than searching for a button. The lighting on the product is fairly bright and of course colorful. Overall I would highly recommend this, as a matter of fact I may buy another one so I can have two outside when working (Although the neighbors might not like my taste in music). Enjoy the speaker, enjoy your music.

The JLAB - Go Party portable bluetooth speaker is a super budget RGB clad portable speaker with a dial, buttons, and sound that’s extremely basic, but acceptable depending on your case. Looking for a quick purchase speaker to take on that camping trip? This probably fits the bill. For those expecting high quality powerful audio, I’ll say it right now: look elsewhere. JLab’s offering is entry level, with a price to match. If you take it for what it is, it offers extraordinary value. First of all this is, in the vein of JLab products, a very lightly packaged product. It’s wrapped in tissue paper inside a small JLab blue paper box. That said, when you get the product out, it feel very high quality. Most of the surface is clad in a soft but durable fabric. The top eighth or so of the device is clear plastic with a diffuser underneath capped with a plastic/rubber top. The top houses the buttons and dial. The dial is very satisfying and changes the volume level with no lag. Pushing the dial in play/pauses or does pairing. Flanking the dial are the next/previous buttons, as well as the power button - all of which have a satisfying click. Flipping the speaker over shows us the passive radiator which vibrates to help create the thump (what little there is). Pairing is easy enough, and JLab even offers a companion app which is quite comprehensive for the budget level of this speaker. The app offers a 10 band parametric equalizer that does greatly affect the output. There are 3 presets (JLab Signature, Balanced, and Bass Boost) as well as a custom slot for your tweaking. Also in the app is lighting control, which is one of the cooler features. The lights do a good job being responsive to the music, and offer several lighting effects. The effects are setup to be very rainbow friendly, but you can knock any of them down to a set of colors that are more your flavor (either by disabling the color, or changing it to a hue you want). Labsync is their setup for multi-speakers. This does seem quite easy, although I do not have another speaker to test with. The speaker offers music and movie modes, with better sync in movie mode (at the expense of audio quality). I listened to a few youtube videos and didn’t find the lag very noticeable in either mode. That said, the speaker was well paired with entertainment watching like this. Sound quality wise we are limited by the price point. The dual drivers pump out loud enough sound, but quickly distort when the volume is pushed. The passive radiator does a decent job producing bass, but it seems tuned somewhat poorly. Especially at higher volume, it tends to get overwhelmed. The speakers tend to shriek at these higher volumes. If we step back the volume a bit, the sound is more than adequate for basic listening, youtube watching, and more. The key is this device really fits personal listening more than party on the go that it advertises itself for. Overall, this is an amazing deal for the price point. The build quality is solid, the sound is adequate, and the battery life (from what I’ve used) has been great. I have no hesitation recommending this for personal listening and basic outdoor listening (in quiet environments). If you are considering a pair of these, I’d push that budget a bit higher for a better single speaker, but that said JLab’s Go.

    Fun & lightweight portable speaker

The JLab Go Party Speaker Bluetooth Speaker with RGB Lighting is a fun, lightweight speaker easily carried about (from party to party or otherwise) with the attached wrist strap. Speakers at this level wouldn't ordinarily be expected to deliver great sound, but this one pushes those limits. The sound from this isn't at all tinny or cheap sounding - it provides full and balanced sound. You can even make adjustments within the app to the EQ - there are the fairly standard 3 settings: bass boost, balanced & their "signature" setting. They do allow 1 custom setting so make it how you like it! That's what I did. Yes, there is a JLab app that allows a few adjustments that made this speaker's use more enjoyable to me. Do you want to get rid of, what I consider to be, the annoying voice prompts when you make any changes within the app - just turn it off in the app. Don't feel like seeing those RGB lights right now - turn them off in the app. And there's even more than can be done within the app. A lot of adjustments are made at the top of the speaker itself - you are able to adjust the RGB lighting to 6 different settings to personalize the pattern, frequency and color. I don't normally enjoy the RGB lights and find it distracting - but I am liking watching these lights dance along to the beat. You can also forward a track, pause or go back with the press of a button and turn the volume down or up via the knob. And you are able to turn this speaker UP! No crackles - it just maintains that great sound. This is only 10 watts, but it cranks. You can take this speaker almost anywhere - because it has IP56 rating, It is protected from the entry of dust and, don't submerge it in water, but it can take a splash from a jet spray! It charges with a USB-C cable, which is surprisingly NOT included. When fully charged, it can play for up to 8 hours when using the RGB lighting and up to 16 hours without the RGB lighting. Having a big party? You could sync up to 100 of these speakers together to get the same sounds and lights. And if you have 2 of these, you can set them up as a "2-channel stereo system". This JLab Go Party Speaker Bluetooth Speaker with RGB Lighting is a winner for me. I am enjoying the sound it produces very much. I appreciate its ease of use and simplicity and I like that I can take it anywhere with it's long-lasting charge. And the app clearly shows me the charge remaining, so there are no surprises. It will even turn off the RGB if it gets low (according to your settings) and if it sits unused but on, it will turn it off completely after a period of time you set in the app. For this price-point, this is an absolutely outstanding speaker and I would highly recommend it to those looking for a portable go-anywhere speaker.

This JLAP “Go Party” portable speaker has a good sound for smaller areas where you aren’t looking to bring down the house. It filled my living room at a higher volume and once I tweaked the equalizer with the JLAB app on my phone, I got it to sound just how I like it. The box contains the speaker and some directions to get you started that are typed on the inside of the box with a QR code to point you to a full manual should you need more information. I was a little surprised that a USB-C cord wasn’t included. I’m sure for most people this won’t be an issue but, if someone isn’t overly familiar with connectivity options or doesn’t have a lot of other technology, they may not have an extra one laying around that can be used for charging. When I powered it up, I was pleasantly surprised that the speaker was fully charged allowing me to connect and use it right away. It went into paring mode at power up and my phone immediately saw it. Because I have another JLAB product, I was already familiar with their app but if you don’t have it, be sure to download it to your phone or tablet, you’ll be able to tweak some of the sound settings and update the firmware, which mine did right away. The speaker is under a foot tall and a cylindrical shape that doesn’t take up much space at all. It has two full-range drivers and two passive woofers giving you some excellent stereo sound. On the top are the typical controls for playing, pausing, changing the track forward or back and a knob that you use for volume and pausing or playing the current media. There are also lights built into the top that you can change to different patterns which sync with the beat of the music. It boasts 16 hours of battery life but goes down to around 8 while the lights are on so just keep that in mind if you are trying to use it for a full day. Other features include the ability to setup multiple speakers in what is called “Labsync” allowing up to 100 JLAB speakers to be connected and synced at one time. There is a built-in microphone so you can use it to take calls or record memos. Additionally, it is rated at IP56 to make it water resistant which will keep it going in rain, on the boat or if it gets some water on it when by the pool but, it is not fully submersible. Overall, at this price point, with its compact size, battery life, and customizable sound options, you won’t be disappointed with this as an additional speaker for when on the go or just hanging out in a smaller contained area.

I love that as soon as I turned on the speaker, it said ready to pair. Right away my laptop recognized it and asked if I wanted to connect to it. It connects right away to my phone and another laptop too. It’s suppose to be waterproof but I haven’t tested that out. I’ve taking to the bathroom while showering and the sound is so great that I leave it bathroom countertop and can still hear it loud and clear with water running in the shower. The controls are right on top and it includes a large knob for the volume. Going between play/pause is convenient just by pushing down the large volume knob. It’s easy to carry but I wouldn’t say totally lightweight. It was a little heavier than I expected and I feel that helps with it’s sturdiness. It definitely is portable, making it easy to take along to the beach, gym room or anywhere. Battery is pretty good and lasts a long time. I was trying to time it but then got distracted but I believe it’s close to the 16 hours they say. It also doesn’t take long to charge before you can use it again. It can only connect by bluetooth which works for me and makes sense since it’s portable, but I was telling a friend about it and he asks about that so I figured it might be good to know before purchasing if that’s important to you. It is easy to use app for personlizing the lighting, EQ, voice prompts, etc. I’ve only used the app a couple of times but good to have many options. For this price point, it's a great speaker with great sound for every day use.

Really nice portable speaker. It feels well built and has some heft to it. Little con is there was no charging cable included at all. It uses a type C USB port to charge. Setting it up was super easy, turn on and goes into Bluetooth pairing mode, my phone picked it up immediately. If you want, you don't need to do anything else and start using it. However, if you download their Jlab app, you can further customize it, and more importantly, update its firmware (there was an update) which generally fixes hardware issues. With it you can also change its RGB lighting (really nice, has a nice diffuser on it), to different lighting modes (I like the music eq one). It also has EQ modes you can change too and its Labsync feature, where you can pair it with other Jlab speakers in tandem. You can also tune its battery saver where it will auto shut off after certain time of inactivity. You can use voice prompts too. I also love the easy control on the top, it has a wheel that spins for volume and buttons for play, pause etc. Now, onto the audio quality, I was greatly surprised at the nice amount of bass it has, for such a little speaker, it does sound boomy and clear. I love that is water resistant and its USB port has a nice plastic cover to avoid water going inside. Great little speaker for pool parties or just on the go. Only con is its not google home compatible, that's it. (oh, and no charging cable included).

While there are some really nice Bluetooth speakers out there as well as s-so ones, I like this one as it sits very nicely on the lower end of this spectrum without being too cheesy. J-Lab makes some decent budget oriented products so seeing Bluetooth speaker is no surprise. It won’t break the bank but works very well considering the price point. It’s about the same height as two soda cans. If you have a travel coffee mug, it’s about the size of one of those so this is both very lightweight and portable. Really simple set of buttons on this; power button, volume up/down and a knob. Everything can controlled on the speaker/phone as well as the companion app. RGB is kinda cool but can be a tad annoying at night. Can only be shut off through the app. Convenient rubberchnadle attached to the speaker and its water/weatherproof so you can use it outside. Battery life seems pretty decent on this. It’s rather at 15-ish hours or so. Can definitely get days worth out of this. Also, if you use/download the app. It also has some ambient noise sounds too.

JLab Go Meh - Small Mixed Bag

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

When it comes to bluetooth speakers you want a lot of sound in a small package. JLabs is a well known brand and the expectation was solid going into reviewing the Go Party speaker because it was exactly what I wanted. Go Party is less than 10 inches tall and about 3 inches around, about the size of a large Monster Energy can, give or take, so you can easily fit it in a bag or on a cluttered shelf or desk without too much hassle. One of the big draws for me was the RGB strip around the top which I believed would sync up with the music, and the large battery life. While the size is very convenient I found the sound lacking at higher volumes. There are four preprogrammed profiles: Balanced, Bass Boost, JLab Signature, and Custom (which is flat across all the sliders out of the box and then you set it up how you like through the app). When listening to music in a quiet room around 20-30 my music and podcasts were clear and easily heard without any noticeable “muddy” sound. When I tried to play music louder in the living room while we cleaned up after the Christmas chaos though it seemed like anything we put it from rap to rock to showtunes (I never want to hear Epic: The Musical again, thanks kids) seemed flat. I tried to adjust the custom settings and that made it a bit better but it was disappointing for a speaker with an optimized sound profile and named PARTY to have such disappointing sound at high volumes. Obviously this is my own ear so it's hard to give a broad spectrum opinion, just maybe try to get a demo before you buy. As for bells and whistles, that RGB strip can be customized with the app on your phone. There’s seven lights inside and out of the box it will rotate around the speaker in a rainbow spectrum, however you can change any of those seven lights to the color of your choosing with a color slider. There’s also sliders for brightness and speed of rotation, which I found useful when used at bedtime for audio books since the default full power brightness is pretty bright in a dark room. Finally there are six profiles of light patterns, one of them will kind of sync up with your music and go faster for rock or fast songs and slower for slow songs. The others are just various forms of flashing: pulsing, spinning, spinning left then right, or a fade in and out. There is a carry strap on the back for transport but, and this is the most MINOR of issues, my black speaker has a blue strap…just kind of doesn’t match the aesthetic but it seems sturdy enough. The package also says you can connect other JLab speakers together through the app to enhance your party atmosphere, which is really cool but since I only have the one I’ll have to take their word for it. The battery was charged when I got it over a week ago and hasn’t quite gone down 30%, I’m estimating it should work for over ten hours or longer at that rate which is amazing! So overall I would recommend this for basic use around the house but I don’t believe the sound quality is at a standard I would want for anything professional or too high a volume like, for example, a PARTY. The battery is great, the size is wonderful, and the programmable light bar around the top adds some flair that makes this a great novelty speaker that I plan to leave in my kids room for their music and audio book needs but it won’t be our main sound system for parties, gatherings, or the soundtrack to cleaning up from holiday festivities.

    Average Sound, Plenty of Volume

I had to replace a portable bluetooth speaker I have had for years because it won't hold a charge anymore. The JLab Go Party looked fun. Unfortunately, I am not thrilled with the out-of-the-box sound quality. While it does get nice and loud and has nice features like the RGB color bar and the ability to pair up with other JLab bluetooth speakers to create a multiple speaker audio environment, the initial sound is too "transistor radio" for my liking. However...there's an app to improve the sound quality. I am not a fan of having to install an app to adjust every audio device I own, but I definitely needed the JLab app to keep me from giving up on this well-priced Bluetooth speaker. Upon downloading and launching the app, finding and pairing the speaker with my (Pixel 9) phone was very easy. While you could bypass the app and rely on simultaneously push both the forward and backward buttons on the speaker to move through pre-configured EQ settings (i.e. Bass Boost, Balanced, JLab Signature--which sounded like a hollow/distant version of the out-of-the-box sound), the app lets you get granular. For example, I found that Bass Boost muddies vocals too much. The only way to fix that is with the app which allows you to tweak the bass/mid/treble to any level you want. Unfortunately, it appears you cannot edit the pre-set EQs and JLab only allows you to save one custom EQ, as best I can tell. Also in the app are options to control the light show, turn battery saver options on/off (i.e. power down after 5 minutes idle --or-- turn off the LED lights when the battery is <25%). All in all, good speaker for the price, especially if it gets 16hrs (w/o the light show, 8hrs with the light show) as promised in the literature. I find the VOLUME KNOB to be the best feature. The overall size is a bit larger than I wanted for toting to the beach. Basically, it is a 20oz water bottle in size and weight (3" diameter, 8.25" height, 1.5lbs). It is IP56 waterproof (i.e. splash or "water blast" proof...but not fully submersible). Definitely NOT a bluetooth speaker for an audiophile, but a recommended choice for a budget consumer looking for battery longevity and blinky lights.

I purchased these as prizes for the white elephant game, and they were a hit. Good quality and the teenagers loved the vibrant colors. This is a good value for the price. I actually purchased three for the game.

balanced aesthetics with performance, and I think I found the sweet spot… incredibly reasonably priced, sound clarity is impressive, and it is a stunning shade of pink—vibrant enough to pop on my shelf but soft enough to look sophisticated
