I didn't want to get cell phones for my kids, because I think they are still too young for it. However, they are at the age where they are not with us through most of the day so I want to be able to reach out to them or they can reach out to me in an instant. I did my research and settled with the Cosmo Jr Track 5. I'm glad I did because this is excellent for the most part. It works as intended and it shows me where my kids are through the app and gps. They are able to call me and send messages. I've locked it down to where only certain family members can reach out to them. My only complaints are the battery life and it is a bit bulky. My daughter's petite so these look huge on her wrist. The battery does not last all day. She has to charge it as soon as she gets home from school to finish off the day, then again over night. But those 2 complaints won't stop me for recommending it

Outstanding first step for teaching a pre-teen how to correctly manage a phone. Only wish it was easier to review their text conversation.
