This game is so much fun to play on your own and it’s even better with friends. There is so much content in Kirby Air Riders. You have 4 main modes to play in: Air Ride (standard racing mode), City Trial (battle), Top Ride (racing from a top-down perspective), and Road Trip (Story Mode). There are so many things to collect: characters, machines (karts), tracks. And also Miles (in-game currency) that you earn from playing and can use to purchase cute outfits for your Riders! There are also tons of challenges to complete and you are rewarded with unlocking the previously mentioned things and also with Miles. You’re also able to customize your Air Ride Machines and there is much room for creativity! There’s even more features besides this but I don’t want to go on for too long. I highly recommend this game and definitely think you get your money’s worth. There is a lot to do!

If you loved Kirby Air Ride in 2003, you'll positively adore this sequel. For those unfamiliar with the series, it may take some getting used to, but if you suspend your expectations and take in what it offers, you'll be surprised with a delightful experience that is as deep as it is wide in serving content. From a robust online offering to a satisfying single player campaign and offline modes, the game caters to however you want to play. A variety of racers, costumes, and vehicles keeps things constantly fresh, and the customization allows users to express their own creativity or enjoy the work of others. This is a must pick up for Switch 2 owners.

Kirby Air Riders is pure fun from the moment you start your first race. The controls are really simple, so it’s easy for anyone to pick up, but there’s still enough depth with different machines and powers to keep it interesting. The tracks are bright, creative, and packed with little shortcuts that make you want to replay them to see everything. Local multiplayer has been a blast in my house and it’s the kind of game you can play for 10 minutes or an entire evening. If you like Kirby or arcade-style racers, this one is an easy recommendation.

The original Kirby Air Ride was my favorite Kirby spinoff and one of my favorite gsmes overall. I never thought we'd get a new one, but it was something I always did want. This new game has far exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend it for someone wanting a more unique multiplayer game, or anybody who already enjoyed the original. Honestly my Game of the Year 2025, but I admit I'm very biased, this game's existence was a pipe dream for me.

I was a huge fan of the Gamecube original so when this was annouced I was very excited. This game improves upon the original in every way. Fast gameplay and sense of speed, large roster of characters and beatiful visuals that really show off the Switch 2. If you love kart racers definitely check this one out!

It’s peak. Takes some getting used to if you’re used to MarioKart but I’d say it’s better in almost every way, with the only downside being it may be too fast-paced for inexperienced gamers. It’s like playing MarioKart on 200cc.

My son picked this game out (he is 4). We have played other Kirby games but this one was too difficult. So fast paced and he couldn’t keep up with the pace. For 80 dollars I regret this purchase. This is for people who liked the GameCube version and are older. But for me, I don’t have that nostalgia.

If you played the original gamecube game, you’ll love this sequel, as it not only polishes up what cane before, but adds a lot of new content as well, like a single player campaign or multiple playable characters from the series. The controls are tight and the gameplay can get incredibly fast (specifically in city trial), requiring you to understand how each air ride vehicle works in order to take full advantage of both the vehicle and your environment. Overall, I found it to be a really fun game in both single player and multiplayer and there is a lot to come back to.

Great racing party game. Was the system seller for me as I loved the gamecube Kirby AirRiders so much that I was thrilled to hear about the new one. I am happy to inform it delivers on all fronts. The graphics, while improved for HD screens, feels like the old game. The city trial feels familiar yet new, with expanded areas to go and explore increasing the chaos of the match. The addition of having a large cast of characters, more vehicles, and tons of AI make for a blast in this game. The one sad thing is it is limited to 4 players at once, but maybe thats good as so much happens on the screen it would be hard if they cut up the sections even more. I am still finding more things in the game every time I play, and having good simple fun as I did all those years ago. My favorite racing game of 2025.

If you grew up playing Kirby Air Ride on the GameCube and have been waiting years for Nintendo to finally acknowledge it, Kirby Air Riders on the Nintendo Switch 2 feels like a love letter written directly to you. The best part? They didn’t break the formula. This isn’t one of those sequels that tries to reinvent everything. Instead, it keeps the simple, addictive, one-button fun that made the original so iconic, while adding just enough fresh design to make it feel modern. Controls are tight, machines are responsive, and the classic “easy to learn, impossible to master” glide-based movement is still here in full force. New machines blend beautifully with returning favorites, and the new maps slot right in alongside the classics—nostalgic players will feel immediately at home, while newcomers get a smooth intro to the chaos. Nintendo also made some extremely welcome quality-of-life choices: Download Play between Switch 2 systems No need for everyone to buy a copy—just like the good old days of DS download share. Local split-screen multiplayer It’s shockingly rare now, but Air Riders embraces couch chaos. Four players on one screen feels exactly as hectic and joyful as it did in 2003. A new Story Mode A surprisingly fun addition that adds replay value without pulling attention away from the core Air Ride/City Trial gameplay loop. If you loved the original, this one hits all the same dopamine buttons: fast races, ridiculous power-ups, the thrill of City Trial, and that signature Kirby charm. It’s just as fun today as it was back then—maybe even more so with the Switch 2’s performance and modern additions. Highly recommended for any Kirby Air Ride fan. Nintendo finally brought it back, and they absolutely did it justice.

This game is not a remake/remaster but it is very much a lot of the original game again, in a good way. Some of what is new is great, and some of what is new is not so great. Overall this is one I will play from time to time but I don't love it as much as the original game. The main issue is city trial. Being chaotic was always a major appeal of the mode, and it is by far the most interesting mode for most people they spend the most time in. The problem in this title is the cranked the craziness up to 11 in city trial and it becomes too much to keep up with. Once you get some top speed upgrades you usually start going around the map too fast to properly take everything in and you don't have enough time to make decisions about where to go and what to get as much. The mode turns into a lot more of quick reactions instead of any sort of planning or thinking about what to do. You zoom around and miss so many boxes or power ups that you didn't see until you're past it. This makes the mode a lot less fun for most people cause you don't feel so much in control as you do just being along for the ride. The other two modes are more of the same, and some fun but not significantly better than the original and nothing too stand out from any other racer. One new addition is the rogue like mode added with a story. It's kinda good but very long and a lot of the content is a little underwhelming or really short. A run can take 2 hours but a decent amount of it isn't all that fun. Some part are but for how long a run is the great parts get overshadowed by the boring parts usually. I love the original and I like this game, but it did not overall captivate me as much as I hoped.
