Doesn't clean well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a fairly high end dishwasher that had all the nice options we wanted, such as 3rd rack and even bottle washers. It looks nice and has plenty of space to fit all of our items for a big family. However, the one thing it didn't do well is the most important part: clean dishes! Every load seems to come out with some "gunk" on at least one item. Also, requires manually cleaning the filter. We are returning.

Dishes still dirty
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am extremely disappointed with this dishwasher. It cleaned well the first few times now it is horrible. I have to completely wash off my dishes in order for them to be cleaned. I just did a load and the plates still have food on them. I did my research. I had an LG before which is known for breaking down. I decided on Kitchenaide as they were rated well and am now upset that it is doing such a crappy job at cleaning my dishes. I like the 3rd row and I like how the shelves glide effortlessly compared to Bosch but I want my dishes clean

I don’t know
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered this thinking I wanted it but ordered the Bosch instead because the pronks to hold your dishes are too far apart from each other

Not worth the money
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After reading reviews I chose the Kitchen Aid over the Bosch. Most reviews talked about how well the Kitchen Aid cleaned and dried, this has not been my case. I made the wrong choice. Although the Best Buy reviews were almost identical for both and more than enough reviewers, the Consumer Reports gives it a 63 vs the Bosch 500 an 82 and the Bosch Accend a 84 which is a much cheaper model. I have had a good dishwasher before and do not expect to have to wash my dishes after they have been washed. Many reviews spoke of having to figure out the best combination of buttons to push to accomplish the best wash, I have yet to figure that combination out. I was excited about thinking I had made the best purchase only to find out different. The machine looks great in my kitchen, but I’m looking more for clean dishes for the $1000.00 I paid.

Disappointed
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My last kitchenaid was great! This one, the plastic pieces inside keep falling out And the buttons are a pain! If your hands are wet or slippery at all, the buttons will now respond. And the hole to put in the rinsing aid is so small you will never not spill. This thing was not cheap either!!

From decent to bad
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very silent and cleaned ok for the first 60 days. As others have mentioned, the buttons on the top are super finicky. Cleaning degraded over the following year. Water started leaking about 18 months in, followed by the drain pump going bad, and now the water is leaking again. Oh plus geek squad installed it wrong, causing four trips for the first two repairs, now refusing to replace under the lemon policy. I suggest skipping BB and KitchenAid for dishwashers. I wish I had gone with the Bosch options.

It is very quiet but not very good at cleaning
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is always some residue left on the dishes at the end of the cycle, it is not worth the money. My 20 year old GE was better at cleaning.

QUIET! Really MUCH better than "basic" dishwasher
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Didn't realize that a $700 dishwasher would get everything so much cleaner than a basic model. It should be used with what is called a platinum soap pad, not old-fashioned powder or liquid. The only way you know that it is running is by looking at the status tab. I haven't timed it, but it does seem to take quite a bit longer to run through all the cycles. It is stainless steel in and out. We have had it for about a month.

After 4 years, Review/Repairs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent Dishwasher. Extremely quiet. After four years it started to leak and had to replace the sump ($65+tax) and two small clamps that you are forced to brake to replace the sump. The clamps should not cost more than 5 dollars to make but the manufacturer sells them for $62.45+tax. Yes, I know. I did repairs myself which were fairly easy after watching a few videos on YouTube. For a DIYer this is a 2–3-hour job. You will need to put dishwasher on the side to make the repairs. Total cost $136.36 which is less than buying a protection plan.

Not Happy with Dishwasher
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this Kitchen Aid dishwasher due to being rated very high and made in the USA, Disappointed, middle drawer flimsy and wobbles. Cleans well and very quiet, Does not dry dishes, Dry Aid was added. top drawers plastic lids full of waters and others drawers also. Not happy with this. Have returned and purchase top of the line KDTM804ESS, Hoping the additional monies will correct the problem. Salesman was surprise it didn't dry, if this is the case why do people complain about the Kitchen Aid drying problem? If this does not work not sure what we will do. My old GE did a better job and it was 8 years old. Hoping for the best for $2000.

Posted .Hello Rich! Please make sure that you are using a Rinse Aid with your unit. Your dishwasher is designed to use rinse aid for good drying performance. Without rinse aid, your dishes and dishwasher interior will have excessive moisture. The Heat Dry option will not perform as well without rinse aid. For most water conditions, the factory setting will give good results. However, if you are experiencing poor drying performance, you may want to try a higher setting. Turn the arrow adjuster inside the dispenser to change rinse aid setting.

Does not meet my cleaning standards
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.HATE... THIS... DISHWASHER!! 3rd rack items do not get clean and you can only put flat items on it, silverware in basket doesn't get all the way clean (especially peanut butter will not come off). Don't waste you money or space on the 3rd rack, we were hoping to use it for lids, but they just collect the dirty water and do not get clean.I even tried putting my silverware on it, but it didn't get clean either and there was a film on it. I am so disappointed in this dishwasher. The one benefit is that it is really quiet.

Never Kitchenaid again
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nothing but problems with this dishwasher, specifically the keypad controls. We regularly have to reset or unplug. We’ve had costly repair. Now it is finally dead - yes the keypad - and we can get this miserable piece of junk out of the house and buy something quality.
