This is a solid metal piece of kitchen aid equipment. I knew the plastic one would last as long so I decided to purchase this one and glad I did. It grinds meat with no problem. I mainly purchased this to grind up different meats for my dogs because I cook their food. Since one of my furbabies became ill after eating a holistic food brand and another started losing her fur after eating the same companies treats. I decided to change their diet and fix their food and treats myself. I knew I needed a meat grinder to achieve what I was trying to do. I am very happy with this device and glad I made the choice to buy this grinder. I have blenders and food processor but this does a better job.

The heavy-duty metal build feels rock solid and attaches easily to my stand mixer, turning it into a serious grinder. The included fine, medium and coarse plates make everything from burgers to sausage link work a breeze. Pre-chilling the attachment ensures a clean grind and I’ve been impressed with how well it handles tougher meats with zero issues. Cleanup is straightforward and the storage case keeps everything organized. If you already own a KitchenAid mixer and want to upgrade your meat game, this attachment is absolutely worth it.

I see this thing used a lot on cooking shows and decided to take the plunge and get one. Short version: really great idea. I'll be the first to say some of the KitchenAid attachments are garbage, but this one actually is an A+ for me. While it does leave a tiny bit of meat leftover that can't get pushed through the grinding plate, it's not enough to worry about. I was able to grind 2 pounds of short ribs in about 5 minutes and cleanup took about as long since the whole thing disassembles easily. Parts feel solid and like they won't get metal shavings in my food, so that's cool too. I"ve used it a couple times now and see no sign of wear or tear. I do recommend freezing the grinder parts for about 3-4 hours before use and definitely letting the meat firm up in the freezer for at least 30-60 minutes prior to grinding, but it will work if you don't do that, just not quite as well. If you want to grind your own meat at home or want to get it for someone who might (ex. hunters), I recommend this if you already have a KitchenAid mixer laying around. Don't forget to check if it's compatible with your model of mixer!

I had the old plastic grinder for a number of years and wanted to try the new metal grinder. The difference is night and day. First of all the plastic grinder would leave small black bits from time to time and there is none of that with the metal grinder. The metal grinder has a bigger tray and bigger opening and also comes with three grinding dies plus a sausage stuffer. The plastic grinder has two dies and no stuffer. It seemed to me that I was able to grind a bit faster with the metal grinder. I like to place my grinder in the freezer prior to grinding and because this is metal will stay colder longer than the plastic grinder.

This works a lot better than the cheap plastic ones on the market. Easy to clean and really does a great job grinding your meats. Worth the money since you can get a pork loin cheaper than ground pork.

This grinder is faster than my old white one! And it is easier to clean! I make a lot of ham salad in the summer and it is a piece of cake with this attachment. I like every thing it can do to save me time. My old grinder cracked at the base on putting it on. I would recommend the new one, love it. Very glad I ordered it. Thanks

I used to feel disgusted eating store bought ground beef and decided to buy this metal grinder to make my own and I love it. No more hard bits and pieces in my ground beef, texture is great, tastes so much better and I know exactly what I'm eating. You have to invest a little bit of time grinding meat and cleaning parts afterwards but it's totally worth it.

This stand mixer from Kitchen Aid is such a nice addition to our kitchen. It’s powerful, easy to use, and well built. Attachments are easy to swap, and the ability to use grinders, pasta makers etc. has us using it more than we thought.

I used per the instructions and others recommendations for grinding up meat for burgers, sausage, meatballs, meatloaf etc. I was surprised how good everything came out, better than ground meat I buy at supermarkets, it does add flavor, tenderizes and saves some money. You can adjust the fat content of your ground meat by adjusting how much of the fat you use or remove from the chuck steak, sirloin, etc when grinding. I do enjoy using this grinder, very sturdy easy to clean.

I had a hand crank meat grinder that clamped to a counter, which was such a pain that after using it a few times I gave up on grinding my own burgers. That is until the kitchenaid. I am happy to have gotten the metal version over the plastic as it gives me confidence in its durability, and while there is definite clean-up involved, it is so much more convenient than the hand-cranked grinder it replaced.

First off I completely forget that Best Buy has an appliance section. When you are searching for this product you find two versions; a plastic one and this metal one. After reading the reviews of the plastic one I knew we wanted to metal version for durability. Complete shopping trip in under 10 mins. Walked in. The associate helped me find it, since it was with the holiday items. Price matched it (because best buy has it priced much higher than every other retailer) and was out. We have purchased many Attachments for this blender so Im sure it will get used but since it was a gift and I don't think they have used it, I cant comment on that end.

Simple to set up on my mixer. The grind is quick and efficient, and the clean-up was much easier than I had feared. Glad that I got the metal attachment rather than the plastic - this is very solid, and hopefully will last for many years. All the Kitchenaid attachments are overpriced IMO, but the quality is there.

We skin/clean our own deer, this machine is a key component to processing our venison. Whatever isn’t steaks is ground up and freezer sealed for burgers, soups, goulash, anything ground beef (venison) is called for. A+++. Has saved us some much money not taking deer to a butcher but doing it ourselves and the satisfaction of having done it ourselves; from the harvest - everything in between - to the cooking.

I just used it for the first time this weekend. I ground 25 lbs of deer and pork effortlessly. I then used the sausage tube which once you get the hang of how to use it works great! Both assembly and clean up were easy. I would definitely recommend this product!

Solid piece of equipment. Very user friendly and I absolutely love it. It co.es with three blade from coarse to fine and to me it grinds meat exceptionally well. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to grind their own meat.
