Klipsch makes it pretty easy to get top end 8" driver tower speakers with height effect Atmos speakers with the Reference series. Pairing the R-40SA height speakers to the R-800F towers was super easy and looks great, offering all the benefits of the range and sound characteristics of the 8" drivers with semi-integrated height capability. Adding the R-40SA was as simple as connecting the Atmost channel on my receiver to the terminal on the bottom rear of the R-800F, then plugging the included patch cable into the Atmos terminal near the top of the rear of the tower. I think the best feature about these speakers is the transparency of the height effect. The R-800F towers do a great job at having a wide, open sound stage up front and adding in the height speakers for 'beaming' the 3D effect really fills in the gaps and adds atmosphere in movies and games that support it. I particularly liked walking around Night City in Cyberpunk 2077 with Atmos enabled. The world is so enveloping already, adding the extra layer of audio coming from above just makes it feel even more like a bustling metropolis. If you're considering a speaker set with Atmos built in vs getting a larger tower and adding these to the top, I think you can't go wrong with the R-40SA. An extra benefit would be that you can always mount these as surround back speakers should you deicde you'd rather have 7.1 instead of 5.1.2.

I did not realize what I was missing without ATMOS speakers. Holy moly!!! I have never thought I really needed ATMOS cause I don't have a huge space but man I was wrong. The difference is night and day. I have these setup on the tops of the tower speakers because mounting them up high would be a challenge for me. The way the sound bounces off the ceiling and hits my ears is pretty surprising, in a good way. I have used these with several movies and these things just keep amazing me. The way the sound travels is impressive. Every plane that flew overhead, every explosion and every time thunder roared and rain fell was so realistic and detailed. The highs and mid range are very clear. The lower end for these is a bit lacking but that's ok. I do wish I could set these to 80hz without being worried about overworking the woofers. The manual recommends to start at 150hz. I have them set to 120hz, which I am good with all things considered. The style is the same as all the other speakers series, which is nice to look at. The slant for the ATMOS feature is cool. The mounting options are pretty straightforward. Overall, I am very please with these speakers.

I purchased these Klipsch Height Speakers as an open box item that was Geek Squad verified as excellent. They arrived in the condition as promised with everything included in the original box. I bought these along with an Onkyo TX-RZ50 Receiver to upgrade my current system for Dolby Atmos & DTS:X sound. These are not full range speakers nor do they need to be. I set these up on my Main front speakers along with my other Paradigm speakers. I was a little worried when I saw the frequency range in Dirac Live. But I quickly found I had nothing to be concerned about. The range these speakers have worked well in the Atmos processing. After I got the receiver setup using Dirac Live I tested by watching Avatar: The Way of Water in Dolby Atmos. Great picture and excellent sound. When things where flying overhead I really got the sense to sound from above. Now I'm no Audio Engineer or Specialist, just a regular Joe who loves to watch movies with theater like sound. For my ears and price range these worked out great. I am very pleased.

Adding these Klipsch speakers was what my Theater sound system really needed. I attached them to my B&W tower speakers without problem. All are controlled by a Denon receiver. The sound and clarity out of these speakers is nothing short of amazing. You can feel the engines on Top Gun roaring!

Amazing addition to your home theater setup. It’s klipsh if you’ve never owned their product before it’s made to last. I’m slowely upgrading my lower end klipsh products to higher end and the others still work after 12 years. As far as these you will notice even more little intricate serials in the background of shows and movies. Don’t think just buy it. You’ll only get yelled at once. Haha

Dolby Atmos at it's finest, nothing like adding more sound. And no better for the price than Klipsch.

Great Atmos speakers. I added these for 7.1.2. Made a big difference in our home theatre room. Glad I bought these.

Great sound and sleek design. Work really well as surround height speakers in a 7.2.2 setup.

Sound Great ! I used these on the walls in the front Atmos position and because of the directional sound from the horns in the speaker the sound was placed in the room in a very realistic way. I was surprised actually! The amplifier used in the system is a Parasound a52+ at 185 watts per channel into 5 channels each. Theses speakers sound great! Build quality is very solid.

Great little atmos speaker. I was able to hear a deffrence in my setup after installing these. Although it will depend on how you set them up (mounted or sitting on top of towers) I did end up retuning them for atmos speakers to match the rest of my setup. I would recommend these on a sale.

Love the design. Sits flat and angles up for height speakers in a 7.1 sound system. Great for Dolby Atmos. Perfect location for the banana plugs on the back. Also, I don't have to install something super painful like speakers in my ceiling. Win-Win
