    Another hit by Lenovo

This is my 2nd Android tablet by Lenovo and I am loving them more and more. The other one I own and use daily is the Yoga Tab Plus and this one I have been using for mainly streaming/content consumption and light gaming (Tower Defense). The price to performance ration is great when comparing to the other competitors and the build quality is excellent. In the box ------------------------- Super lightweight and thing 12.1 Tablet Pin extractor tool USB C charging cable (you need to supply your own power brick Standard paperwork. Setup ------------------------- Being an Android tablet, setup was super quick and easy. I just logged into my Google Account and everything was being set up in the background quickly. The only thing that took a while was all the updates required. Apps took the longest to update, then there was not 1 but 2 Lenovo OS updates back to back. But once everything was done, it was just me signing into my apps I used the most and on to my daily tasks. Performance ------------------------- The Idea Tab Plus is a 2.5k resolution screen that can do a max of 90hz refresh. This was more than satisfactory for my as watching most streams were 1440 @ 60 or FHD (1080) @ 60 and looked great. Putting in a couple hours in gaming never got the tablet warm and even after 4+ hours of binge watching shows yielded the same results. Battery life claims 13+ hours on a full charge and I can safely say those claims are true as I watched my YouTube channels in the span of a few days. Brightness was around 50-60%. Sound is adequate from the built in speakers and will do the job just fine, but I prefer using my over the ear headphones. Another great thing Lenovo does is expansion! Granted you get 128gb of storage on the tablet, but you get a Micro SD slot that can do up to an extra 2TB of storage! I am so happy some companies still allow this while the others did away with it. So huge thumbs up to Lenovo. Final thoughts ------------------------- If you are looking for a tablet for mainly content consumption and light gaming with a little bit of productivity sprinkled in, then I would look no further. Lenovo created an excellent tablet that (sold separately) can use a KB/Cover attachment to do a multitude of tasks. Personally I recommend putting the Tablet in a protective case asap as a safety precaution. The clear one I got was perfect for my needs.

Great Price Point, Perfect for Kids

The Lenovo Idea Tab Plus is a midrange tablet that bodes well above its price point, especially after some healthy updates. Unboxing and setting up the device was simple. Any android user should feel right at home. Despite the thin profile, there's a premium finish to give it a less "cheapy" feel that you would expect from say a budget device. This being in the lower midrange though, means you'll see the bezels which are noticeably larger than what I’m used to. However the size more than makes up for it with its 12.1 inch screen. Once powered on, the display felt natural, bright and vibrant. Functionally, the screen is smooth and flawlessly responsive. Audio performance is surprisingly crisp with the built in Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers. I found myself enjoying the tablet without the need for headphones. Admittedly one of the areas that shows the price range is the storage, with only 128gb. However, Lenovo gets a pass because of the included expansion for microSD cards, which alleviates my concern. One of the more impressive features though, is the compatibility with Google’s Kid Space, this is a win in my book. It transforms the entire interface into a kid-friendly environment, complete with robust parental controls via the Family Link app. The Idea Tab Plus actually exceeded expectations, performance wise. My son played Minecraft for hours without a single freeze or crash, something his previous tablet struggled with. Whether it was YouTube, games, or multi tasking, nothing seemed to hinder its functionality. The 90Hz refresh rate made a noticeable difference, mostly while switching between apps or navigating different windows. Also, the battery lasted all day, so I did not have to worry about recharging constantly. One thing Lenovo could do better, is offer more accessories. I was disappointed to find only a few case options, only folio styles, and not many choices from other brands either. As a parent, I want strong, kid-friendly cases to keep the tablet safe. Final Thoughts: The Lenovo Idea Tab Plus is an excellent choice for families seeking a reliable and affordable tablet with premium features. Its performance, kid-friendly interface option, and vibrant display make it a lovely purchase.

Nice Little Tablet for Media Consumption

I’ve been using the Lenovo Idea Tab Plus for a couple days and here’s the feedback. The first thing you notice is the screen — both the size and quality. It’s a 12.1” display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, which has its pros and cons. The shape makes it awesome for watching movies or YouTube — 16x9 video content fills almost the whole screen and looks fantastic. Colors pop, it’s super sharp, and it gets very bright. Honestly, for the price, I think it rivals the screen quality of some mid-tier iPads. Now, while that 16:10 layout is great for media, it can feel a little awkward to hold depending on what you’re doing. Vertically, it feels natural — perfect for scrolling websites or reading. But when you turn it sideways in landscape, it’s just wide enough that you almost need two hands. It’s not heavy at all, but that wide layout takes some getting used to. Performance-wise, it’s okay. Not the most responsive tablet out there, but totally fine for casual use. Scrolling web pages has been smooth, and video playback is great. Typing on the on-screen keyboard does have a slight bit of lag here and there, but it hasn’t been a dealbreaker. I did try some gaming, too. I downloaded Call of Duty Mobile — a game I play all the time on my iPad Pro — and while the gameplay was fine with no real lag, I was only able to get Medium graphics settings. Everything looked kind of blurry and pixelated. I was able to connect my Xbox controller easily enough, so props to Lenovo for that, but if you're buying this for anything beyond casual gaming, I wouldn’t recommend it. Lighter games like Spades and Hearts ran just fine, as expected. I haven’t used the AI note-taking yet since I don’t have the Lenovo pen, but I might keep an eye out for one. Gemini works just like it does on my Android phone — no surprises there. I also tried Circle to Search, and while it does work, the home button bar sits lower on this tablet than it does on my phone, so it takes a little more precision to get it to trigger. Still usable though. Now, the speakers? Well…they’re just flat and weak. If you care at all about sound, you’ll want to use headphones. I was also pretty disappointed that it didn’t come with any accessories. No stand, no pen — nothing. If Lenovo’s going to pitch this as a productivity tool or school companion, they really should’ve thrown something in the box. There’s not even a charging brick. Just USB-C cable. But what really frustrated me was the setup process. It actually forced me to install games I didn’t want. I mean, come on — that kind of nonsense drives me crazy. I deleted them right after, but that experience is such a turn-off. I would have given 5-starts because I do think the hardware is a good value, but just let me start fresh. Don’t clutter it up with bloatware right out of the gate. At the end of the day, it’s a solid tablet for watching content, reading, or browsing — especially for the screen quality. But the weak speaker, lack of included accessories, and forced app installs keep it from being a home run. If all you need is a casual tablet for media and light use, it’ll do the job. Just don’t expect a full-on gaming or productivity powerhouse. Still, I’d give it a solid 4 stars.

Reliable tablet for daily task and streaming

A fantastic value at the $270 price point. I absolutely love this tablet; from the huge screen to the amazing sound quality, you definitely get your money's worth. The tablet ships with just the USB-C charging cable and an owner's manual. The design is strikingly thin and lightweight, but its sleek build also makes it quite slippery. I have 'butter fingers,' so I immediately ordered a protective case and screen protector. Setting up the tablet was a breeze, especially since my data transferred quickly after logging into my Google account. The 12.1'' LCD screen is the star, delivering vibrant and rich colors that are great for streaming videos and watching movies. The quad-speaker setup is equally impressive. The sound comes out from both ends, giving it a rich, balanced stereo effect that is genuinely loud and clear. I use this tablet every day, and the media experience is top-notch. This tablet is ideal for a college student or family. It comes pre-loaded with all the Google apps, plus WPS Office for documents and presentations, and even AI writing tools. Another huge plus is Kids Space, which instantly turns the tablet into a secure environment loaded with educational apps, games, and books. As a parent of a 7-year-old who is learning to read, this feature is extremely valuable. The camera is the tablet's weakest point. While it's perfectly fine for video calling and casual use, I wouldn't rely on it for capturing sharp photos or high-quality videos. Overall this is a great tablet and I definitely recommend it!

_____ *Pros: -Bright and crisp display (up to 800 nits). -90Hz refresh rate. -Nicely balanced weight distribution. -Clean, simple design. -Can expand storage via microSD card. -The four speakers sound great. -Four years of security updates. _____ *Neutral: -Only supported up to Android 17. Comes with Android 15. -Wish it came with a built-in kickstand. _____ *Cons: -The camera’s shutter speed is bad. -Camera quality is so-so, especially in low light environments. -GPU is mediocre and can’t smoothly play high-end mobile games. The Lenovo Idea Tab Plus is mostly a satisfactory and good Android tablet, especially at its current price level. The design and build quality are excellent, with the in-hand feeling smooth and well-weighted and balanced. The corners are rounded and smooth, and they don’t dig into the palms causing discomfort and pain. At a weight of about one pound, it won’t easily cause fatigue when a child is handling it, such as my 10yo daughter. The power and volume buttons are located in predictable and convenient locations, and the buttons are tactile and responsive. The 12.1” 2560 x 1600 LCD screen is a treat. It’s sharp and crisp, colorful, and can get very bright. The quality of the screen was a pleasant surprise, and streaming movies and TV shows was a quality and satisfactory experience. The screen supports the Lenovo pen, but the pen is not in the box unfortunately. The screen is very responsive to finger tips and swipes, and writing and drawing apps performed just fine even without a pen. The four-speaker sound system was another pleasant surprise, and the audio quality was better than I anticipated. Despite its thinness, the audio quality was almost as good as the speakers on my 18” laptop, with warm sound, decent soundstage, and passable bass. Volume at 100% is nice and loud but some soundtracks experienced distortion and crackling, such as heavy metal tracks. The tablet arrived with Android 15, which is one version away from the most recent Android build right now, and it comes with a four-year security update promise from Lenovo and guarantee update up to Android 17. I know the Idea Tab Plus is an entry-level, value tablet, but it’s disappointing that the support period is so short. The Lenovo Android launcher is snappy, responsive, and easy to navigate around. The tablet comes preconfigured for a swipe-based gesture navigation, but I changed it to the 3-button method because that’s what I’m used to. Having used many tablets from each major software camp (iOS, Android, Fire, etc.), I still find Android to be the most convenient, intuitive, and well-suited option for a power user type such as myself. Android is exponentially better than the competition when it comes to handling notifications. When it comes to performance, everything was good except for when trying to run high-end games such as Cookie Run Kingdom. On my Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, the game runs smoothly and perfectly, but on the Idea Tab Plus with its middling MediaTek Dimensity 6400 SoC, the game was an absolute stutterfest. Based on some benchmark numbers I ran, I wasn’t surprised – the Idea Tab Plus only scored 753 single-core and 1971 multi-core on Geekbench 6 CPU, and a 1252 on Geekbench 6 Compute, which are very low scores. Less demanding games, such as Dandy’s World on Roblox and Cat and Soup, ran just fine, and gameplay using a Bluetooth-connected gamepad was enjoyable and fun. Playing AV1 compressed media files was also good. Another noticeable weakness of the tablet is its camera performance. Both the 13MP rear shooter and the 5MP front shooter are, at best, just average in quality in ideal lighting conditions, and in low light and dark settings, fare very badly, with lots of ghosting, smearing, and loss of fine detail. The cameras can be used in a pinch but for important shots, it’s better to stick to the cameras on modern smartphones. The tablet comes with 128GB of storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card, which is very nice and useful. Other aspects of the Idea Tab Plus were good and reliable as well, such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections. I often plugged in a USB-C thumb drive to transfer large media files, and the experience was seamless and transfer speeds satisfactory. The 10,200 mAh battery provides stellar runtime, and the Idea Tab Plus barely lost any charge the next day when the screen was turned off and left not charging overnight. All in all, the Idea Tab Plus is a decent Android tablet that seems fairly and correctly priced. The display is great, the audio sounds good, and the formfactor is easy to handle and carry. It’s perfect for streaming movies and audio, as well as drawing and note-taking if you purchase the optional pen. Its only big and glaring weakness is the anemic GPU; so if you’re into playing heavy graphic games with lots of eye candy, then I wouldn’t recommend the Idea Tab Plus. Otherwise, it’s a good and decent value buy, and earns a solid 3.5 Stars from me.

After using the Idea Tab Plus for two weeks, it has proven to be a decent tablet for a mid-range price. The screen is bright and clear, apps are never sluggish, connectivity is fast. I run several apps for business and personal use, along with stacking the tablet with several songs and videos; the 128GB memory is less than half full, offering room to grow into the future. I haven't bothered with the expandable microSD card yet, but it is nice to know it is there if needed. Tablet cases are hard to find a good selection of, being that this tablet was a recent release, but I would expect companies to soon be releasing accessories. I purposely purchased a tablet without the battery operated Stylus Pen, and chose to purchase the Pen Plus for the USB-C charging port. It quickly charged up in about 15 minutes, did the firmware upgrade and has performed well, whether writing or drawing, including angle performance. I have watched several YouTube videos prior to making the purchase, so that I could make the best decision between the Samsung models, and other Lenovo Models (Idea Tab, Idea Tab Pro, and Tab Plus). I wanted a stylus, and chose this Idea Tab Plus over the Idea Tab only due to the larger battery size and better processor performance (6300 versus 6400). Either tablet would have been a good purchase though, and my instore hands-on experience showed that both had excellent sound and video. Thank you Best Buy for having displays to make this experience available! I purposely bought from you because of this, instead of buying on Amazon. My only complaint, and it is minor, is that the magnetic sensor within the tablet that is used to sense when the case cover closes (turns off tablet) is in the middle right side of the tablet when held in portrait mode. It works excellent for detecting the case being closed and open (an option you can enable/disable in settings), BUT when you put your Pen Plus into the holder, the magnet within the Pen Plus causes this cover sensor to shut your tablet off when you move the tablet around. Lenovo: PLEASE offer a Stylus Pen Plus without the internal magnet in the pen so that we can again enable the cover feature. For now I have the feature disabled, but would really like to enable it in the future. Please email me when you do have the option available as well.

I bought this tablet mainly for watching movies and media, and it has honestly exceeded my expectations for the price. Screen: The 11.5-inch screen is a perfect size—not too big to hold, but large enough to enjoy a movie. The picture quality is sharp and looks really good, especially considering what I paid for it. Sound: This is the highlight. The sound is incredible for a tablet. It has 8 JBL speakers that actually provide some bass and volume, which is rare for tablets in this price range. Battery: Battery life is solid. It easily lasts me through a day of mixed use without needing to be plugged in constantly. Overall, if you want a tablet for entertainment without spending premium prices, this is a fantastic choice."

Just bought this Lenovo tablet on November 11th. Great screen, watching Netflix and other streaming services’ movies and content is awesome. Still trying to determine if it’s worth it buy the Lenovo pen or get knock off version. Only negative so far, the price reduction was great from $229.99 to $189.99; but price drop to $179.99 yesterday, and just spent 20 minutes with the Bestbuy chat to try to get this $10 mrice match but just keep getting looped in endless chat questions. I will have to go into a Bestbuy store to get this $10 price match. Sure they purposely do this.

A very nice tablet. Plenty of storage for your memory hungry apps. Very light weight. Purchased this tablet to replace another 4 year old Lenovo tablet. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that it drops wi-fi when the signal is weak (not often, but occasionally). I would but this tablet again.
