My daughters wifi went out but bought the extra protection plan and currently being repaired by Best Buy geek squad. Screen isn’t as bright as others. It is touch screen. Good as a starter for kids.

My normal preference for laptops are HP or Dell. Thus far I'm very pleased with the Lenovo's performance. It's lightweight, large touch screen, secure (so far), even the camera was clear. If you're looking for an inexpensive laptop to use, try Lenovo.

This is a mid-level, moderate use configuration, with its 10th. Generation Intel Core i3-1005G1 processor. This Dual-Core/Four-Thread processor has a base speed of 1.2GHz and a boost speed of up to 3.4GHz. This configuration has 8GB of DDR4-2666MHz RAM and a 256GB solid state hard drive. It is good with Microsoft Office type programs, internet browsing and other moderate work. This model ships with Windows 10 S-Mode Operating System. Windows 10 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available ( and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost.

Was easy to set up. Gave easy step by step audio directions. I am still trying to figure out the camera and why there is a delay. Otherwise I have had no problems and am very happy with product. The Intel Core i3 processor is more than ample for the casual user. Memory is very adequate, and this laptop handles everyday tasks easily. Boots up quickly and battery life is good for a Windows-based laptop. Not for gamers, but great for normal activities.

It's a great improvement to by tablet, and makes work easier. Seems like there's a lot I can with it beyond word processing. I'm not too used to the touch screen yet, but I like that I have that feature. The color is okay. It's different than boring black or silver.

Lenovo Ideal Pad

I purchased this Lenovo in August and in January my daughter's camera unexpectantly stopped working. I contacted Best Buy where it was purchased. They charged me an additional fee to remotely access her computer so they could fix it. It worked for about 2 weeks just fine and then the camera went out again... At this point I was furious, so I called Best Buy again. They didn't charge me that time and the camera is working again. I hope it doesn't stop working again because she needs this Lenovo for school.

It sounds like there was an update to drivers controlling the webcam within the laptop that required an update. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.

It is easy to use and very intuitive for seniors. The touchscreen is definitely a great feature. I have found them to be economical and durable. This laptop has plenty of speed and memory for personal use. It’s portability is suitable since I don’t need to travel with it very often. As of out of the box, setup, features, touchscreen, everything seems to work as should and I hope this is will work great for our needs.

Screen resolution and clarity are not great but leaving 5 stars as they both are more then adequate given the price point. Not a fan of "S mode" but easily turned off...

Low price and does everything that i need. Unless you are looking for a gamer PC or using high quality video editing this will do the job. Fast speed. I surf the internet read emails have multiple windows open and computer hasn't froze or lag or slow up in anyway. I like when the computer goes to sleep you can unplug the computer and the battery will not drain. Had to remove S window so i could install chrome but I also use Microsoft edge also.
