My wife and I purchased this for my mother in law for a Christmas gift and she could not be happier. She doesnt use her laptop for anything demanding, shes retired and uses it for watching things online, playing some games, browsing, Microsoft Office, email and downloading books for her e-reader. Nothing crazy, but recently her laptop broke so she needed a replacement. She was absolutely ecstatic with this as a gift, she couldnt be happier. This PC does come with Windows 10 in S-mode, which is probably a good thing for most kids getting a laptop at this price(i imagine this is quite a popular College/Highschool laptop or work from home) but can easily be upgraded to normal Windows 10 Home. Its fast, has a solid Intel i5 10th gen processor which is plenty for everyday tasks, and 12GB RAM which is great moving forward. Generally laptops at this price have lower RAM which makes it one of the contributing factors to slowing down after a few years, but with 12GB DDR4 it should be fine. That being said, 4GB of the 12GB RAM is soldered to the motherboard, with the other 8GB being removable in a SODIMM slot. Lenovo claims this slot can only support up to 8GB so upgrade at your own discretion...my guess would be you could put a 16gb stick in and have 20gb RAM but I didnt test it, however the i5 can support up to 64gb so it would matter if the motherboard can support more then 8gb in the slot, the CPU will. The NVMe SSD is a 256GB which is definitely on the smaller side, after windows and office installations your under 200GB so keep that in mind. However, the NVMe can be easily upgraded with a little know how, you will however have to clone the drive in another computer, or using an external NVMe adapter or by greating a full backup to a flash drive so keep that in mind. However opening the computer to so the upgrade is quite easy as long as you have a proper screwdriver. All in all, this is an unbelievable bargain at the BFCM price of $350 which is what I paid for it, but i would say its fair value up to the $450 area, anything more then that I would explore options with better upgradability(2 RAM slots) or more native storage.

I purchased this because of the price point during a cyber deal/black Friday sale for 349.99 (regularly 599.99) After I purchased it I started reading questionable reviews which concerned me....Once we got the laptop, opened it and started using it our thoughts are: (keep in mind we are not picky -just normal consumers) Pros-Price point for a new name brand laptop very good! Sleek and lightweight for our 10 year old to have and own. Its really fast, at least for us really fast-(it replaced and older laptop which was really struggling with the at home school learning platform. Cons: The video camera is (as previously reviewed by others) not great but really, very few laptops (even my much more expensive ones) are not much better. NOT A DEAL BREAKER, don't let this scare you from buying!! Not HD resolution-BUT pretty good. My biggest issue is this Blocky-Chunky wall plug just odd and you may not be able to use the same outlet for two plugs, kind of obtrusive. I had to use an extension cord to make sure I could get 2 things plugged into my closest outlet. Closing thoughts-For a basic laptop with a modern look, backed by the Lenovo name and purchasing from Best Buy with GREAT CONSUMER CUSTOMER SERVICE WE BOUGHT WITH CONFIDENCE AND SO SHOULD YOU. Yes on you purchasing it at 349.99 sale price. (not 599 retail) A- or B+ rating.

Listen, I wanted to love this, but 2 things fell short. A big one, is the battery. It can lose 10% in 15 minutes, and I'll only have 3 windows open. That's RIDICULOUS. If you don't mind being attached to an outlet, then go for it. The second is the visual. It's very dull, no vibrancy, almost gray. I understand the "anti glare" screen is a contributing factor, but no matter what adjustments I make, it's so boring and drab. It's like the depressing winter with no sunshine. I'd rather have a screen with glare and bright colors. I wish I would've been able to see this laptop in person before purchasing, because I'd known what I was getting myself into, albeit the battery, since you can only figure that one out by either A. purchasing it yourself, or B. reading the reviews. When I purchased this, there was only one review, so I took a leap of faith because the price was sooooo good. I actually received it almost 2 weeks before the expected date, which is a BRAVO to Best Buy on their end. If you don't mind the listed negs above, then go for it! It is truly an amazing, fast laptop! I wanted the Lenovo Yoga that was on sale for $550, but I sat too long and that price bounced back to to the original $699.99, so that's why I decided to scoop this up at the AMAZING $349.99 price. You, literally, can't beat that. I bought it for school, so I expect it will live up to my expectations. I also purchased the Canon printer that was only 60 bucks when you bundled the 2 together (normally $90) and I'm really impressed with that guy! Plus you get a black AND color cartridge with it (those alone are about $60, so you basically get the printer for free). I don't want my review to hold you back, as long as you're cool with the 2 things listed above, and you won't be disappointed. Have a SAFE and happy holiday season :) Peace & happiness to you all!

The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15 Laptop, model number 81WE00NKUS, ships with a 2CELL_35WH_INTERNAL, Lithium Polymer Battery, with a battery life of up to 7 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. This model ships with a 15.6-Inch (screen size measured diagonally) TN, LCD w/LED Backlight (Anti-glare) screen, with a resolution of 1366 X 768 (HD) and a brightness level of 220 nits. If you are getting substantially less battery life, First, set your screen brightness at less than 100-percent - try 80-percent to start with. Then, be sure Battery conservation Mode is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. Here is a link to instructions for turning off Battery Conservation Mode: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103159. Also check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Be sure only the programs you want running in the background are. These programs will drain the battery. Here is a link to information about how to find out what programs are running in the background on your Windows 10 computer and how to manage them for better system performance: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-prevent-apps-running-background-windows-10. Then, finally, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo

This computer is very easy to use. I don’t do a lot on it but it has multiple functions. The best feature I like about it it the touch screen. It has excellent security features and is very light weight. Easy to carry in a case. The plug itself is a bit large but other than that, I have no complaints. Does not come with colorful keyboard.

I bought this for my daughter who is in middle school. Saw it was a great black Friday deal on it and I like that it has an intel core i5 like my desktop. Looks good I thought. Took it out of box and first thing I noticed was the plug. I attached a photo. I thought that was weird to have the big thing like that. Anyways I set it up and charged it while it was shut off for the rest of the evening til the next day. My daughter used it for her zoom classes and to do homework online. She came out after about 2.5hrs complaining how it’s almost dead and that her google chromebook lasted way longer. SMH. I was shocked. I tried lowering the display brightness but it was still the same thing the next day.

I have been using this laptop for almost a month. Very good for the office job. Some middle range games can be played smoothly. Touch screen is mid range. I don't really use that. It always good to have a touch screen though. Loved it. Very good according to price.

I wouldn't classify this laptop as 'Cheap'...Maybe a step up from that...Maybe 'Inexpensive'. Pros-Cons: Pros: It's affordable! It works(mostly). It's fairly lightweight. It has a privacy shutter for the camera. --Cons: The Screen!!!! (people aren't kidding when they said the angle of the screen makes all the difference...changing the angle by 45° can mean that you see everything or nothing. Unfortunately, when I go to move the screen, my finger will touch (or come close to touching) the screen which means that either I am now on another tab, or that I've closed whatever tab my thumb was near >:( The apps!!!! This thing comes with a lot of apps that look like junk. Unfortunately, some of them are and some of them aren't. If you're having issues with your camera, you may have accidentally turned your camera off in the "Lenovo Vantage App"....It took the I.T. guy 45 minutes to find this one little permission after checking drivers, permissions, restarting, etc. I'm sure I changed this one day when I was trying to boost my battery life while increasing my privacy (my phone is still 'synced' with this thing and I've tried turning that off several times). I've taken a screen capture of something to try if you're having issues with your camera. Another con: the cord (a: it's about 6" shorter than my last computer's - just long enough to seem like it should go everywhere my last laptop went but it just doesn't. b: the prongs are attached to a 3"x3"x1" box. I'm sure this is probably a surge protector, but it takes up a LOT of plug space.) Overall: It goes on the internet and Microsoft suite works (for the most part - I'm still trying to figure out how/where the file/folder/app locations are organized/accessed....Much different than my old laptop so it's a minor hassle Every time I try to open a file.) I've had this laptop for 2 full months now and am still having 'growing pains'. BTW, it's asking if I would recommend this to a friend....I eventually said 'Yes' only because most of my friends are pressed for cash and I know a couple IT guys.

I love this laptop but it has one downfall its sensitivity. The space between the touchpad and the edge of the laptop is so broad that if your hand touches anywhere on the hangover the display shifts, maximizes, and/or minimizes the text on the screen, and logged on the internet it will log you off.

Such a stupid laptop which didn’t last for 5months and started issues with the monitor. Screen started black and blurr and when reached out to lenovo they suggested to give it in nearby Bestbuy store and Bestbuy GeekSquad charged me 80$ for shipping to lenovo. Then got an email saying your estimate is ready which is around 205$ for lcd panel replacement and there is a chance of 2nd estimate as well. Lenovo Ideapad 3 laptop is not even 6months older and under Manufacture Warranty but still why am I supposed to be ready or any such estimates or payment? Either you have to repair or replace it till warranty expires or please take your annoying product back and refund me. This is really frustrating and most worst experience shopping with Bestbuy for such Lenovo product
