This is a capable system, able to effectively run current software. It's not the fastest machine on the planet, but it's a good buy for someone that doesn't need that. Video and sound are both very good. Storage is more than adequate for a casual computer user. The unit is light but solid feeling, and appears to be well designed.

Well I am no longer purchasing from Lenovo. I've had two bad experiences with their products not matching their descriptions. This laptop runs slow and I only had two tabs open. It literally takes 15 seconds or longer to load things. I would not reccomend this laptop to anyone that's into YouTube, movies, or editing videos. This laptop is not beneficial for anything if it cannot multitask properly which it cannot. Not only that the Windows 10 S mode sucks as it does not let you download apps that are not Microsoft approved. I could not even download Google Chrome. I could not download my software for my Logitech webcam because this webcam SUCK. This webcam is similar to a 2001 flip phone camera. All PIXELATED NO HD. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED. I wish I paid cash to get my funds back immediately. No more Lenovo products for me I'll stick to the trusted HP brand.

The Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15 laptop will boot from off to the Windows 10 desktop in less than 40-seconds. If you are getting slower performance, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. This model ships with Windows 10 S-Mode for added security. Only APPs available at the Microsoft Store can be installed within S-Mode. You can switch to Windows 10 Home 64-bit operating system, if you don't need the added security, or need to install programs other than those available at the Microsoft Store, at no additional charge. If you issues continue, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. For 2018, Lenovo retained its place for a second year as the best laptop vendor:

Like a lot of people, I now do almost everything on my smart phone. But sometimes, you just need a computer. For what I need (internet, Microsoft Word), this laptop is perfectly adequate. I went with this over a comparably priced ChromeBook because I like having hard drive memory, versus exclusively cloud based storage.

Not the fastest processor but good enough for running my cricket machine. I wanted a separate laptop just for my crafting and this one does plenty to get the job done. Nice crisp screen and large enough to see everything without my readers.

Didn't expect a lot from this but if email ans surfing the net are what you need it for this works well. Speed could be a little faster but what do you expect for this price range. I would recommend going up to the next Lenovo with SSD which is faster.

My wife's Dell died, and I've happily owned an IdeaPad for several years, so I bought another one. Side by side, this unit is slower than my Pentium-powered IdeaPad, so I'm guessing this AMD-powered unit speed is related to the AMD processor

Great computer if you like a sluggish and super slow laptop. I bought this as a temporary replacement for my Mac which had to go to the Genius Bar for maintenance. I couldn’t be without a computer for 5+ days, so I figured, why not buy a cheap laptop so I could continue to run my business. I also needed a PC to run one program that doesn’t work on Mac. I never expected this Lenovo to be as good as my Mac, but I didn’t expect it to be as slow as it was right out of the box. Set up was annoying because in order to use Chrome or my business programs I had to get out of that ridiculous S Mode. Supposedly this mode only allows downloads from Microsoft. Umm Microsoft, I am not a child and know what I can and cannot download from the internet. Not sure I can handle using this piece of junk even on a temporary basis. May spring for a mid priced PC to run that one disk. Beware of this one- I actually think turtles are faster than this Lenovo laptop!
