Great Computer!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing should be up for the, Best Buys's , best buy award this computer has worked great since day one and has been able to do alot more things than I expected from it. Perfect for a student, or maybe even a small business owner. I got 1 free year of microsoft office and that was huge! I got this computer as a back up to hold me over a few month until i could get "something nicer" but honestly this thing has done everything I needed and hasn't gave me any reasons to upgrade it yet. I run and use multiple applications and currently have 9 open windows running on chrome with out zero issues!!! Super happy I got this computer, wasnt sure about lenovo , but they seem to run for ever!

Very nice little laptop!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to set up and light weight. A little on the slow side for web surfing, and I’ve had a couple of issues with the audio (minor). Not too sure about the Microsoft Secure but I like the option of removing it if my confusion persists. All in all, a nice little laptop for the price.

Windows 10 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available ( and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost. So far, so good!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace an ASUS that died on me after 5 years. So far, so good! I'm NOT a 'Power User" so I can't speak to specs and such .. was just looking for a machine for email, YouTube and photo-editing .. Thus far serving my needs .. I caught a GREAT deal when I bought this, it was $229.00 USD, I returned a ChromeBook for this and wound up(with the return)paying a hair over $90.00 USD .. The following week the price went down to $199.00 USD and I was able to get the difference as a refund!! BESTBUY ROCKS!!!

great laptop for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is lightweight and dependable. The touch pad is ok but i prefer the 2 touch pad keys at the bottom instead of pushing the entire touch pad. This laptop does not have an Ethernet connection but no big deal. For the price, a great laptop.

You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad. Ignore Lenovo's Comments - This is Easy to Upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace an old netbook that died. For $220 you'll get a very slow PC. Boot time was intolerable and all of the browsers I installed constantly froze. I removed the back cover and installed a 500 gig SSD and increased memory 8 gigs. This is one super-fast laptop after spending less than $100 on the SSD and memory upgrades. Lenovo has a maintenance guide for the s145 on its web site (not the user manual) that tells you step-by-step how to do this. Took me 5 minutes to do the upgrade. The identical S145 with 8gb of memory and a 500gb SSD retails for about $400. You do the math.

Posted .The Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15 laptop will boot from off to the Windows 10 desktop in less than 40 seconds. If you are getting slower than expected performance, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Please keep in mind, this model is not user upgradable. A certified technician must do all of the work, so as to not void the warranty.

||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great price and value for the speed and memory you get. Decent laptop for the price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this because my laptop HDD crashed and I needed a computer that day and I didn't want to mess around driving 60 miles to get a new HDD or SSD for my old laptop, so I bought this laptop instead when I drove the 60 miles to get the new hard drive. It is a decent laptop, but I had to add a wireless mouse because I could not get the touchpad to work very well no matter how I played with it. I mean I only paid $200 for it, so can't expect too much but it worked for what I needed and am writing this review on it. Great computer for just surfing the web or doing emails, a very good home, everyday computer.

Review Of Lenovo IdeaPad S145 w/ Windows 10 64bit
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My older laptop that originally came with Windows Vista Basic, and was upgraded to Windows 7, crashed on the install with Windows 10. So, I got this laptop for around $240 (Windows 10 64-bit). The only thing I didn't like with it was the touchpad...so, I found an external USB keyboard to work with it, and had to buy a new Optical Mouse (the one I had wouldn't work with it). I'll use it when I'm traveling, or at ham radio license exam sessions.

Great Beginning Laptop for Low Money
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as an 'open-box' unit, but it was in great shape. To do what I did, you need to be pretty savvy on working on notebooks. So if you have any doubt, have the GEEK SQUAD do the work. When I got home, I went into the Lenovo web-site to download the drivers, manuals, and specs. Since it has Windows 10 S-Mode, I decided to convert it to WIndows 10 Home, then made a recovery USB drive, and upgraded the hard drives, memory, and OS. It opens easily, and the SATA hard drive was easy to upgrade to a Solid State unit. The memory uses DDR4-PC2400 or equivalent and has just the one slot. No ON-BOARD memory in this unit as stated in the specs here. I added a Crucial 16GB chip. Then carefully mounted a M.2 PCIe NVMe solid state stick drive. The screw and mount are not included, so have some extra computer screws and hardware available. The computer reloaded quickly, runs like a champ, and all the drivers actually downloaded from the web automatically, but I still ran all the driver packs I downloaded from Lenovo. The 15.6" screen is bright and sharp for this price, and the whole computer feels solid and well-made. Wireless and bluetooth are flawless, and the computer runs cool and quiet. Battery life has been about 5 hours so far. This is a great computer right out of the box, but can be upgraded (even though we get lectures from LENOVO about this is a NON-USER servicable computer and it will void our warranty!). Save it Lenovo, we paid for it and we can upgrade it if we want to! So if you have kids going off the school, you cannot beat this machine. They will love it and it will perform well for any student or even an old man like me. Get one!

Slow computer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this computer to take care of some business only while i forgot my main one at home. It is very slow on the internet and loading programs. I have relatively fast internet. I would think it would be faster being a new computer. My old computer works better. I bought it for it wasn't expensive and was on sale. Not really happy with it. I don't know much about the Lenovo brand.

Good for General Use
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a Lenovo ThinkPad for work and I really like Lenovo products. This one as well. Seems to be able to handle the modest tasks and software I have for it. I won't try and put the Adobe Creative Suite on this, for example. I like the keys (sounds a bit picky but the feel of the keys makes a difference for me). Another picky point is that the power button is on the keyboard and not the side of the computer like on the ThinkPad. This one is much easier to turn on. I don't like having to double-tap touchpad but that's pretty standard in every laptop now so I just deal with it.

A surpisingly good laptop for the money
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've seen some bad reviews about the sound quality. I'm not having that problem. The sound is no better or worse than the sound from any other laptop with tiny speakers. The speed is somewhat faster than I expected. It's fast enough to run Office Pro 2019 and Microsoft SQL Server without choking, although I don't recommend running SQL Server. It's a bit much for this little laptop. To be fair, it's not advertised as a powerhouse. It's supposed to surf the Net and run MS Office, and it does those things as well as can be expected for a machine in this price range. I'm very happy with my purchase. I didn't give it five stars only because the setup instructions were a waste of paper. Fortunately, they weren't really needed. Just turn it on and Cortana will walk you through setting up Windows 10. I almost forgot - I upgraded to Win 10 Pro without any problems.

Good basic laptop computer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this for our daughter to have for schoolwork. This Budget PC is for the Birds
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was surprised that Lenovo had a budget laptop with these specs at this price point. I bought this on sale "deal of the day" from Best Buy in 2019. Have to admit this thing is a great brick, even using it for basic tasks were a challenge for this PC, like emailing, web surfing (yes a good ole 90's reference)! This PC was suppose to replace my old HP from 2011 and running windows 7. Honestly the 2011 model out performed this Lenovo from 2019!! If you have some extra ram laying around & feel like installing it that may help this brick, however it would just be easier to skip this model and spend a little more money for a better performing laptop. Pros - price (better if you get it on sale), if you need a prop for an office or whatever I am sure this would look great in the background. Cons - slow even for a basic laptop, battery doesn't last long and over a lousy lap top from a well know company. 3 stars may be high but it's still a nice brick

A nice easy to use laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this laptop for an older relative to have access to the internet, Skype and email. It’s very lightweight, easy to carry and store, has plenty of memory and speed and an easy to use keyboard. While our relative will never use all the wonderful features offered on the Lenovo, at least she has access to some great apps, games, internet and communication. Ease of use is critical and the Lenovo is the perfect user friendly laptop.
