With the standard specs this laptop has it should run significantly better than it does. It cannot multi task at all in any sense. I would not recommend this laptop for anything outside of Internet and email.

If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo

So, I took it back to the store. Then I made my second mistake of the day. I bought another machine, slightly more expensive than this one, but since I hated being without a laptop, I bought it and took it home. That one I also had to return because the noise from the hard-drive was so loud I feared imminent failure. Never ever buy two items the same day from bestbuy. I'm still fighting with them about the missing refund from the first returned machine. This has now gone on for 6 weeks and cost me many hours of phone and email time. Without resolution soon apparently.

I know its a low cost low computing low memory model, but i just wanted something to use for the web and office suite. It can barely handle 2 or 3 internet windows, and any office product will bring it to its knees in processing times. Its not worth the money even at my price point this was a mistake.

l am not a "geek" by any stretch but this laptop and the newest Win10 is totally useless to me and the most ridiculous piece l have ever purchased. l have bought Lenovo before and had 2 yrs. 6 mo. of very nice use, but this laptop is not compatible with my expertise. l cannot bypass Edge, a terrible browser imo, and it will not allow me to load G Chrome, which l am well acquainted with. Even the keypad fights me. l attempt to move the cursor and the page diminishes, i.e.; zooms out. Causes me so much frustration that l am returning this laptop, not accepting a replacement of the same, and will look for a more suitable lappy.

We are sorry to hear that you had issues with the initial setup of Windows 10 S-Mode. Resetting the device back to original factory settings, then letting Windows 10 S-Mode activate again, may correct your issues. This system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the right side of the device, right near the headphone jack on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. Once you have restored the computer, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. Had this for 5 weeks when an automatic Windows/Intel update caused some motherboard parts to burn out. I called Lenovo make a warranty claim, and they said it was possible I did something to cause this to happen. They said I had to pay for shipping back to them. Enormously frustrated, I smashed this thing into a million pieces with a sledge hammer.
