I did need a new desktop, but I was going to wait awhile, I had admired other gaming desktops in stores but this one called to me. It is so quiet not even a peep from it, the RGB lights are beautiful, it is super fast and worked right out of the box. Bart from geek squad was wonderful in helping me order this beauty and I love it!

Just picked this up have had it 5 days, first day I ran at max settings 1440x1080p @ 165hz refresh rate. Got graphics lag 1.5 hours into gameplay at these settings, upgraded the RAM next day from 16gb to 2x16gb (32gb RAM) Corsair DDR5 6000mhz and the PC runs fine, Marvel Rivals which runs unreal engine 5 runs very smooth for hours on end at 165hz+. Reasoning for 4 star is simply that the GTX 4060 is only 8gb VRAM and it only came with 16gb RAM sticks. Other than that games run nice! And the PC is very nice! Looking to upgrade cooling system next but have no idea what fits.

Genuinely a fantastic entry-level desktop for PC gaming. Setting up the CPU to be overclocked was incredibly simple with Lenovo's built-in program, and I've had no issues running any current (late-2024) games at high to ultra-high settings while still maintaining a proper frame rate.

Pretty high tier pre built PC if you buy it when it’s on sale, if you’re gonna go that route this is the way. Bit of a coil whine from what sounds like the cpu cooler but that’s easily replaceable and very cheap. Also the description says the ram is 5600 mt/s, but it’s not and idk how they got away with that lol. The ram speed is 4400, and you can’t change it in BIOS unless you replace the ram. Also the custom BIOS doesn’t allow you to overclock the CPU which is eh but that can get sketchy anyways to someone who doesn’t know anything about it.

Great Machine but Challenging to Upgrade

Intel i5 and Nvidia’s RTX x060 combo have been a staple for gaming at Full HD up to 1440p resolution, which should be enough for most people who wants to experience latest AAA games at high setting with Ray Tracing setting on. But what about this gaming desktop? TLDR: There’s no surprise here in terms of performance but let me share you my findings as there are some other important aspects to consider. Overall Impression and Build Quality This PC is well-built, not that heavy and it looks like a typical gaming desktop with LEDs that can be turn off from a button on the back of the machine. The companion apps don’t feel like bloatware as they are quite functional and don’t eat up too much resources. Of course, for a cleaner and meaner performance, they are easy to uninstall. Lenovo’s audio software, Nahimic, is great. Lenovo makes it easy to upgrade to the latest firmware, drivers and of course all the necessary apps. I really like the micro ATX form factor, which is I think is the right size for 1440p gaming. It’s quite amazing that you can tuck this gaming desktop under a desk, which will clear up more space for gaming keyboard, mouse and even some streaming accessories. Accessing the internal of the desktop is easy enough. There are four fans that do the cooling and they’ve been performing quite well. I also like it that they’re actually pretty smooth and not loud. The PC comes with a basic keyboard and mouse, which I don’t use as I have my own set of mechanical keyboard and gaming mouse. Also worth to mention, the PC comes with 3 months of Xbox Ultimate Game Pass free subscription. Ports and Connectivity The PC has typical ports connectivity to display monitor or high framerate TV: 1 HDMI 2.1 and 3 Display Port 1.4a, no surprise here as it is within expectation for an RTX 4060 gaming card. There are 4 ports for super-speed USB A 3.0 5 Gbps (two of which at the front), 4 ports for standard speed USB A 2.0, but surprisingly only one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports. I don’t mind having one port capable of 10 Gbps speed, however, having only one port of USB-C is somewhat a nuisance these days and I’m pretty sure not a lot of people already has USB-C port hub. And I’m quite sure there are people out there who wants to connect to multiple SSDs at the highest speed possible. Having said that, it’s not that biggie for me. There’s one LAN port and of course the desktop supports both Bluetooth and Wifi 6E. The Bluetooth in particular works really well in connecting to my XBOX controller. This gaming desktop also comes with legacy audio ports including those at the front of the machine. Upgradeability There are four DDR5 RAM UDIMM slots and the current setup only uses two 8GB DDR5 5600 Mhz. However, I can’t find the proper documentation on the make of the RAM as I always prefer to use the exact same SKU whenever I want to upgrade the RAM. I should be able to know about it when the need arises and I unplug one of the RAMs from the slot to observe. The GPU has more than enough clearance and it receives plenty of air circulation. In terms of space management, I think it should not be a problem if I want to upgrade to a more capable and larger GPU, say the next generation of RTX x080. It’s not easy to find the documentation containing complete exact spec of this PC but if you know where to look there’s one you can download from the Bestbuy website. I finally learn that the power supply is only rated at 500W, which means I would need to upgrade the power supply in the future as I want to upgrade to the next in class and next gen Nvidia GPU. But for now, at default spec, this PC is plenty powerful for most tasks: gaming, video editing, etc. I can’t find an extra slot for the internal SSD and the spec publication doesn’t mention anything about an extra slot. That means I would need to replace the 1 TB SSD to 2TB in the future should the need arises. Overall, this desktop PC is not that easy and convenient to upgrade while it is still possible to do it. Performance No surprises here. With the default high setting at 1440p resolution, Assassins Creed Mirage play smoothly on this machine. Please check the FPS report in the picture. Conclusion This is a very capable gaming desktop with solid performance at 1440p. I like the performance and how relatively quiet the machine is. However, there are some quirks, though they are not major but maybe important enough for some people. Though it is possible to upgrade to a more powerful GPU, the power supply will need upgrading as well. Also, storage upgrade would mean replacing the SSD. So, for those who want a desktop gaming PC that just works and probably won’t be needing to upgrade in the future, this is already an excellent PC. However, those people who want to upgrade their PC incrementally including myself, will need to cope with its limitation. While the pathway for upgrade is still open, it may not be that much convenient.

    Solid Mid Tier Gaming Tower

The Lenovo Legion Tower 5i is a decent starter gaming rig for those wanting to get into PC gaming or just play non-AAA titles with decent settings. Performance is fine at it's price point but do NOT expect to be playing all the latest titles with MAX settings or Ultra enabled or you will be disappointed. The Legion Tower can handle 1080 gaming just fine with Med and High settings, but moving to 1440 or 4k is going to leave the i5 and 4060 struggling if you try to increase settings. In the box, you get the PC itself, a box with the keyboard and another box with the power cord and mouse. Before ever plugging it in and turning it on, always check to see if any connections came loose in the PC. As a PC builder, I always love to open up all rigs and take a peek at what is given to me. Props to Lenovo for a decent cable management job to not restrict airflow and even under the panel behind the mobo was really good. Parts and Upgradability -------------------------------------------------------- If you aren't too tech savvy or just don't care, skip this part. The tower itself is solidly built and doesn't feel cheap at all. Looks fine with it's single sided tempered glass panel. It is a nice simple clean look. The i5 14400F is just air cooled with what looks like the generic cooler with comes with it. Not saying it's bad, but will probably do the job fine. Your bootdrive is a 1TB NVMe that is the LEGION sticker you can see in the pics. The RAM almost got me. I first looked and thought I was given placeholders or something but then soon realized they are the most generic single sided Samsung DDR5 5600 modules known to man. I couldn't find the brand for the 4060, but looks like a generic one that Lenovo just slapped a sticker on. The biggest concern I have is the PSU. So far, it's running just fine, but do your research. It is a 500w HuntKey that I personally would replace asap. Lenovo kinda makes it difficult to upgrade do to lack of space for PSU and the 500W limitation. What I mean is, don't go out buying a 4080 Super and then thinking you can just swap out the 4060 for it because it won't work. The PSU is already hard to get to, but if you can remove/replace it (highly recommend you do) then there is the space issue. The case supports get in the way for larger PSUs so please do your homework 1st before becoming a trial and error mess. There is another NVMe slot under the GPU if you want to add more storage so that is a plus. Performance ------------------------------ Enough about my nick picks. You are here to game so let's game. I actually was mean and paired this tower to my Alienware UW OLED so my results are based off that. Of course YMMV personally with your display. I ran the Shadow of the Tomb Raider benchmark with high settings on UW and as you can see from my pic below, it ran a solid 100+FPS. Very nice. Game looked great and played with no hiccupping, tearing or FPS so low is was unplayable. It could easily play my whole steam library with the majority of games on High (NOT Ultra or Max) settings with very decent framerates. Quite a nice surprise. Temps were fine as fans did not need to ramp up to keep anything any cooler. When I 1st booted up the PC, I thought my RGB was broken as nothing was lighting up. Fans were spinning but no lights. I later found out that I had to enable them with the included Lenovo Vantage program. The system didn't come with too much bloatware to take up space, but I did delete all the worthless MS apps and Lenovo Arena as I could find no reason to use it. The Vantage app though is decent at no only controlling your lighting effects of the tower but also gives you important info like temps. For those who just want a nice simple gaming PC that can play titles decently or use for content creation, then this Tower will suit you just fine.

SPECS AS TESTED: • Intel i5 14th Gen 14400F • 1TB SSD • 16gb DDR5 RAM (5600Mhz) Expandable up to 64 Gigabytes • Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 • WIFI 6E • 500 Watt Power Supply I recently had the opportunity to test out the Lenovo Legion Tower 5i and honestly have been incredibly impressed with its capabilities. From gaming, multitasking, and watching your favorite movie, Legion 5i has been able to handle anything with ease all while looking absolutely amazing. So, let’s go over what Legion 5i has to offer. The Lenovo Legion Tower 5i combines the 14th Gen Intel Core i5 14400F processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card to offer a fantastic choice for gamers looking for a machine that can deliver smooth gameplay with incredible visuals. The i5 14400F offers excellent performance for handling demanding games, while the RTX 4060 boasts the latest from NVIDIA, ensuring you can play the newest titles with all the bells and whistles turned on. Even while being an entry-level GeForce 40 series graphics card the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card packs a punch. Whether I'm cranking up the settings on the latest titles or diving into graphically demanding games, the Tower 5i handles it all effortlessly, thanks to the RTX 4060's power. With 16GB of DDR5 RAM on board, everything runs smoothly without any slowdowns and effortlessly handling multitasking. The Legion also excels in the design area. This is an impressive looking case. The Storm Grey finish gives the Legion Tower 5i a sleek and modern look, and the meshed front bezel provides both airflow and a stylish touch. Upgrading components is a breeze thanks to the toolless glass panel. Upgrades can be made to the case to increase airflow and the system itself with open 2 open slots for RAM and 1 open slot of M2 SSD. The system comes with 1 TB SSD which can be good for some users, but I will be taking advantage of the open slot on the board and adding another 1TB M2 SSD. Overall, the Lenovo Legion Tower 5i strikes an excellent balance between performance, aesthetics, functionality and most importantly, PRICE. Whether you're a gamer, content creator, or power user, this desktop is a strong contender. If you're looking for a new gaming PC, the Legion Tower 5i is absolutely worth checking out!

Solid, Well Built Budget Gaming PC

The Lenovo Legion Tower 5i Gaming Desktop is a budget gaming PC that offers excellent 1080p (FHD) gaming experience. The Intel Core i5 14400F CPU with its six Performance and four Efficient cores performed well in most gaming scenarios. It handled all my games smoothly, even during high-intensity moments. The 16GB DDR5-5600 RAM2 sufficient for most games as well as general productivity use. It handles multitasking well, and I experienced no lag or stuttering when switching between applications. The cooling system is efficient and quiet. Even during intense gaming sessions, the system remained cool and the noise level was minimal. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 does a good job in all the latest games @ 1080p, and it's fine with many slightly older titles at 1440p (QHD). Running the FarCry 6 benchmark the Legion sat at a solid 100 FPS at 2560 x 1440 pixels (QHD) and Ultra settings. In general it delivered stunning visuals and smooth gameplay, even in some games with high graphical demands. The 12GB of video memory ensured that textures loaded quickly and the game environments were rendered beautifully, though I would've preferred 16GB for more future proofing as some games are starting to require more GPU memory. The 1 TB NVMe SSD provides enough space to get started, though if you have a large game library you may need to upgrade at a later time. There is a second slot so adding another driver is easily accomplished. The NVMe drive is fast enough that generally there are no long wait times for games to load, which kept me immersed in the gaming experience. The design of the Legion Tower 5i is sleek and modern, and the build quality is very good. The tempered glass side panel and multi-zone addressable RGB lighting added a touch of class, making it a good choice as a centerpiece of a gaming setup. The price point makes it a solid value (especially as Best Buy has it on sale right now) as an entry level gaming PC. The one complaint I have is the lack of a USB-C port on the front. Overall, the Lenovo Legion Tower 5i Gaming Desktop is a solid gaming machine that delivers on all fronts, with room to upgrade. It offers excellent performance, great visuals, and a sleek design in its class. It’s definitely a worthy addition to any gamer’s arsenal who is looking for a solid entry level gaming PC.

I picked up this PC on sale for around $850, and at that price, it's an absolute steal — especially considering how much just a GPU would cost on its own. If you don’t have the time or just don’t feel like building a PC yourself, this is a great option. It comes with an RTX 4060 and an i5-14400, which is more than enough for most modern games at 1440p on high settings. Performance-wise, it just works. No hassle, no weird issues — just solid gaming. Plus, it’s impressively quiet. I haven’t heard the fans kick up in a single game yet! The build quality is solid, and the packaging was sturdy enough to survive UPS shipping (if you know, you know). Final Thoughts: At full price, I’d probably recommend building a PC yourself. But if you catch it on sale? Grab it without hesitation. You’re paying for the convenience of having a well-assembled, ready-to-go system, and for what you get, it’s quick, well-built, and affordable. Would absolutely buy again if I had the choice.

I like to stream and play games and If you’re like me you want a good “all in one” system that can do this especially without breaking the bank. Now normally in this space you’re looking towards companies that build custom desktop gaming PCs and spending thousands just to get your toes in the water so to speak. This changes that and it does it gracefully. Benchmarks scores - what its all about in ones eyes that are looking to buy something like this seeing what fps you can reach in your favorite games and I ran them all for you here. Mind you the raw system you’re working with here is an intel core i5 14400F and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060. Time spy= 11,098 overall with 10,926 graphics score and 12,185 CPU score which is top of its class for this hardware Cinebench R23= 16,003 muilticore and 1743 single core Blender benchmarks on V 3.2.1= monster- 1741, junkshop- 805, classroom- 776 Pugetbench Davinci resolve test for content creators (studio version 18.1.4) - overall score 1543 Benchmarks said this thing is the perfect content creator Streaming PC that can still really eat up any AAA title game out there at the same time and is absolutely awesome! The value that this machine puts on the table is second to none. Using the Lenovo Vantage software you have full control over the LED RGB colors of your tower, can fine tune every setting to your liking and switch profiles, change fan speeds, and even overclock your GPU in the click of the mouse. This is something that I highly valued myself and on that note even with the fans at absolute maximum settings they arent loud at all which was really suprising as the system I was coming from routinely took off like an airplane lol. The only gripe in this setup from me is the included keyboard and mouse are very basic so you should also look into their lineup of accessories to pair with this to really perform at your best and the CPU fan mounting being “crooked” by design choice to not overlap with the heat sync on the CPU itself at first looked a bit off or broken but no thats actually how its designed but once you see this you understand and its never an issue. Value on this system as a whole is in another world it’s really nice to see something like this in the market and I cant recommend it enough.

I couldn’t be happier with the Lenovo Legion Tower 5i! As a mid-range gaming desktop, it delivers exceptional value for the performance you get. The Intel Core i5-14400F and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 work perfectly together, running all my games smoothly with impressive frame rates, even at higher settings. The 16GB of memory and 1TB SSD are ideal for multitasking, quick load times, and ample storage, making it perfect for both gaming and other heavy-duty tasks. The sleek Storm Grey design also looks great on my desk. This PC is quiet, efficient, and handles everything I throw at it. I love this thing. Plays every game I want or need, the ddr5 and ssd allow for multitasking for school, and it looks great. I purchased this for $799 and couldnt imagine a better deal. Bonus for the high-quality button on the back of the p.c to easily turn off/on the LED display for the tower. Wasnt expecting that feature for a very cheap prebuilt, but its here! Cons- power supply isnt super strong, so upgrading the computer might be more costly or complicated than anticipated.

I've never been really good and building my own tower computers, so I ended up getting this pre-built tower from Lenovo. After a few weeks of playing games and using this as my primary home office computer, I've come to regard this as a very decent computer for my own needs. I have not been a full gamer, but my both my kids are heavy into FPS like TF2 and other popular online gaming, such as Robolox and good old Minecraft. I do occasionally play classic games like anything Halo or Forza. I was amazed at the size of this box when it arrived. It was the tower and basic keyboard/mouse, so I wanted to get a dedicated gaming monitor and mouse/keyboard. Since this is a pre-build, all you need to do is plug and play, setting up with your Windows account, and start downloading your games. The glass panel that protects the insides is a clear and durable. I love the clean look as the air cooling fans are running with full RGB. The model I picked up was the Intel Core i5, has 16GB of RAM, 1TB SSD, and utilizes the NVIDIA GeForce RTX4060 graphics card. I know that 16Gb is the bare minimum you should have, but thankfully it is upgradeable as there are a total of 4 slots up to 64 Gb. GPU is also upgradeable but I don't think I need to do that for what I am doing with this. Performance on this has been a great experience. Playing TF2 with my son, or Halo: FoR has been fun as the frames were never dropping below 100FPS. There were no lagging issues, freeze frames, nothing. The fans are also very quiet so the noise on this is very minimal. Resolution is fantastic on this, and it does help with my monitor. Switching to this for home office use is a little overkill with these specs. All my office programs run smooth and that 1TB gets filled up pretty fast with my games. So I have to be aware of all the other files I am saving on this. This has really good amount of IO, with an HDMI, 4 x USB-A 2.0, 4 x USB-A 3.2, 1 x USB-C 3.2. I wished that it had more USB-C's on this, it's 2024! Overall, this has been a pure joy for me to use. I love the sleek design and that it doesn't take too much space on the desk (or under). Performance is really good for the gaming that I do, and for the office work as well. I love how quiet this runs and all of the upgradeable options for you.

For a pre-built, it’s a solid purchase. I’m running 4K in most my games and easily maxing out 1440p in the most demanding games. The i5 is the only downside but the way they have it clocked it actually does surprisingly well. I read that the ram may be a little slow but again it’s running everything smoothly. The case is pretty nice and the “LENOVO” rgb’s in the front are really cool as far as branding goes and of course matches the fans really well. Overall, capable of 4K gaming but great at 1440p comparable to a PS5.

The Lenovo Legion is a premium set up for a reasonable price. Bought this for my kid who really enjoys Diablo 4, Starfield, Warzone and Valorant. Super fast and smooth frame rates with the current hardware. The machine itself feels slick and well put together. I love the ability to modify the lighting scheme. Excellent gaming pc.
