Far better than the HP Spectre line

I previously owned a HP Spectre 360 4k OLED with all the bells and whistles. Sadly, that laptop was riddled with so many bugs and issues it was a most frustrating experience everytime I turned that thing on. I ended up using my daughter's 13 inch HP Envy as my go to, as my 4 times more expensive sat gathering dust. I recently decided to purchase the Lenovo Yoga 9i after a bit of research. I couldn't be happier. This laptop does everythibg youd expect a high end laptop to do and it performs magnificently. The OLED screen is amazing, and the speakers are the best I have ever heard on a laptop. The round chrome edges make the laptop look quite dated, but the performance if the laptop is so good you don't mind at all that it looks like a laptop version of an old-school iPhone 3. LOL. I am very pleased with this purchase and give kudos to Lenovo for producing an excellent product. It streams 4k Dolby Vision and Dolby ATMOS from streaming channels with ease. Oh yeah, since my i7 Evo Yoga only requires 60-65 watts to power it, you can ditch the stock power adaptor and use a tiny 65 watt usb-c power adaptor made by the likes of Anker. I hope you find this review helpful.

This is my second Yoga, replacing a Yoga 7i that has performed well for 6 years. Very easy replacement for me, I bought an Open Box model and it is as good as new (had a minor blip on starting up, which the Geek Squad fixed for me quickly. Love the ergonomics and overall ease of use. Some of the documentation from Lenovo (especially regarding the Precision Pen) leaves a lot to be desired as does Lenovo support for same. Haven't used the tablet mode yet.

    "Excellent Open Box" Isn't Excellent

This is more about buying from Best Buy than the actual computer. Ordered an excellent condition open box version of this laptop and first, the color isn't correct, then the computer was disgustingly dirty and sticky, and it isn't what I'd consider excellent condition with scratches on the front and edges of the computer. For $1300, even open box, I'd expect a little more cleanup to ensure the product isn't gross and the product to be exactly the same product I ordered. (Bought slate gray, got the maroon color, whatever it's called). So I'll take that up with the company, but as for the Yoga itself, from initial use, display is gorgeous and it's zippy fast. I ran some large adobe commands with hardly any lag so I'm pretty happy with that. The bloatware seems easy enough to uninstall (it takes up some space, but not bad when you've got 1T to play with). Touchpad is a little clicky, louder and not as smooth as I was expecting but that's not why I buy computers either. It'll work great to get me through school and freelance design.

This Intel Evo-Certified, Lenovo Yoga 9i 14, model number 82LU0000US, ships with an Intel-Evo-Certified, All-Day-Battery-Life, thanks to its Integrated 75Wh, Lithium-Polymer Battery, which within this model configuration, has a battery life of up to 10 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are getting less than expected battery life, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 11. Also, there is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down and can be the cause in increase workload that is making your Yoga 9i 14 run hotter than normal. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. Here is a link to instructions for uninstalling McAfee from a Windows computer:  https://service.mcafee.com/?articleId=TS101331&page=shell&shell=article-view You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of your Windows 11 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. The Lenovo Yoga i9 14-inch 4K OLED touchscreen laptop is an impressive piece of hardware that caters to a specific audience—those who desire high performance, stunning visuals, and versatility in one package. Starting with the display, the 4K OLED touchscreen is nothing short of exceptional. Colors are vibrant and true-to-life, with the OLED technology providing deep blacks and excellent contrast ratios. This makes it an excellent choice for tasks that require high visual fidelity, such as photo editing or video work. Performance-wise, the Intel Core i9 processor makes the laptop a powerhouse capable of handling demanding applications and multitasking with ease. One of the standout features is its 2-in-1 form factor. The laptop's versatility as both a traditional laptop and a tablet due to its foldable design makes it a superb option for those who value adaptability in their tech. It suits a variety of tasks, from high-end computing to casual browsing or sketching. In terms of compatibility, it generally plays well with a host of peripherals and offers a reasonable selection of ports. However, the limited number of USB-C and USB-A ports may require you to invest in a hub, particularly if you have multiple devices to connect. Battery life is often a concern with high-performance laptops that have 4K displays. While Lenovo has made strides in optimizing energy usage, you may still find that the battery drains faster than lower-resolution models, especially when running demanding applications. Financially speaking, the Lenovo Yoga i9 14" 4K OLED is at the higher end of the price spectrum. However, considering the top-tier performance, stunning display, and versatility, many may find the investment justified. In summary, this laptop is a strong contender for those seeking a high-performance machine with a spectacular display and versatility to boot. It does come with a higher price tag, but if you're looking for a machine that ticks almost all the boxes, this could very well be worth the investment.

Great computer all around! More than enough power, arguably the best screen offered on any 2-in-1 computer in the market, it’s super fast and has more than enough onboard storage. Two things I’ve seen others cite for lower ratings were the battery life and the loud fan noise. I utilize iCloud and OneDrive subscriptions for the storage of my files, and don’t retain a lot of large/unnecessary programs on my computer. I also keep mine plugged into a monitor that utilizes a USC-C charge/sync cable, so I can’t speak to claims regarding the battery life. I will say that I’ve noticed that the fan was a bit louder than I thought it maybe should have been when the computer was doing very little / running very few programs, etc., but it’s not something that I would consider a drawback in any sense. Hands down, one of the best computers on the market at a competitive price (even when comparing a similarly built, customized 9i through Lenovo directly). Save even MORE money by purchasing an “Open Box - Excellent (Geek Squad Certified)” or “Open Box - Excellent” condition - there’s NOTHING wrong with these computers at all, and in my case, it saved me $350 (after tax) by purchasing an “Open Box - Excellent” condition.

Hello, beasleyjr, thank you for choosing Lenovo! Should you or viewers of this response like additional information regarding fan speed/noise and some information regarding battery life optimization, here is a potential solution for these concerns - Smart Power. The Yoga devices have a feature called Smart Power that allows the user to adjust the thermal performance settings of your laptop. By pressing the Fn and Q keys, you can switch between three modes; battery saver, the screen will dim and performance can be throttled to limit fan activation and keep the device quiet, second is intelligent cooling, this uses the smarts of your computer to recognize tasks being completed and to rang up or down performance to optimize battery while giving a burst of speed when needed, and last is maximum performance, which is the mode where battery life is not a priority for the computer anyone, only delivering as much power and speed your processor and other components are capable of, resulting in internal fans activating often to help keep the internals cool. We appreciate you sharing your experience and are glad to hear that the design, features and performance of your Yoga 9i 14 meets your needs well. Lenovo

Show stopper! Everyone that sees this computer is in awe. At first i was worries the 2 screens woukd make this unit more fragile but that had not been the case. It has a grrat weight to it so you fell like its in your hands when holding and moving it. The speed and multi tasking performance it has, Has been more then what i hoped for. Yhe screens are beautiful and the battery life is enough to use this all day (like a reg laptop). If you are a multi screen user then i highly recommend this laptop.

I have been a Mac guy for about 10 years and the last time I touched a PC, it was running windows 8 and the experience was so bad that I swore I would never use a PC again - so, I can't believe I'm writing this review. Not only am I using PC but I'm actually enjoying using it! I started learning robotic process automation through uipath and their studio softward will not run on Mac so I needed to buy a windows machine to learn on. I spent lots of time at Best Buy, trying out the various options, looking for a laptop that provided both a solid hardware and software experience. I initially bought a Samsung but the amount of bloatware that was loaded onto that thing was unforgivable so I returned it. I ended up buying this Lenovo 9i and it's a really, really nice laptop. The display is beautiful, the performance is great, the trackpad and keyboard are solid, and the speakers sound decent. On top of that, the styling is elegant and sleek. This certainly wasn't the cheapest option but I feel as if it was the best option - especially if I'm looking for a long term solution. Additionally, kudos to Microsoft for refining Windows. Windows 11 is actually a pretty nice OS.

The laptop has a beautiful display and incredible specks. You'll love watching your content on this 4k screen and the colors just pop. If you prefer the more natural color look you can turn on HDR and it'll give you that. I bought an open box model and it was missing the pen and the battery would last for about 4-6 hours on browsing and watching movies. I loved the sound, by far the best sounding speakers on a laptop that are on par with the newest Macbook pro speakers. It even has 3 presets to alternate from for audio. Loved that you could fold it back and use it as a tablet. I will say that for all the specs it has, it still had a hard time working on Lightroom so I can't even imagine Adobe Premiere. I bought this laptop for light editing, watching movies and for school but ultimately had to return it because I needed more battery out of it. (I kept it for about two weeks). Would still recommend, buying it new was just out of my price range.

Perfect except for battery life. I do like the battery toggle (Conservation Mode) in the Lenovo Vantage app. It limits the charge to 75% - 80% capacity to maximize the battery’s lifespan. Amazing sound and performance - beautiful screen. The sound really is a great experience. WAY better sound than any other laptop I’ve heard. Some reviews state the fan is noisy. I disagree. But make sure you update the BIOS. I do basic work and stream videos. Most of the time the fans aren’t running, or nearly silent. When the fans do turn on, it’s pretty quiet. I don’t do any gaming, as this machine is not optimized for that. I’ve purposely run a bunch of programs to stress the processor and get the fans going. To me, even stressed, it’s not loud. If the battery life was better, I’d give this laptop 5 stars. It’s the best laptop I’ve ever owned. My previous laptop was an HP Spectre 360 (Intel i7) that my son is now using in college.
