I decide to try a PC for my new laptop (mostly for the touchscreen feature, which is awesome!), but this is the third one I've tried and it's going back now too :( I thought FOR SURE this one was going to be with me for a while, but I keep experiencing a dropped internet signal (sometimes it can be restored by running the diagnostic, but other times I have to restart). This is highly annoying since I am mostly using it for school, and it's unreliable while I'm taking timed quizzes, etc. (I don't even have a lot going on when it happens) Anyway, literally everything about this laptop is great EXCEPT for the internet signal, but I'm not going to waste more time on trying to fix or replace this one, or try yet ANOTHER PC, since I googled this issue with this laptop and apparently it's common (and it doesn't seem that people are able to fix the issue after applying the troubleshooting tips). It really upsets me when I see people having issues shortly after the return period and are stuck with a computer that has a major issue. I'm just going to return this while I still can.

Be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10 on the computer, the update all of the BIOS files and drivers up to that latest version of Windows 10. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this c740 laptop---even got the one with the fancy internals....not the cheapest one and I really wanted to love this laptop. But now...about 8 months in...some serious problems have made it unlovable. 1. This machine is prone to almost abnormal overheating. The fan works but it is abnormally loud. 2. About 7 months into ownership my fan started making abnormal noises, and I had to send it in for warranty repairs. They replaced the fan...the main board and reset my entire computer. I got it back...it works ok now but fan is still loud. 3. After they reset everything my touch screen won't work and on top of that I go online and discover oceans of people posting on forum how after some updates touch screen won't work. It is just too much nonsense to deal with.

Fast--plays media while I multitask without a hitch. Very quiet, very ergonomic. I really can't say enough at how impressed I am by this sub-$800 computer. Great buy for the money! I picked it up outside the store from a fully-protected employee. (Can you believe that some folks are still insisting we don't need to protect ourselves? Wow...like the wheel is turning but the hamster is dead!)

Love the 2-in-1 capability (of course, not nearly as light as an ordinary tablet). Backlit keys are a nice plus. And, better yet -- I paid the list price of $799.99, and today learned it had been discounted to $549.99. Called the number for the price match guarantee, and they immediately agreed to credit my card for $250 (plus tax)! Very pleased with this purchase!

Nice computer for $550 with weird squishy keyboard
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Grabbed this today on sale for $550 via student deal and mybestbuy member offer. So far I'm liking a lot about the laptop, but the keyboard is has a squishy feeling I'm not used to. I currently use a Lenovo Y700 and this keyboard feels a lot different than that one. Outside of that, which is a big issue to me because I'm having a lot of typing errors I don't normally make, the computer has been fine. The display is crisp and bright, which is a big plus. The touchpad is fine and doesn't jiggle around like the HP x360 14 does. I've been using it today to remote into work and haven't had any issues or slowdown at all while listening to music and doing some very light gaming. The keyboard though...man it's driving me absolutely nuts though. Overall, I think it's worth it for someone that doesn't have an issue with the keyboard and you get it for the $550 price. Because of the keyboard, I wouldn't recommend this at full price though. Grab it while you can on sale to try it out for yourself.

The 2 in 1 to Get!

Tremendous value here. The Yoga's c740 14 inch screen offers 300 nits of brightness (which is just enough imho) for a clear, crisp viewing experience and the screen offers more real estate over traditional 13.3" but still in a 13.3" frame. The speakers fire up and are excellent for watching NetFlix and YouTube TV. Soft keys but you will get used to it. The trackpad provides a nice click and beats Dell's or HP's. The fingerprint sensor is fast!- and works. Nice placement of the power button on the right rear means you won't accidentally hit it and it comes with USB-C charging. I get about 6-8 hours on the battery but there's a rapid charge feature. Some cons: The web camera is an afterthought and I suppose it's passable but you can slide the shutter shut anyway. There's no HDMI port or SD card reader so you'll need an adapter if you ever need these. If you buy this, make sure you run all the Windows Updates and run the Lenovo Vantage app for all driver updates. Good luck on your search....I'm happy with this one.

It wont run any games or animation apps. I thought with the reviews and seeing ppl run the sims game, but mine just freezes up. My son needed to download an animation app for school and as soon as it launches the laptop will freeze. Idk if i have a glitch or a bad laptop but it was a let down. And it is sad with the price that it didnt come with a stylus when I mainly use this laptop for work and a stylus would of been amazing. I have also noticed that my laptop has been getting very hot underneath and I have only had it for about 2 months.

I doubt I buy another Lenovo again. Really put me in a bind and I am very dissappointed in quality. Keyboard was not clear even when lit up and computer always lagged and blurred my documents trying to keep up.

I also love the design of the whole laptop such as its screen bezels are tiny giving it a really modern and premium vibe. The front facing speakers have Dolby Atmos which is great when consuming media. Since its a 2-in-1 I I have been using this in a tablet mode to take notes during classes. I like the little touches such as its camera privacy shutter slider and USB-C with quick charge that gives you 2 hours of battery life within 15 mins of charge time. I'm a senior in college and would recommend this laptop 100%.
