You can keep your computer running at its best by keeping the Windows 10 Operating System and all supporting BIOS files and drivers up to date. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Great Laptop with many features and Sturdy

This Laptop is fast and the I have never had a biometric finger reader work immediately as this PC! The sound quality because of Dolby Atmos is fantastic and so is the backlit keyboard (Two levels of key lights) . I have been a software engineer for 35 years (Many Laptops in my career) and this is the best laptop I have owned. My work Laptop is a "Lenovo Thinkpad T480S" which is very impressive but my preference is towards this PC. It is well made and hardy in use; I especially like the feel of the keyboard and the strong hinges. Overall a great buy. I have now also brought this Laptop for my daughter in Texas and she loves it also.

It checked the boxes for what we needed for virtual preschool but has a few nuances that are disappointing. The audio feedback when doing a virtual class means that we have to use headphones or else it is unusable no matter the changes we've made to settings. Additionally, at least once a week there seems to be a problem connecting to wifi that requires a hard reset. For the price and features the value is pretty good, I just wish it did everything consistently that was promised.

Only turn your microphone on when you need to talk, mute when listening. Also try to keep the microphone audio set to automatic volume control. Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga C740-14, model number 81TC000JUS, ships with a 4CELL_51WH_INTERNAL, Lithium Polymer Battery, with a battery life of up to 13 Hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are getting significantly less battery life, be sure Battery Conservation Mode id turned off. This power setting is for laptops that are plugged in all the time. This software will only charge the battery to 60-percent. This is to prolong the overall battery life. Here is a link to instructions for turning off Battery Conservation Mode:

There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. The battery life was great and I don’t have any complaints except.... it had an update one night when I went to turn it off, the update was taking a very long time, over an hour and when it finished the computer didn’t work. Black screen. Then I got it working again but it was unresponsive to touch or mouse pad touch. Then I read on here in someone else’s reviews how to reset the computer so I tried that. Still no luck. The computer then wouldn’t stop beeping loudly. I finally forced it off and took it to Best Buy to return after I saw on here other negative reviews had similar experiences as me. I was told that something was definitely wrong with this computer and that they would have to run diagnostics and then reinstall Windows and see if that helped. Thankfully I was within the return period and returned this because I can’t imagine having to mail it in to be fixed and being without a computer or having to pay for it to be fixed. I was told depending on the tests they run they may sell it as open box so buyer beware. I had this for two weeks and used it once, then once again when it stopped working.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you had issues installing a Windows 10 update. It is possible that resetting the computer and Windows 10 back to their original factory settings will fix the issue. This system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the bottom of the device, right near the top right corner of the cooling vent on the bottom of the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. Once you have the computer and Windows 10 reset, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. Nice just not for me

I am however wanting to trade in this laptop since it only has one usb port, no hdmi port, and lacks the capability to run the vegas movie studio 16 without crashing every 20 min into a project. I thought having an i5 processor would be able to handle it but nope.
