This was on sale, so relatively cheaper than the new model, but still it works great. The only thing I did not notice before I bought was that this does not have a cable connection I needed at work, and I had to use an adapter to hook up to the screen.

This laptop, while thicker, is actually lighter, more powerful in every respect, and significantly cheaper. She's been thrilled with it - spends 12 hours a day on it with battery to spare. Good keyboard, nice screen, fingerprint sensor is a real bonus. Webcam and microphone are a little bit finicky for whatever reason. But otherwise, very pleased.

Does everything they need (e.g., Minecraft, make videos for youtube, etc.) Relatively light weight, but also durable. 4 stars, because the price feels high based on the hardware, versus the competitive options on the market. Best Computer I've Ever Owned

I thought this computer was going to be not the greatest BUT I was WRONG! If you want an Apple computer but don't have the money, go for the Lenovo! I've always had an Lenovo for work and decided to take the leap for my small business and I love this little big thing. It is fast, has great optics. This is my first new personal computer in 5 years and they have come a long way.

Defective headphone jack - muted mic, left speaker

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had high expectations as this should be the ideal laptop for me: 2-in-1, 14"screen and very compact. Also very responsive for web-browsing. However, when I sanity checked the components to be sure it was a keeper, I found my mic/headphones did not work properly. Right speaker was fine but left was barely audible and mic did not work at all. I tested 2 3.5mm jack mic/headphones that worked on my old laptop with same result. I tested a USB headset that worked fine. When I tried my Sennheiser no-mic headphones they worked great on both channels: there is a difference between the mic and non-mic jack so it seems like a defective hardware component. I tried the floor-model with my headphones and had the same result i.e. not a one-off problem. Sadly I returned it. If you don't use a mic headset in the 3.5mm jack it won't bother you (USB was fine), or you can mitigate the problem by adjusting right balance down and left balance way up, and maximizing microphone-boost (device audio properties somewhere). However the mic. boost gave unpleasant voice echo in my case. Too bad as it is otherwise a very nice laptop. Hopefully it was just one bad batch or Lenovo have since fixed the 3.5mm jack issue in manufacturing.

Good alternative to Macbook Air

But I started noticing in zoom meetings that my audio would start sounding robotic. Then, the mic stopped working altogether at around 3 months. Now, I'm having to send it off to be fixed (and yes, Lenovo is covering it), but that still means I'm without a computer for at least a week.
