Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga C740-14. Here's a tip for making your fingerprint reader work every time: Try lightly sliding your finger over the fingerprint reader. No need to press hard on the reader, in fact pressing hard on the fingerprint reader will distort your fingerprint and cause read errors. Also, be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10, then update all of the BIOS files and drivers up to that latest version of Windows 10. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software installed on the computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.

Great for College

The actual laptop part is truly flawless and I love it, works perfect for all my online courses. Haven't tried gaming, but my sister has this same laptop and she plays easy games like Among Us that aren't too graphically advanced.

Its light, its very portable and fast. Touch screen works great. Mouse is good but a bit touchy. The screen feels solid but the keyboard side a bit cheap. I wish the keys were backlit. All in all worth the money and for my business.

Posted .The Lenovo Yoga C740-14 ships with a backlit keyboard. Hold down the Fn key then tap the Spacebar to turn on the backlighting. There are two light levels. With regard to the touchpad, you can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad. The Yoga C740-14 ships with a standard QWERTY keyboard with a 1.5 mm key travel for a great typing experience.

Got an open box of product we wanted which was not in stock. Came back the next day with questions. Only downside is understanding some unique aspects of Lenovo laptops, such as the camera shutter and the F key to turn off the TouchPad.

I needed something really portable, really friendly, and comfortable enough for me to type. However the camera can be better with Zoom and other teaching platforms. Camera quit working 1 week in and now I have to take it to be fixed. Good thing I bought all the warranty available.

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga C740-14. This model ships with a 720p (HD) webcam with manual Privacy Shutter. Be sure the Privacy Shutter is completely open before trying to use the webcam or the webcam will not operate. There is a small slider, directly above the webcam lens. Move the tab to the right to open the Privacy Shutter. There is a red dot over the webcam lens that will disappear when the Privacy Shutter is fully open. This will indicate that the webcam is really to use. You can close the Privacy Shutter when you are done with the webcam for your security, by sliding the tab to the left to close the Privacy Shutter. The Red Dot will appear over the webcam lens when the Privacy Shutter is closed. If the Privacy Shutter is open, but the issue continues, then check to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10 on the computer. Update all of the BIOS files and drivers, including those for the webcam, up to that latest version of Windows 10. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. Really sturdy device. Screen is bright. I really have any complaints for this process point. There are things that can be improved but this is why those devices cost over $1000. Got it for my daughter for her school and looking at it specs, sleekness, look, weight and battery life, couldn’t ask for more.
