Initially, the laptop was great. Then right at 1 month, the screen started freezing. Took it to geek squad - indicated it was a hard ware issue. Fortunately, they let us exchange it . After reading to work on the issue, it seems to be a common problem with this laptop.

We are sorry to hear that you had issues with your Lenovo Yoga C740-14. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo

Well this is the first purchase from Best Buy that I am so sorry I purchased this product. 1. I thought this was coming from the Brentwood store's inventory it came from Ohio. So much for buying local. 2. I thought I would have thirty days to return no not this PC. Maybe this has been a problem so they stopped returning instead removing bad products. 3. I cannot rely on this PC to charge itself. For some reason push and hold the plug and hope it charges. PC died during zoom meeting for training. I purchased this PC for a reliable connection to zoom meeting.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues charging your Lenovo Yoga C740-14, model number 81TC000JUS. This model ships with two (2) USB-c ports on the left side of the device. Only one can be used for charging this computer. Look for a wall plug icon next to the proper port for charging the computer, be sure you have the computer side charging plug connected to the proper port. If the charging issue continues, be sure Battery Conservation Mode is turned off. This power setting should only be used when the computer is plugged in all the time. Terrible laptop. I'm not sure if its the laptop itself or the software/os but it takes a long time to reconnect to the wifi after its been asleep or closed. The browsers also don't launch immediately, I have to click various times to get them to open. Sometimes/often too many the tabs get dragged around when clicking on them. There's also been times where the fingerprint scanner stops working and I have to search the internet thoroughly to get it working again. I bought this to replace my surface pro 4 which had a cracked screen but this thing has been a constant headache. I'm dissapointed in the ports it has for access but I did know that buying it. Even the keyboard doesn't exactly feel that great as well, the keys are very slippery if that makes any sense, i can feel my fingers slide off them and i have to make a conscious effort to type correctly to prevent typos, which happen frequently.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo Yoga C740-14, model number 81TC000JUS. Regarding WiFi connectivity and the generally slow performance of your Yoga C740-14 - First, Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If there is no incompatible software installed, but the issues persist, check to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10 on the computer. Then update all BIOS files and drivers up to that latest version of Windows 10. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. The Lenovo Yoga C740-14 ships with a standard QWERTY keyboard. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help. Lenovo

We hope the issue you were having with the Touchpad sensitivity on your Yoga C740-14 has been successfully resolved by now. If not, you can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad. If the issue continues, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo

This laptop is nice and sleek. However, I am giving it a 2/5 because the battery life is horrible! It DOES NOT LAST 13 HOURS! Even if it is in battery saving mode it still DOES NOT LAST FOR 4 HOURS OR MORE. I'm not sure if it's only my laptop or that's just how the laptop is. Overall, this would be perfect if the battery life lasted longer.

The Lenovo Yoga C740-14, model number 81TC000JUS, ships with a 4CELL_51WH_INTERNAL, Lithium Polymer Battery, with a battery life of up to 13 hours, depending on the work the device is performing and the battery management settings you are using. If you are only getting 4 hours of battery life, first, be sure you have Conservation Mode Turned off. This battery management setting is found within Lenovo Vantage under Hardware/Power. Expand the menu on the right side of the window and select Conservation Mode. Conservation Mode should only be used if you will be using your laptop plugged in all the time. To extend battery life overall, Conservation Mode only charges the battery to approximately 60-percent of capacity. Second, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down.
