This laptop is horrible to not purchase. Lenovo products never work and you are typically inconvenienced with having to send the product back. I have purchased a few laptops from best buy and the quality is poor. Will not purchase laptops from here any longer.

Unreliable machine. Within the first month, it needed a new motherboard. A couple months later, a new wireless card. And now (11/21) it needs a second new wireless card, plus the touchpad has stopped responding, altogether.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo Yoga C740-14. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo

When plugging in a headset or external microphone, the microphone volume is barely audible. This is with any headset, and after having the laptop serviced and the headphone jack replaced. It cannot be used in Zoom calls with more than one person.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with the 3.5mm headset jack on your Lenovo Yoga C740-14. Try making an audio recording offline by using the Windows 10 audio recorder installed on the Yoga C740-14. Here is a link to instructions for doing this:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/how-to-use-voice-recorder-6fbb53d5-0539-abda-a9a4-0bcb84a778e7. If you can playback the recorded audio and hear it at a normal volume level and/or increase - lower the volume by using the Yoga C740-14 audio controls, check the audio settings within the video conferencing APP you are using. Be sure that your device microphone is selected as your audio source, the audio source is off mute both on the computer and within the APP. We recommend you check with the video conferencing APP website for audio function tips and troubleshooting suggestions. Lenovo

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with the webcam on your Lenovo Yoga C740-14. This model ships with a 720p (HD) webcam with manual Privacy Shutter built in. Move the tab to the right to open the Privacy Shutter. There is a red dot over the webcam lens that will disappear when the Privacy Shutter is fully open. This will indicate that the webcam is really to use. You can close the Privacy Shutter when you are done with the webcam for your security, by sliding the tab to the left to close the Privacy Shutter. The Red Dot will appear over the webcam lens when the Privacy Shutter is closed. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up.
