Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues charging the battery within your Lenovo Yoga C740-14. Try letting the battery level of charge drop below 50-Percent. Now plug the computer back in with the supplied AC adapter/Charger, the computer should begin charging normally, back to a full 100-Percent Charge. If it does not, it is possible that resetting the computer back to original factory settings will also reset the battery, allowing it to once again take a charge. Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo Yoga C740-14. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo Yoga C740-14. It is possible that resetting the computer back to original factory settings may fix the issue you are having. This system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the bottom right side of the device, right near the top right side of the cooling vent on the bottom device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. If the problem persists after the factory reset, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

I have never had any issues with speed, quality or use. I give this laptop a 10/10 and I have owned everything from HP, Dell, Asus, Samsung, etc. Lenovo really has outdone themselves with this.

Decent laptop for students on a budget!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop for the start of the new school year as a senior and I needed something smaller and more portable than my old 15.5 inch. This laptop is the perfect size for me and its pretty lightweight. I really like the fingerprint scanner as it makes logging in super quick. I'm on my laptop for most of the day (13 hours sometimes) and the battery is advertised to last 10 hours and it does for the most part. As long as the screen brightness is dimmed and you have the best battery life thingy on, then the battery works great. The picture quality for movies and photos and such is amazing as well as the sound! I can have 9 tabs open and the computer still works flawlessly. No lagging or noticeable performance problems. I don't use the tablet mode but the computer does easily fold. One thing I did notice is that the battery indicator seems to not work very well. In a matter of half an hour it would say I have 8 hours then randomly drop down to 3. Aside from the inaccurate battery report, I haven't noticed any problems with the longevity of the battery. Another problem is with the webcam, which is a little grainy I noticed. I rarely use my webcam, only when I'm required, so it is not a problem for me. However, if you are someone who uses zoom, skype, google meet, your camera will be a bit grainy and unfocused. Someone had told me the microphone in the laptop sounded a little off when I spoke, but later they said I sounded better. Overall, the laptop is good for its price. Has great visuals, sound is superb, and battery is decent. Wish it spanned 12 hours but it works. Only downside really is the webcam (for students).

Regarding the battery level indicator, be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10 on the computer, then update all of the BIOS files and drivers up to that latest version of Windows 10. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.

It was my first time with a SSD drive and I was worried that I would run out of space. I use a 1TB passport to store my unused files that I want to keep and I move them back and forth. It has been a good laptop, fast, cleans easily and nice to touch. Backlit keypad is a bonus. At times I miss the keypad with the calculator on the right but the portability is key.

I used it for finishing up my Bachelors degree and an now in PA school and am still using it. I honestly have no complaints. It has everything that I need. Truthfully I came back here so that I could buy my sister one for her birthday.

I traded in a 2017 macbook pro that was OVERKILL for me. I would never need a laptop with the specs of that one. I was also ready to jump back over to windows for the first time in 9 or 10 years. I saw this laptop's predecessor, the 730. I waited until there was a newer model for minor changes (aka thin bezels that give you a 14 in screen rather than 13 in and a 10th gen processor). This laptop is enough to do ANYTHING i would need, but it has so much to offer than just a basic PC or Chromebook. I love the webcam cover built in, the fact it has a headphone jack and USB-A port. The keyboard is heaven like any other lenovo product (especially large upgrade from the macbook pros flat butterfly keys). My ONLY complaint is no thunderbolt 3 port; thats the only thing. I would recommend this to ANYONE with any level of computing needs short of intense gamers and creative professionals. amazing laptop.
