Love this machine!!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tested the Lenovo C940 14" IL 2 in 1 4K UHD 16GB 512 GB SSD + 32GB Optane against the HP spectra 360x 4k OLED 13 inch 16GB 1 TB SSD 32GB Optane and preferred the C940 hands down and here is why. First off the keyboard is fantastic. It has just enough travel for me plus they hit the mark with the touch pad. It is perfectly off center so when you type you are not accidently hitting the touchpad like I did on the HP (which is huge and centered). Also the screen resolution is beautiful on the C940 with the 500 nits over the OLED 400 nits. The speed was the same when I hit the bar because both have 32GB Optane. The 14 inch Lenovo screen gives you not only a brighter screen but it is perfect at the recommended setting for having a normal reading resolution. When you enlarge the HP spectra 360x screen because it is soooo small, you lose real-estate on the screen. I only enlarged the HP from the recommended 300 to 250 and I could not access my FSW portal as the schools banner was now up in front of the sign in tab. Never mind the obvious reason, that the Lenovo it is much cheaper in price but not quality and is just as nice. I also went with the Lenovo C940 because it has an on board pen that I will not lose because it is stored right in the laptop. I honestly don't find it to hot. I does get warm but only during windows download and that is when I heard the fans, otherwise I have not had a problem or heard the fans since. I am 58 and not a tech person, just a woman who did her research and did a hands on comparison of the two laptops. I know that all those test that they show on the reviews puts the HP ahead but on a user end review the Lenovo C940 out shines the HP Spectra 360x (which by the way gets cranking hot! with normal use). Oh yes and the battery life on the HP is ridiculously short (4 to 6 hours tops. It died in sleep mode and I had to reduce resolution and brightness so what's the point of the OLED?). The Lenovo gets about 9 to 10 hours so far. I just thought I would give a review like I would like to have seen. I have had this computer only two weeks and use it for school and photography. I am hoping to get a few years out of it before I need to upgrade. Oh also I bought it at $1599 and the next day it was $300 cheaper and got the price match on it. Just a quick note on the price match. It will not be returnable if you do the price match in 14 days so I would return and rebuy at that time if you have any doubts about keeping it. Though I don't know why you wouldn't want to keep it, it is a fantastic machine. I also got the 2 year warranty as you can never tell with these machines what will happen. If something happens I will edit this review.

Nice Purchase
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop looks great in design, crispy display, good processing speed, nice sound, comfortable touch pad, sleek, and light in weight. I bought open box - excellent condition. so the price was good for me too. The laptop i received has screen display issue. flickering after some time for a few seconds. I found out when it was too late to return. so I had to work with google search and I tried a fix which so far looks good. second issue with battery life. it usually lasts for 3/4 hours. if you are only browsing and not streaming a video or music. I am expecting that windows updates may help increase the battery performance at some point down the road. it only has c-type charging, which i am not used to but it seems good too. I am giving 4 stars since there many positive points than negatives; my world is not perfect so i can live with it.

Fast & sleek, great sound
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is replacing a Yoga Pro I wanted upgraded from Win/8 to Win/10 and discovered the hard drive was failing. Sound is EXCELLENT... volume is only by function key. Screen is very clear but certain apps control areas/menus are very small. The keyboard on the Mica colored machine can be difficult to see. The lighting (2 brightness settings plus off) on the keyboard helps but not in certain lighting situations. ► Had I known I'd likely have gone for the darker color. Glide pad is very sensitive (good) but it took a while to get used to left click, right click. I'd prefer ports were distributed on both sides instead of all on the left. I'm left handed so when I hold the PC/tablet up to watch a video, etc, my hand is bumping the headphone jack all the time. Power goes to one of the 2 USB 3.1 Type C ports. One USB type A port and a headphone jack. No SD card slots. ► Plan on getting a port extender but it gets confusing what hooks to what. I was recommended the Hyperdrive GN30B Ultimate 11-in-1 USB C Hub. Which works and will charge USB A devices although slowly. Connecting wasn't documented but the Lenovo charger goes into the only Hub USB C port then the Hub's USB C cord goes into the Lenovo power input port leaving you only one USB C port (on the computer) for an external device. You have 2 USB A ports on the Hub and one on the PC. ► I also use the HDMI port on the hub for connecting to a larger screen (in my case a TV) for watching some streaming videos like horse shows.

EXCELLENCE ALL AROUND
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is long but very helpful to graphic designers :) I'm a graphic design student. I previously had a 2019 MacBook Pro with Touchbar, it was average. I didn't purchase the upgraded version simply because it's too expensive. Apple has great products good quality, premium feel, excellent screen resolution overall I was satisfied with the MacBook. I have an iPad pro which works great with the pen but something kept telling me to get a touchscreen laptop. I was really searching for a while and first found Surface Book 2 but for the price it was the same specs as the MacBook and I wanted more. After this I found the HP Spectre. Great laptop only issue I had was the color and size. It was too big for me and the pen was so easy to loose so I returned it. When I found this Lenovo Yoga C940 I truly fell in love. To begin the display is GORGEOUS. 4K display for graphic design is PERFECT. My Photoshop files are larger than 5GBs and the laptop does not lag AT ALL. The touchscreen saves me so much time when editing designs on Photoshop. The pen built in feature is PERFECT. I don't have to worry about loosing it plus it charges at the same time. I was actually going to return it 7 days ago because I wanted to try the new iPad pro but let me tell you the Photoshop file that I transferred was so big even a simple task like erasing a section of my 5GB Photoshop file was too much. The iPad LAGGED! The sound is PHENOMENAL!! The 2 in one feature makes it so easy to use the pen. Battery life is strong. I use Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, 5 tabs of Google all at the same time. I use it heavily and for a long period of time. I also play Xbox sometimes, it lags a little but it's not a priority for gaming. Overall the laptop is AMAZING!! BEAUTIFUL design, slim, practical, and most importantly AT A GREAT PRICE. 16GBS of ram, 512 GBs of storage. Something similar to this would be over $3,000 with Apple, but most importantly not touch and that is a must have!

Small But Powerful PC
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the feel of the keyboard (and that it's backlit), and it's really fast for all the applications I've tried so far. Excellent sound quality, and excellent screen too. Lightweight as well. The only downside I see is that it's limited for ports. I had to buy a separate hub to be able to use several peripherals (including a separate CD player). Other than that, no complaints.

Great 4K Laptop - Poor Battery Life
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent laptop. Fast, outstanding build quality, beautiful 14"/4K display, track pad and keyboard work well, awesome sound. I really liked the ability to turn off the track pad using a top row key (comes in handy when doing a lot of typing). Overall, I believe it is superior to the Macbook Pro 13 inch. Unfortunately, the battery life on this 4K model is poor. If I took this laptop to the local library to do some research/writing, I'd be looking for a power outlet after just 4-5 hours. These days, I think 7-8 hours of battery life is reasonable. To get decent battery life, you must turn down the screen brightness so much that it defeats having the 4K display. The poor battery life gave me no choice but to return this great laptop to Best Buy. If long battery life is not a high priority, I recommend this 4K laptop. If you don't need a 4K display, I suspect the FHD model gets much better battery life. By the way, after owning several Mac and PC laptops, I believe Apple's battery life estimates are the most in line with real world use.

Posted .The Lenovo Yoga C940-14 4K model ships with a 4CELL_60WH_INTERNAL, Lithium Polymer Battery, with a battery life of up to 10 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are only getting 4 to 5 hours of battery life, first, be sure Battery Conservation Mode power management setting is turned off. This power setting is used for laptops that are plugged in all the time and only charges the battery to 60-percent to extend the overall life of the internal battery. Here is a link to instructions for turning off Battery Conservation Mode:
https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103159. If Battery Conservation Mode is not turned on and the battery life is still not up to expectation, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Best Laptop I have ever had
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got it on sale and with a student discount on top. With all that in mind, I am so happy I bought this. Fast, productive, and the quality is amazing. It also comes with a stylus. 4k resolution on the display and good battery life so far. For the price, it blows the surface line (which I am a big fan of) out of the water. Check out youtube videos comparing this model to the competition and even at full retail, it is amazing.

Better QualityThan Dell and Exceptional Resolution
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love love love this laptop! The build quality is excellent. The picture quality is top notch. It is super fast and meets all of my expectations. I love watching movies and TV on this little gem. The size and weight are perfect and honestly it is a sexy little laptop that I'm proud to pull out of my bag. I don't use it as much in tablet mode, but when I do, I like that the stylus is right there in its compartment ready to go without me rooting through my bag. The quality for the price is surprising. I purchased this to replace my Dell 2 in 1 after hours of researching expert tech reviews. There were some issues with my Dell that soured me on going with a new one. I am so glad I chose the Lenovo Yoga. There is only one small complaint. All the ports are on the left side and only one USB. For more robust use at my home office I have purchased a port adapter to provide an HDMI and additional USB ports. This has solved the issue nicely. My pro-Apple friends keep trying to get me to convert to Mac, but after experiencing Lenovo quality, all I can say is Mac who? Dell? No thanks. I am Lenovo fan all the way now.

Good computer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am happy with this computer so far. I've only had it for a few weeks, but it has a lot of features that I really like. Such as, the camera cover that is built in. The sound is good and it runs well. I enjoy the option for the battery conservation, which manages the battery so it will potentially last longer. Screen is nice, and the pen works well. The palm detection of the screen however is not the best which makes it slightly difficult to write on the screen as a tablet with the pen. The computer is pretty light in terms of weight, which is something I really enjoy as well.

Great 2-in-1! Low battery life though.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I do love this laptop, especially since I got it at a great sale price! I got the processor, GB and SSD i wanted. If i got the same specs on another laptop it would have cost me much, much more! The 4k is beautiful and the touchscreen and track-pad are responsive. I only have 2 regrets. 1st. The battery life, I'm averaging about 5-6 hours of regular "continuous" use, but I've learned to deal with it since it charges pretty fast. If I only use it occasionally throughout the day, like 1-3 hours at a time than a full charge lasts me all day into the late evening. If i wouldn't have gotten the 4k UHD modeI than I would have longer battery life. I haven't used it for heavy work yet. I operate it at a lower power setting. Don't get me wrong, when I used a MacbookPro for a full workday (photo editing) I still had to charge it mid day. When the battery is low I work while its charging NBD. The 2nd is the stylus pen. It works great and is convenient but its too small for my hands to use effectively. I purchased a new bigger pen to use instead. I haven't received that yet so we'll see. Other than these 2 issues, its amazing and its beautiful! The soundbar on this laptop has to be best in class!!!! I want to give it 4 3/4 stars but i can't.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm in IT and engineering. I usually don't purchase computers through Best Buy, but this pandemic is changing a lot of things. I needed a machine for my own use after sending my last laptop (mine) to an employee who was in trouble. One of the reasons I don't order consumer computers is because the OS and BIOS are usually need to be updated (a lot) out of the box. Moreover, the include a lot of crapware. This was not any different. However, once you put the time in to rid it of junk and update the important bits, it's a pleasantly speedy machine with good specifications for most users. It's equivalent to the Dell XPS 9300 in terms of performance so far, after the myriad of updates. And, the 14" 4K screen is a hair larger than my Dell's 13.4" screen, which is nice for tired eyes. My plan is to order another Dell for work, but I will be keeping this machine for home use. My kids will enjoy using it too for their creative work, given it has pen support. Two Thunderbolt ports and a USB-A port seems sensible and about the minimum a home computer should have, given one is used by the charger. One item of note is that the BIOS needed to be updated to solve a rather frustrating initial video glitch. Once complete, the machine works as expected. Wait to catch it on sale for $200 off. At the lower price, it's about the best option on the market for the money.

Great device but mine was DOA
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop in January, and right off the bat, it began to give me issues: the fans were SO LOUD that it was discernable at all times in a quiet room (and could even be heard above normal conversational levels), even when I was just running Google Chrome. I assumed this was just because the device was set to operate at such a high level with 16 GB memory and i7. In February, I left the country, so was unable to bring it to Best Buy for a look. In March, when I returned to the US due to COVID, I had to spend a lot more time on Zoom, and the laptop would crash constantly. It would freeze, the screen would flash green and red, and when it froze, it would make a horrible screeching noise. It froze nearly every day. I eventually did a factory reset on the device which cleared up the freezing issue for a few months, but the device's fans were still loud and it would get HOT. Unable to touch it HOT. Last month, the green/red flashing continued, and I took it to Geek Squad. They sent it out for diagnostics/repair under warranty, where I've now been informed that the device had a defective motherboard and defective thermal modules upon purchase. I've had to buy a Microsoft Surface Pro ($800) in the interim to attend my classes remotely, which is working far better than my $1600 Lenovo device ever did. I look forward to getting my device back, but now that I have a Pro, I'm not even sure that I want my Yoga back given the multitude of issues I experienced with it. I've attached a photo of what happens when the screen would flash.

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I first bought the 15" Surface Laptop 3 (8gb RAM/ 256 SSD) upon release date, but quickly realized I overpaid for a sub-par device. Although sleek and having a beautiful matte black finish, that is where the good part ends. Simply put, the Lenovo Yoga blows it out of the water in terms of 'bang for your buck.' For $50 less (best buy had it discounted $300) you get twice the RAM and twice the SSD. If that's not impressive enough, you also get an amazing 4k display and a speaker system that, once again, blows the Surface Laptop 3 out of the water. Although the Yoga C940 does not have Windows Hello, it has a very responsive fingerprint scanner that makes logging in a snap. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 (and I'm being picky) is that when typing, the keys sound a little bit too 'snappy'. All in all, I'm very impressed with this laptop, and you should have no reservations to pull the trigger on the Lenovo C-940.

Very Good Computer With Flaws
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer is one of the fastest and easiest to setup that I've ever had. It took only around 10 minutes to set up. It connected to the Internet so fast I could not believe it was done. The screen is also terrific. It is very clear and sharp. I have used the pen a little for drawing and once again it works extremely well. The fact that you can store it in the back of the computer is a big plus. So, why not 5 stars you might ask. Well, there were two reasons. First of all I had significant problems getting the microphone to work. In this day and age when Zoom plays a larger role in my life than it used to, this becomes a big deal. The computer would constantly lose the microphone. Eventually, a repair person came to my house and replaced the microphone. It worked for a couple of days and then stopped again. I unistalled it, downloaded drivers from the Lenovo site and reinstalled it and it has been working ever since, so we'll see how this plays out in the long term. The second problem is not, I believe, so easily solved. That is that the keyboard is not the best. For some reason the keys seem hard to use. I would say they are stiff but it's almost more than that. If you don't hit them exactly in the right spot the letter does not show up. I'm am usually a very fast typist but with this keyboard you have to go slow and make sure you press relatively hard and place you fingers in exactly the right spot. Even then, some letters just don't show up or some times end up showing up doubled. Regardless, it is a problematic keyboard. If I were purchasing this for work I would return it. Since it's for home and I don't have to type as quickly it is adequate to the task. I just wish the keyboard were better. I can't tell you how many times while typing this out that I had to go back and correct things. It is very annoying.

You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If there is no incompatible software installed on the computer, then check to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10 on the computer, then update all of the BIOS files and drivers, including those that control system audio and the keyboard functions, up to that latest version of Windows 10. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.

Ehhh was hoping for something better
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best thing about this laptop was the price I paid for it. 4k picture is unbelievable too. Other than that, all the complaints about the battery not loading long are true... Exterior surface not as scratch resistant than I had hoped. Fingerprint sensor not as stable as I had hoped. Battery does get hot.

Outstanding display, terrible battery life
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this computer for a month now, and it still hasn't replaced my 8 year old laptop. The reason why is the worse than expected battery life. I kept it because it gives me more space to do spreadsheets and run other programs side by side. Pros: Outstanding display Excellent sound Great overall design Cons: Terrible battery life - my first one would run for 3 hrs at max performance streaming youtube. Best Buy exchanged it within the 14 day period, and this one runs about 4 hrs at max. Pen can be tough to remove. Keys are a bit softer than I prefer, arrow buttons unnecessarily squished. OS - should come with Windows Pro WiFi - cuts out intermittently, but this may be an issue with everyone using devices at their homes in this housing complex during COVID CPU - still lags sometimes when opening browser windows, etc. Hoping this improves with future firmware updates.

Posted .The Lenovo Yoga C940-14 4K model number 81Q90041US, ships with a 4CELL_60WH_INTERNAL, Lithium Polymer Battery, with a battery life of 10 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are only getting 3 to 4 hours of battery life, first, be sure you have not turned on Battery Conservation Mode. This power management option only charges the battery to 60-percent capacity and should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. Here is a link to instructions for turning off Battery Conservation Mode:
https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103159. If you are not using the Battery Conservation Mode, but still only get 3 to 4 hours of battery life, then, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. Amazing display and sound quality!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this for my wife for university use. The screen on this is so so nice! I know the battery suffers a little, but man is it worth it! It's so sharp, bright and colorful! And the sound is probably the best on it's class. Performance is acceptable, but after seeing the performance of AMD, Intel is a little left behind. But is good enough for student use. And the thing is, the more premium displays are still on intel models. Overall my wife loves this laptop. It's a joy to look at. Also build quality is amazing. The cherry on top is that I got it at an amazing price, because I got an open box. But it was basically new.

Great laptop. Not so great battery
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the 4K model yesterday and while I am very happy with how responsive it is, I am not thrilled with battery performance on this laptop. Tt seems to last about 4:30 hours, which is nowhere near what the website or reviews I read claim. Other than that, it has a fantastic speaker system and the colors look really sharp and clear. It has a very low noise-level fan and I have noticed some unexpected heating on the bottom while conducting basic tasks and placed flat on a table, but it's nothing that becomes a deal breaker. I will continue to evaluate the battery over the next few days to decide If I will keep this one or return it. Honestly, I was expecting better battery from a laptop costing almost $1500.

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga C940-14 4K Model. With regard to battery life, this model ships with a 4CELL_60WH_INTERNAL, Lithium Polymer Battery, with a battery life of up to 10 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you have just started using the computer, the battery life indicator is still learning the actual battery life, based on your actual workload. Check what the actual battery life is rather than what is indicated on the Battery Life indicator. Over time, as the Battery Life indicator learns your average workload, the accuracy of the Battery Life indicator will improve. Also check to be sure Battery Conservation Mode is turned off. This feature is used when the computer is plugged in most of the time. It will only charge the battery to 60-percent to extend the overall life of the battery. You can find Battery Conservation Mode controls within Lenovo Vantage APP. Also, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key.
