The laptop is great - lightweight, 4K display, good sound, useful stylus (although could have been more pen like), convenient 2in1 mode etc. Cons - battery is not even close to 10 hours claimed even if many of the apps are disabled. Disappointed with battery life

The Lenovo Yoga C940-14 4K model ships with a 4CELL_60WH_INTERNAL, Lithium Polymer Battery, with a battery life of up to 10 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are getting substantially less battery life, First, set your screen brightness at less than 100-percent - try 80-percent to start with. Then, be sure Battery conservation Mode is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. Here is a link to instructions for turning off Battery Conservation Mode: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103159. Also check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Be sure only the programs you want running in the background are. These programs will drain the battery. Here is a link to information about how to find out what programs are running in the background on your Windows 10 computer and how to manage them for better system performance: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-prevent-apps-running-background-windows-10. Then, finally, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. This is my first Lenovo after having exclusively Dell Latitude systems for the past 15 years. My last Latitude 7390 2-in-1 constantly blue screened and Dell wanted me to send my computer in to them and be without it for 14 days. This simply wasn't an option so I got this instead. The screen is beautiful, the sound is impressive. Very well made with high quality materials. I also love the finger print reader, the keyboard and track pad. My Dell had the same memory, a lower capacity hard drive and an i5 yet this Lenovo seems to lag quite a bit. I notice it in Chrome and Microsoft applications and it isn't subtle either. Perhaps it needs to be wiped and loaded with a fresh copy of Window but I shouldn't have to do that on a brand new system. I hope it's an easy fix and I get to keep the system!

Great 14 inch laptop! Premium build all around. Screen is vivid and bright. Battery life is almost all work day with normal uses. Sound bar is impressive. The pen can be a bit hard at first to remove, but got better after it was used a few days, it is a bit small. Gets warm on your lap but not too bad. Optane. You need to disable it, download the latest optane drivers from intel and then reenable. If not your fans will be constantly spinning up and down and a annoying process never ends in task manager. Took me a week but found out the old optane driver was the issue. Laptop is quiet and fast now!

I have used this everyday at home and in the field. All the features of this machine are great. From the fingerprint biometrics, to the Dolby Atmos sound. The speed is great, power to handle zoom meetings while recording to save video for later. Bluetooth and WiFi have no trouble connecting to my phone, printer, and everything else. Battery life is shorter than expected, however I mostly use this 2 in 1 where AC power is available, and when I do use the tablet features I have had enough power to do so on the go. I have estimated an average of 5.5 hours on battery while using WiFI, bluetooth and checking emails, or using my invoicing software. Overall a well built machine.

It’s a great laptop... just the right size between a too small 13.x” and too big 15.x” and only 3 pounds. It boots in seconds and the performance is excellent, probably result of the “optane” memory. It runs huge excel worksheets, SQL Server, and visual studio without issue. Got a small usb-c hub off amazon for $30 and hooked it up to a 4K monitor (bestbuy $250) and the results are phenomenal. The battery lasts all day and recharges quickly. I was a little apprehensive about the extra $300 for the 4K screen, but I wanted 16GB, and am really glad I upgraded over the 12GB model. I just can’t overemphasize how how happy I am with this pc, having come off a 7 pound, 17”, 4th gen I7 “laptop”.

I was looking for a laptop for a while and finally settled on this one. The screen is gorgeous, however the battery life with the 4k display is not great, however this is expected and for me it isn't an issue. If battery is important, get the one with the 1080p display instead. Build quality is also fantastic. It is very solid and well put together. It feels premium. Track pad works really well and the keyboard is very nice to use. There is also a fingerprint sensor for lightening fast log-in. It also is quick for typical use and has the power for more intensive tasks like playing 4k videos. The 16GB of RAM should be plenty for most people. The pen is a nice little feature to have, however it wasn't necessary for me. The screen is touch sensitive as well, and it works as expected. The speaker is phenomenal. I doubt there is any other laptop with as good of a built in speaker as this laptop. It has great bass and can get very loud. I highly recommend this to anyone who needs a lightweight laptop with good power and premium build quality.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga C940-14 4K model. This model ships with a 4CELL_60WH_INTERNAL, Lithium Polymer Battery, with a 10 hour battery life, depending on the work the device is performing. To maximize battery life, first adjust your battery saver settings. Here is a link to instruction for doing this in Windows 10:  https://www.digitalcitizen.life/how-use-configure-battery-saver-windows-10. Next, to maximize battery life, be sure there are no unwanted programs running in the background, draining the battery. Here is a link to some tips for finding out what is draining your battery:
https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/battery-saver-windows-10. Also, to maximize battery life, try changing your power management setting to a more conservative one. I purchased this laptop about a month ago and so far love it! After a month of use I don't yet have any complaints. Observations: 1) The battery life has been great for my usage. 2) The fingerprint sensor works great - I did not have this on my previous laptop and enjoy the convenience and instant wake up from sleep. 3) I saw in the reviews that some people complained about the keyboard, but I have no issues with it and find it to work very well. 4) I appreciate that it has a headphone jack. 5) The sound from the speakers is terrific - a huge improvement from my previous laptop. 6) The weight of this laptop is terrific - the lightweight makes it perfect for all of my traveling needs. I have not yet had the opportunity to put the pen to good use so I can't comment on that. In summary, I'm happy with this powerful and portable 15 inch 2-in-1 with an integrated pen that's great for both work and multimedia consumption. I would openly welcome a ThinkPad version of this laptop if it were to come.

Loved this laptop except for one dealbreaker issue

I did a lot of looking around and research before I decided to purchase this laptop. I have an old Lenovo laptop that's over 5 years old that I used in college for writing papers and other school work. It worked great (and still does for basic tasks), but now for my job, I needed a better laptop with more processing power (especially working remotely indefinitely due to covid). Pros: I really really love the sleek, stylish design of the laptop. It is very thin and lightweight, and looks expensive and high quality in my opinion. The bezel around the screen is thin, and the 4K UHD looks beautiful and vibrant. I love having the flexibility to fold it over and use as a tablet or have it stand up. I also love the 14" screen because it's almost an impossible size to find. The laptop is very fast and responsive and I had no issues with large Excel files like I did with my older laptop. Cons but I could live with: Although the 4K screen looks nice, it is a battery drain. On a dim screen and not doing a whole lot, I only got 6-7 hours of battery life max. If you have the screen at full brightness, you probably won't get half that. Honestly, I could have lived with this though, as when I'm at home working it's easy to keep plugged in most of the time. The other thing I wasn't totally in love with is the keyboard. I felt like the keys were a little shallow and hard to type with, but not a dealbreaker and something I could get used to. Dealbreaker: This laptop constantly dropped my wifi connection. And I know it was the laptop because none of my other devices, including my old laptop, ever dropped the wifi during the several minutes each time I would be disconnected from the internet. And it didn't matter how far or close I was to my router, my connection would drop at best, once every couple hours, though there were times it dropped probably 10 times in an hour repeatedly. I googled this and saw many threads about others having this issue with this laptop and other Yoga models in general. I reset the laptop to factory settings more than once, tried every suggestion I saw from Lenovo and others on their support boards, and reinstalled the latest wifi driver directly from the Intel website to no avail. And I actually exchanged my first Yoga laptop for the exact same one, hoping I had just gotten a dud, which still had the same intermittent wifi connection issues. I would send it in to Lenovo to look at if I had already owned it a few months and had no choice at that point, but this just wasn't a problem I was willing to deal with for a brand new laptop a few days old that I had paid over $1500 for. Being able to connect to the Internet and stay connected is essential. So back to the store this 2nd one goes. I am honestly really bummed about the wifi issue, because I would have kept the laptop otherwise. There wasn't really another comparable PC I was interested in - I have owned Dell before and didn't really want to get one again because of past issues, and am not very interested in the giving the HP Spectre a try. So I ultimately ended up switching to MacBook Pro, though there are things about the Yoga I truly liked better and have always been a Windows user.

This laptop has a beautiful screen, built-in stylus and is light enough to carry around. The CPU and storage are plenty fast to get your through much of your work. It has a good battery life and great sound. The keyboard is a bit too spacious, but you can adjust after a bit and get used to it. The trackpad is really really bad -- barely responding to slight swipes and just too painful to work with. I can forgive almost anything, but for a laptop this price, the poor design of the trackpad is just unforgivable. I've seen threads on Reddit with Lenovo techs promising fixes via firmware, but none have come months later. In researching, this issue spans multiple products and just never gets fixed. Luckily, I've been using a mouse when I can, but it isn't why I got this laptop. This will be my last Lenovo laptop.

I am particular about KEYBOARDS and had to try it myself before buying. As an ultrabook, this is not the typical Lenovo keyboard but it is definitely the best out there for this thin of a laptop. The 4k SCREEN is sublime. I do some photo editing and it is much easier to see and do detailed work... touch helps with that as well. As this was not my primary need for a laptop--I use it mostly for work--I was concerned about impact on BATTERY. After about a month of typical, medium to heavy use I have had no issues. It lasts as long as my old macbook air did (This is definitely a upgrade). I have not been able to find a CASE that allows the laptop to fold all the way flat in tablet mode, but I use tent mode more frequently for photo editing and that doesn't bother me much. The SOUND is somewhat hollow, which is expected as you can see straight through the speaker if you get the right angle. However, the hinge feature is nice if you want to stream in tent mode. Otherwise, the laptop is Bluetooth capable and comes equip with a headphone jack. The only reason I gave this 4 STARS is because and aesthetic component on the bottom front of the screen became unglued from the screen and does not lay completely flat. I also wish it came with Windows Pro, but I will take it! Love this laptop/tablet/photo editor/TV! I am also glad places like Best Buy still exist, I would never have been as confident buying a laptop online. Please support them!

Purchased this laptop for my wife after reading a lot of reviews. Her key needs were small size, nice keyboard and long battery life. This one (the second one we've tried) will be going back to the store. In addition to the amazing 4K display, the C940 has both a diminutive size (3 lbs) and excellent keyboard for its size. The battery life, however, is way below average based upon real-life conditions. In our research, reviews had said battery life should be around 10-11 hours, in reality it's 4 or 5. We've configured just about everything we could to improve the battery life, to no avail. The first one we bought, we actually returned after chatting with customer support as they decided it must have been defective. We got a second laptop a few weeks later and, sadly, the results are the same. Other models with the lower resolution screen appear to get better battery life, so we might have to check those out. As a result, this model is a disappointment for its price in comparison with the competition. If you don't care about portability as you won't stray too far from a plug in for too long, this is a stylish laptop that's well-powered. But, if you want long-lasting portability, look elsewhere.

https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103159. If Battery Conservation Mode is not turned on, but battery life is still 4 to 5 hours, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. If there is no incompatible software installed but battery life is still 4 to 5 hours, next check the programs running in the background on the device, to be sure only the programs you choose are running in the background. These background programs do drain the battery. Here is a link to instructions for checking background programs:  https://www.onmsft.com/how-to/how-to-see-what-programs-are-running-in-windows-10. If you are looking for a computer perfect for college, I would recommend the C940, maybe not the 4k screen except you edit videos or something along those lines. Overall I love this computer, the keyboard overall the best I have ever experienced. Battery life is not the greatest and this device charges with 65W, there are not many powerboats that output 65W so keep that in mind when purchasing.

Once again, thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga C940-14 4K model. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. It is an excellent choice for the personal computer with extra computing power. This laptop has got everything that you can think of: it’s got touchscreen, a pen, it’s got power it’s got enough ram and a big & super fast hard drive (SSD). It’s the perfect size I was looking for (14”), not too bulky not too small just perfect. Speed: Super fast. It boots up in few seconds. Design: Great design, very slim and portable. Sound: Speakers are powerful and premium quality. Display: It’s got 4k screen. Everything is crystal clear. Battery Life: It’s pretty good for the screen and speaker it supports. I’m far more pleased with aesthetics. BestBuy had an excellent deal that I couldn’t pass on.

This laptop is great! I spent more on the 4K display model than I wanted to, but I'm happy I did. the screen is amazing. the speakers are one of my favorite parts. they are loud, clear, and perfect for movies and music. having the speakers rotate when I flip to tablet mode is awesome as well, they still sound better in laptop mode but the concept is great. The processor runs great as well, the laptop is fast and reliable. works perfectly for streaming movies, music, and youtube. it is great for games and for school and the build quality just feels really nice. I do wish it had a USB-A port but that's really the only complaint I had and I can buy a $10 adapter for that. overall I love this laptop.

This is is a great computer with fantastic build quality. The screen is absolutely gorgeous although not quite as nice as OLED offerings from some of its rivals. The lack of a dedicated graphics card also causes the machine to struggle on occasion to power all those pixels, and battery life takes a large hit. If you need more than 5 hours or so unplugged seek out the 1080 version of this machine and you will see it last more than twice as long. You can also partially remedy the graphics problem with an eGPU. Sound is best in class. I am still amazed by just how great this thing sounds. I do however regularly run into a glitch where waking from sleep causes a loss of connection to the internal speakers forcing a restart to get sound back. Touch screen works great. The included stylus is functional but small so will probably need an aftermarket replacement if you plan to use that function regularly. Keyboard is comfortable to type on with keys having a nice amount of travel and a solid feel.

Battery life is short - about five hours with 50% brightness, but this is the case with all 4K laptops, in fact better than many. The display is amazing. I had some issues with my unit, it had been purchased as an open box unit and was missing the power supply, also very poor benchmark performance, but had purchased the on-site service plan from Lenovo. I can also testify to this plan and to Lenovo responsiveness and service - all the more remarkable during Covid times. Tech support routinely answers chats in just a few minutes, the techs are generally very knowledgeable, and with the on-site service plan in my experience they will stop at nothing to make things right.

This is easily one of the prettiest laptops I've ever laid eyes on. Smooth and premium metal, solid construction and a very nice keyboard. Lightweight and fairly easy to operate one-handed. The display is good, but not great even though it's 4K. Color accuracy is a bit off even with calibration, although very sharp image overall. The case does get a bit hot when under stress as well, and I'm sure the lack of vents contributes to that. Very fast processing and the SSD in particular reads very fast. The audio from the sound bar hinge is also very impressive as well, definitely a nice change of pace to have good audio in a laptop. Now for the major negative, battery life. You'll be lucky to squeeze 6 hours out of this thing unless you keep the screen fairly dim or use battery saver. I realize a 4K screen is going to use more battery, but battery life this poor at this price point is unacceptable in my opinion. There also isn't a fast charge option unless the machine is completely off. If you can live with the poor battery life, it's a solid machine.
