I have used the same dryer for two decades. Same with the washer. My dryer went out first though and it was time. I wanted a new one. But my washer still works quite well and I could only really afford the dryer now anyway.., so I just bought the dryer for now. But now having and using it for a bit, I intend to get the washer too, soon. I LOVE LG ThinQ products. I have ThinQ all over and love the app for controlling things from my phone. It’s just fun! Now, as for the nitty gritty of this dryer. I’ve added pictures of the control panel and it’s door opening differences (top & side opening). This is because I couldn’t readily find a close up pic of the control panel when I was trying to figure out what to buy. The knob in the center is not a clicky turn knob like the old style dryers. It’s a free flowing weighted knob allowing for selecting the type of load. Then, that will load your basic functions on the right. Like average time and heat level for your kind of load. Then you make changes or feature additions, by choosing the buttons on the right, for additions or changes. Like adding or removing the end of cycle chime, or any of the multitude of other awesome functions. I find I use antibacterial and wrinkle guard functions the most. This dryer is sturdy, highly functional and efficient. I just love the little song it plays when the cycle finishes. It’s quite large and fast. I love the sensor dry and antibacterial functions especially for the kids and grandkids as they’re not as conscious of messy situations and always seem to gravitate towards them. In fact, one is a carrier of Staph. So the added antibacterial feature is a huge plus. I especially recommend this dryer for any family with a newborn baby, young toddlers or elderly reside, where incontinence may be an issue, The antibacterial function will certainly aid in your peace of mind. I’m aware of antibacterial products that can be purchased and added to the rinse cycle of the wash cycle. However, they can be harsh on certain allergic or sensitive people. This function eliminates that problem. The wrinkle guard feature is just genius! I love NOT having wrinkles when I’m sidetracked and can’t get the load out, hung up & folded right away. I didn’t get the steam function as we don’t have many clothes that really wrinkle, too much, requiring pressing or ironing. Plus, the wrinkle guard works to eliminate that nuisance anyway. Plus, I have a steamer and iron, should something need wrinkles removed. The piece de resistance has to be the door that opens, both, from the top, and/or either side (with an adjustment). It opens two ways. From the top, halfway, for loading and/or removing clothes. Also, from a side, fully open. There is an adjustment you can do to change which side the door opens from. It will arrive opening from left to right. But there are full instructions with the unit, on paper, and a video available, to show you, exactly step by step, how to reverse the side from which it opens. The door opening, antibacterial and wrinkle guard functions made this dryer a “must have” for me. I truly just love this dryer. Even the lint trap is ultra easy to get to, and very easy to quickly clean with each load, in order to assure optimal and consistent efficiency. I’m still learning all of the functions and how to most efficiently use & program my personal load functions with the unit. It didn’t come with the standard owner instruction manual on how to program loads, set controls or even how to use it. So I need to download a manual from somewhere online to find out how to program everything. But I guess that’s just how appliances are sold now. No worry though because I’m always online for something. I have to say, Best Buy is wonderful with delivery, installation and haul away. Everything was handled and the unit was promptly installed. I especially liked how Best Buy’s website told me exactly what installation components I’d need to buy to assure an easy and speedy installation. The delivery and installation team was efficient, clean and respectful. Coincidentally, I gave excellent rating on all counts except for value. First because I’ve had to do too much hunting for operating instructions. Also because I felt it was a bit pricy. But that’s not exclusively LG’s or Best Buy’s fault. I’m beginning to think everything I price has overinflated pricing. My final say is, “Yes. I’m very happy with this dryer and I highly recommend this one.”

Worthy Upgrade to a 5+ year old Dryer

Outside of having some issue with connecting the dryer to the LG Home app, I don't really have anything bad to say about this dryer. A full load on eco settings completely dryes in 57 minutes. Something our old dryer took 70+ minutes to do on max settings. It's relatively quiet, the settings are easy to use, and it plays a cute little jingle when it's done. After a month of use multiple times a week, we notice significant savings on our electric bill. If you have a old washer and dryer, I would say this series is worth the upgrade. We got what we wanted out of this purchase 100%.

Average Performer at a Premium Price

We purchased this dryer (DLE7300WE) at the same time as our LG washer (WT7305CW). Here are few noticeable good points and negative points about this dryer. The gist of this review is the LG dryer, even on sale, is an over priced average performer. What’s good is the dryer has a large capacity drum; the two position glass door is a very useful feature along with the LED drum light. The dryer features WiFi which notifies you when a cycle has ended. The dryer also can be paired to a compatible LG washer and automatically create dryer settings depending on the washer setting for quick use. Like all dryers we have owned over the last 25 year it was easy to install and move around. The button and end of cycle signals can be turned off. What’s not good is the dryer is over priced even on sale at $699. The dryer case is thin metal not enamel and is easily dented especially the top area. We spent an additional $100 for this model for the glass dual position door with drum light. The problem with the light is it is not automatic, the dryer must be powered on by pressing the power button AND then the drum light button on the control panel to activate the light. The light will activate at the end of a dryer cycle but only for a short period of time, not long enough to empty the dryer. What is the point of the light if you can’t simple open the dryer door to activate the light? Our biggest gripe with this LG Dryer is performance. It does not dry large loads, especially bulky loads, like blankets/comforters very well. Our last two dryers (1983 Hotpoint and 2005 GE) performed much better than this dryer. This LG must run longer, much longer, to completely dry large loads. We would not have purchased this dryer had we not purchased a LG top loading washer.

After 2 dryers stopped drying within the same year, I knew that the 3rd dryer would have to be sturdy and special. I did my research and settled on this set. Not only is it beautiful, but it works soooo good. My 2 teenagers & I are in love. We are shocked that we only have to dry a load once, even a full load of big towels!

Great customer service and beautiful Washer and Dryer. I love them. They are smart, efficient and quiet. They have so many functions, that I am still learning how to set it up. It’s fun. My sales person was amazing and knew exactly what I needed when. I described to him what I was looking for. I just bought a house and this is my first time buying my own W/D. I love that the dryer opens two ways and that it senses how long it needs to dry. The washer knows exactly how long to wash based on the size of the load. It’s awesome. It’s fast and doesn’t waste energy. My first set did come scratched from the warehouse, but Best Buy came and switched them out right away.

We only had 30inches deep space for our dryer and did not have many options! I am so glad we went with one, it fit perfectly! Just make sure you buy the flexible duct if you are concerned about the space! Variety of cycles, smart features, and size are the pros and have no cons so far. The door opens 2 ways!

Love this set. They didn't have the dryer in stock so I couldn't see it before I purchased it and it was delivered. The sales rep told me the dryer door opens 2 different ways and honestly, I was not impressed by that and thought it was just one of those things that wouldn't matter to me. Well, now that I have it I am surprised at how that one feature has made me love this dryer. You ooen it top down to load the wet clothes from the washer and open it from the side to remove dry clothes. Such a small thing but I kove it. I also love that it sends me text messages when my clothes are ready to come out. Not sure why but this makes me go get them right away instead of leaving them in the dryer and having to fluff them however many times. I highly recommend this dryer.

We just moved into brand new home and after much research, we chose LG Washer and Dryer. This 7.3 Cu. Ft. 9 cycle electric dryer is beautifully finished and dries very efficiently. Actually coming from a major competitor (made in the same country) dryer, this is much more efficient and does a much better job than their biggest competitor. It's High Efficiency Sensor drying and it's great. LG uses SmartThinQ™ technology that allows you to manage your laundry remotely and with the flexible LG EasyLoad™ door that opens two ways for easy loading and unloading. All in all, the LG Electric Dryer is a great laundry appliance!

So my oldest one was with buttons and no digital like this. I always have the problem when trying to operate that is you have to press your finger with very little pressure. The best thing they did with this dryer is that opens sideways and forward!!!! THATS amazing!!! Easy Load!

This dryer does a great job of drying clothes, and the wrinkle prevent actually works well. My only complaint is with the dryness sensor: the clothes on Normal come out still a little bit damp for my tastes. i just need to remember to change it to More Dry to get the clothes to my liking. This really is a small thing.

I was forced to buy a new washer & dryer when I moved to a new house. I left behind a similar Samsung washer so I am now able to compare the two brands. After three weeks of use, I can honestly say the LG is the better machine. I'm not sure if my clothes are any cleaner with the LG, but I do appreciate that the cycle times are less. Example, a typical load of darks is 41 minutes on the LG vs' 59 minutes on the Samsung. The "Normal' cycle will typically use warm water. I like the fact I am able to adjust the temp and change it to luke warm if I so desire. The washer / dryer has a lot of setting that I have not experimented with just yet. Overall, I am very pleased with the LG units.
