First off, I have been a live sound engineer for nearly forty years so I know a thing or two about how things should sound. I bought this system for my wife to put in a back room of the house that she hangs out in. For the price, the look, and the feel, I didn't expect much. I was quite pleasantly surprised. The sound of this unit is amazing for what it is. It is powerful enough to rock the whole back part of the house with clean, clear sound with more volume than I thought it would deliver. I've seen other reviews that complained about the length of the speaker wires. Not a problem, I simply bought some 18ga. lamp wire and extended them. I'm not crazy about the look of the unit but I didn't buy it for looks. The one thing I do dislike about it is the lack of e.q. control. (Bass and Treble) The presets leave some to be desired but we were able to find one that sounded clear with sufficient bottom end from the sub-woofer. Overall, for the money, this is a lot of stereo system. You aren't going to DJ a party with it but it has enough power to get the police called if you annoy the neighbors by turning it up too loud.

There are obviously MUCH better systems out there but I needed to keep this a cheap purchase. I did a lot of online research on multiple sites for this and the Sony 700w system. They both had a lot of good reviews and both had a few negative reviews. I couldn't decide based on this so I went into the store to listen to them. The LG sounded a lot louder and the sound was more full. It's also worth mentioning that the interface of the Sony one was extremely slow. I could tell there's a good chance it would have ended up frustrating me on a daily basis. Bluetooth was super easy on the LG and for some reason it was very difficult to connect to the Sony. After all of this I went with the LG. This system looks and feels kind of cheap, the speaker wires are short and thin, I can't tweak the audio options/EQ the way I would like, but overall it really does sound pretty decent. I expected those shortcomings for the price so it is what it is. With all that being said, the most important thing is the sound which is actually pretty good for the price and it gets very loud.

I was looking to replace my bookshelf home audio system. I went to BestBuy store and spent a good 30-45 mins with the sales person listening to all the systems they have. We tried streaming both our mobile devices and also plugged them in via aux cable. We tried all types of music to make sure that the system had the full deep bass I was looking for as well as clean highs. I needed the music to fill my house, I needed bluetooth as I like to stream music and a remote! This system was THE best and could not believe it was less expensive than other well known brands which did not sound even fractionally as good as the LG. I love it and know I made the best decision.

I LOVE MUSIC! Unfortunately, I have had a history of shelf systems failing on me in the past, most frequently rejecting to play my CDs or having a speaker go out on me. For the last two months, I have had very few issues with this new shelf system. First, the positives. There a great many features that I love to use. The CD player plays CD-Rs, which I frequently like to play as my own "mix tapes." The bass is terrific on the sub-woofer. I even like to connect it to my television to get a bass boost when I am watching an action movie or playing a video game. It also great to be able to effortlessly connect my cell phone to the stereo via Bluetooth and kick out the jams with the music stored on my device. Now for the negatives, of which there are only two so far. The unit is very large, so size could be a factor for those who have limited shelf space. Also, there is no headphone jack, not even a wireless one. Whenever someone else is watching TV, I have to switch to an alternate player so that I can enjoy my music via headphones. Overall, a good system. I am enjoying it very much. ROCK ON!

This stereo systems is exactly what I want. It has a great breakdown of sound in which I can spread the 2 speakers apart 6 ft. and sit back and get that incredible separation of sound and it also included a third speaker, a base speaker in which I put next to my left speaker. The sound is so great I swear there is a middle speaker from the sound spread!!!! I really like playing cd's and the radio system picks up a lot of channels. Well worth the price and better than some systems twice the price that I've looked at. I actually like the break down of sound better than my sound bar because of spreading the speakers out!!! Don't leave the store with out it!!!!!!!

A bit larger than expected, but for the power pushing out, it's acceptable. Not exceptional quality, but sufficient. Not going to get Klipsch or Polk quality sound for this price. That said, the bass is strong and resonant, the mids and highs crisp and clear. There's not an internal, customizable equalizer and there's about 10 presets that seem to work okay. I pushed everything from AC/DC to Zappa through for a test and I'm pleased with the overall sound quality and volume - with little distortion. I believe a longer speaker cable is in order unless you like everything on a singe 8 foot table. This system will do me quite well for the party intended and for years in the house thereafter.

I got this Lg - 700w Mini Shelf System in black and red for my husbands shop. He is able to listen to his favorite music with this. which features a tray-loading CD player, a 2-way front speaker system and a 7 subwoofer for dynamic sound. A Bluetooth interface lets you pair with select devices including his ipad and phones. It is really loud too louder than i actually thought it would be. It has multi functions too which was really good thia is compared to the others that best buy carries and this was the best one we have seen to date with the prices and quality

Good power works great in the garage! Good bluetooth sound quality, up high on my shelves in the garage. So the remote is a must in my case. Quality remote and I'm sure the neighbors down the road can hear me loud and clear. Best bang for the buck stereo system with bluetooth and two usb ports which I thought was neat. This one comes with the subwoofer and 700 watts. Nit to be confused with the one walmart has which is 100 dollars but no sub and like 100 watts. This unit from best buy is a great buy

For a shelf stereo this LG - 700W Mini Shelf System is pretty amazing. I'm an old school audiophile and I bought this knowing it's not a high end tuner, amp and speakers, already had my share of those. Just wanted something compact with awesome sound. This absolutely rattles the windows and even with them closed my neighbor across the street can hear my music. I attached our television to the AUX and the sound is much more clear and entertaining. Pairing BT is super easy and fast. Found the LG on my iPad BT list, tapped it and 1 second later it was connected. Music I was able to get this with $50 off plus an additional $10 off BB reward. If you don't care for high end audio this is a must have. You won't be disappointed.

Nice little unit. I'm using it in my garage attached to some Polk Audio speakers. It puts out great volume and sounds great. I wish it just had an option for a bass and treble adjustment, not preset equalizer settings. However, the watt claim is not to be taken serious. It is 700 watts total into 3 ohms at 20% distortion. I had to dig a little to find that. However, it is still a nice unit and worth the money.

This system is truly worth the money it's being sold for sounds great bass is terrific but if you want to listen to AM stations you can't because it's FM only which is fine for me because I don't listen to AM it Bluetooth off my phone perfect with no problem, it does have some size to it which Iike you won't be disappointed.

When shopping for this shelf stereo unit. I admit I was determined to only buy a Sony product. I had a very difficult time finding a Sony product in the price range I was willing to pay. Most stores where out of stock. I needed two stereos for Christmas gifts. I stumbled upon this LG by shear chance. I read reviews online. And went to my local Best Buy to check them out. I ended up purchasing two of these for gifts. The two young men I purchased them for absolutely love them. These stereos have a descent amount of bass. Tons of pre-set equalizer settings. And the volume gets pretty loud before it distorts. They both love the bluetooth feature to play music from their cell phones. The build quality is very good and the stereo has a very modern look. I am very impressed with them, so are the two I bought them for. And I got them on sale at a very good price on Black Friday!

LG CM4550 produces loud and clear sound. In my opinion, it could use more base. Setup is simple, connect speakers and the system is ready to go. If it comes to connections, it has one aux and up to four Bluetooth devices. It has build in CD and FM Radio. This is a powerful system.

Sound quality is excellent. The volume gets really loud. Easy connect to Bluetooth and my LG tv. I wanted something loud and good quality but didn't want to spend a whole lot of money. Way better than the Sony version I may by another ones soon

Awesome sound and amazing bass for such a small system, very pleased. Only thing is wish the speaker wires weren't connected to the speakers so you could use longer speaker wires

Purchased this to connect to my projector, but enjoy having it connected to the tv in my office better (I'll share eventually, I'm sure). Love the bluetooth and flash drive options, the sound, the size, the .... everything. I would definitely purchase this again!

Truly loud, truly bombastic sound. Great BLUETOOTH audio streaming (No cut outs...spotless streaming) Quite impressed. It is however a BEAST. The only thing I wish it did have a few more settings to play with the EQ. Lots of presets but all a little too much on the bass side. What I did was swapped out the speakers (L-R only) with a pair of bookshelf Boston Acoustics speakers and wow.....nailed it. Used in garage for housework, etc, etc. Fun shelf system.

Great shelf system. Good bass and crisp sound. The Bluetooth feature for me makes this purchase a no brainer. Pretty compact for something with that much power well worth the $ I paid for it.

It's a great shelf system for the price. Great sound quality and turns up very loud. Only complaint is that it doesn't have an adjustable equalizer, only a few preprogrammed values. Other than that it's nearly perfect for what I need. Easy to set up and use.

This stereo has a great sound nearly as good as real wooden cabinet stereos with lots of tech features such as CD, Bluetooth, USB connectivitiy as well as recording to a second USB, clock, sleep timer and much more. It is perfect for my bedroom or any room and can be tied into TV, and other equipment too. Easy to put together, remote control too and it looks sharp. A bargain system by a name you can trust LG.
