A little pricey but all around a great headset. The LG Tone & Talk app is needed for great sound quality but the app is free.

Let me start with the midrange audio quality is good making these wire-free in-ear Bluetooth buds fine for listening to a phone conversation. Let it be noted, however, that calls are NOT in stereo--only the left ear works for phone calls. Users reported they could hear me, but they also said it was obvious I was on a hands free device. As for music, which is my primary concern when using earbuds, there is little depth to the sound and the max volume level is lacking. If you shove the bud deep in your ear you get some bass, but keeping them seated in the ear canal can be a challenge. Volume can only be controlled by your paired device (i.e. phone), there is no onboard volume control on these earbuds. Because the earbud is basically also one big button, I find myself inadvertently clicking the button when readjusting the buds in my ear. If you sweat, these are not the buds for you. I had them unboxed for less than 30 minutes and lost one gardening. It slipped out without warning. (Eventually I found it and decided to pocket both so as not to lose them again.) Now I find myself pushing them back in every 5 minutes. I was getting frequent disconnects while moving. I was streaming music via wifi (full signal strength) with the phone in my pocket. Moving up and down while gardening the music kept cutting out like a short in a pair of wired headphones. Sitting at the office with the phone on my desk the buds and the random disconnects disappear. 3 hour battery life is unimpressive, and I am not sure what they mean by 7.2hrs in neckband because you can't have the buds in your ear and in the neckband at the same time. If you lose the left ear (master) you done. The right ear won't work without the left...but the left will work without the right. As for the app, I hate needing an app to make a device work. The app basically shows the battery life on each ear, gives you an "EQ" that is nothing more than 3 choices: "BASS, NORMAL, TREBLE," and lets you turn off/on various notification settings. The "owners manual" is also on the app letting you know that a 2-second press activates voice dialing and a double-press skips to next song. I am unimpressed.

I received these for free for my honest review. I must say I was excited to try the in-ear Bluetooth style cordless headphones as I had not owned any. So right away I noticed the volume did not go high enough for me. Now I did notice that you can improve this slightly by downloading the Tone and Talk app. And turn up the volume on the EQ. Also turn on the bass feature. Here you can increase the volume a bit. Sound quality for music is not good. I am a bit of an audiophile, so I was pretty disappointed. No bass. Now if you are not an audiophile, you might be fine with them for communications, listening to talk radio , watch video's etc. I do like the announcements you here when a message comes in on your phone, for instance, if someone posts a Facebook message you will hear it through your ear bud. The neckband works well as storage for the ear buds as they simply click into each end and they will charge them as well. Battery life is not impressive, only about three hours. I was also disappointed that you do not get stereo sound during a call, only the left ear bud receives the incoming audio. Not huge, just would be nice in louder area’s to hear a bit better. Here are my pros and cons: PROS: Pretty comfortable fit Light Voice memo feature Audible announcements Neckband storage and charging Voice Command (easily answers or rejects calls) CONS: Sound Quality Battery Life No Volume control on ear bud or neckband Bottom Line: If I paid for these I would return them for something better. At this cost I expected much better sound, battery life etc.

I was really excited to receive the LG Wireless In-Ear Headphones and couldn't wait to give them a try. Being an active person and tired of my headphone cords getting caught up when I garden, or when I'm out and about on one of my daily walks, I was happy that these headphones entered the market. These headphones are wonderful since they connect via Bluetooth to my phone (IPhone 7 plus) and don't get in the way while I'm being active. There are no wires that are connected to your earbuds, meaning that you have total freedom. Sweet! I had no problem pairing these with my iPhone. I just opened the settings in my phone and selected the product name. Everything else was automatic as far as the pairing procedure was concerned. I am a huge music fan and the sound on these headphones is awesome. They are definitely better than the headphones and earbuds that I currently own (and I own around 6 different pairs). They have more bass as well as depth in general. These headphones will unlock all of the subtleties of your music. These headphones stayed in my ears very well. They are very comfortable to wear and felt great. Battery life is advertised around 3 hours with earbuds detached from the neckband, which I believe to be a good amount of music playing time. Here is one of the really great thing about this product. Once your earbuds are depleted of their battery life, you can charge them without plugging them into a wall socket! All you have to do is place your earbuds back into the neckband and they start to charge. It's like have an extra (external power supply) with you especially if you are away from your home. I do find it a little strange that when on a call, the left earbud is the only one that works while engaged during the call as was indicated in the operating instructions. To compensate for one earbud, I did have to raise the volume a bit. Also while on a calls, I did ask the other parties if they heard me ok, to which everyone said yes. The receiving parties did not complain or experience any "trashcan" or "echoes" on their side. I do recommend that you download the Tone & Talk application especially if you plan to use this product with your phone, as you will have the opportunity to adjust the equalizer settings with more/less bass, more/less treble, or back to normal settings. You can also add more overall volume to your earbuds with this application. I did find it a little annoying, that when adjusting the equalizer from setting to setting, that you hear a "tone" during each operation. Other than that, the application is definitely worth the download. Overall, a great pair of headphones! Another winning product from LG! Buy 'em.

Seeing the Tone FREE earphones I was very intrigued by the design. But ultimately would the sound and function match? After opening the packing, I noticed the earphones would be charging with a simple included USB micro cable. LG includes multiple sized ear cushions for different people. Getting a good seal is key on this type of earphone. Not much else in the box besides the two wireless pods and the neck ring battery pack. Putting it all together was easy. Snap the pods in the charging neck ring. Plug in via micro USB and wait until the light changes color. These headphones are wireless via Bluetooth and I had no issues pairing it with my iPhone. Seems like pairing is relatively easy these days for most devices. Now for the function. As others have mentioned, the left pod is the brains and during phone calls strangely, this is the only side producing sound. I found the sound to be OK during music playback but not really up to par to other wireless offerings in the price range. I tried all the different sized ear cups but I felt I never could get a perfect seal. The function buttons on the pods felt clumsy. There is only one per pod. Except play/pause and answer/hangup they didn't do much else. I was always afraid the pods would fall out when I pressed the buttons. Battery life at 2-3 hours is pretty low. You'll be charging these after every use and on a trip you might run out of power mid flight. You will be able to charge by using the neck ring. So there is hope you could be up and running again without a power plug to slow you down. Definitely the high point of this device. Keeping everything together means bringing the neck ring with you. It's not required for playback but probably a good idea for charging. Ultimately, I didn't love wearing the ring around my neck for workouts. It felt a bit awkward. Headphone purchases are very individualized. These did not work out great to me but might work well for your use case.
