From the moment I unboxed the LG UltraGear OLED gaming monitor, it elevated my gaming and multimedia experiences into a whole new realm. The OLED panel delivers deep, inky blacks and vibrant colors that genuinely bring every scene to life—whether it’s a dark, atmospheric RPG or a fast-paced edge-of-your-seat shooter. The ultra-smooth 240 Hz refresh rate (with response times as low as 0.03 ms) ensures razor-sharp motion clarity and ultra-responsive gameplay. HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1 support made it a breeze to switch between my PC and console setups with no fuss at all

Decided to spend the money and get the best super-wide, tall & curved screen monitor we could find.  Wanted awesome resolution, vivid colors and fast response.  A single monitor, not the dual or triple screen desk chaos.  Which led us to this LG UltraGear 45" OLED gaming monitor (Dual Mode (5K2K WUHD 165Hz, WFHD 330Hz) 0.03ms G-Sync/FreeSync Premium Pro).  Being that we are not gamers, but rather email, spreadsheet and internet users, we were a bit hesitant about feature overkill. But pulled the trigger anyway & bought the monitor.  Took two of us old people (my wife & I) to carry in the house and safely set it up.  Finally settled on using the DisplayPort cable.  Hooked it to our docking station.  Fired up our new Lenovo - Yoga Pro 9i 16" Laptop (2.8K OLED Touchscreen Laptop - Intel Core Ultra 9 Processor - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 - 32GB RAM-1TB). And Wow!  Completely blown away, no regrets.  Took some experimentation of find the best combination of settings for us.  We are probably using a fraction of the monitor's capability but are totally happy.  We can have multiple sessions open without any overlap.  And can quickly & easily increase the font for readability.  And the more extreme curvature is no big deal.  In fact, we like it. Hooked up our stereo speakers.  Sounded excellent, but a rat's nest of wires.  Tried the laptop's speakers and they were actually a very close second.  And the speakers on the monitor were pretty good too.  So far, the only complaint (hence the 4-star rating) is the resolution of the graphics card on the laptop.  It's not quite powerful enough at its highest setting to fill the entire screen.  There is a 2-inch black space on the left & right sides of the screen.  If we dumb down the resolution it does fill the entire screen (top, bottom, sides), but with slightly less clarity.  Hoping NVIDIA will eventually have a driver to resolve this. 3440x1440 is the highest laptop resolution, fills screen left & right, but black spaces on top & bottom. 3200x2000 is the next one down, fills screen top & bottom, but black spaces on left & right. 5120x2160 is what LG recommends.

I love it, it is my first OLED, but it is phenomenal and the text clarity isn't a problem! I use this work and productivity, as well as video games The colors, refresh rate, and response time are great! The curve was initially a little overwhelming, but after 1-2 sessions it feels great! I couldn't imagine going back to my old monitor.

Marvel of Engineering - WELL WORTH IT !!!!

Workflow is easier and much faster due to better screen real estate management at 21:9 making work more fun and productive. A quality GPU is required to run this monitor, which I have set at native 5K2K 165Hz, which makes this monitor easy on the eyes and everything is so fluid. Importantly, LG went wide and kept the height where other ultra wide monitors reduce height. The height of this monitor is very close to a 40" 16:9 SmartTV, which is what I had before. I simply needed 21:9 ratio and now it seems I have a dual monitor setup for when my work demands it. I was skeptical of the 800R and wasn't sure if I would like it... I love it !!! The 800R is well designed and is perfect for this monitor and the fonts, webpages, and applications displayed are nothing short of brilliant. This is my desktop monitor and I sit close and feel immersed in everything. I use for my work and I do not engage in any game play but I hear it is amazing in that arena as well and was designed for full game immersion. For others that need to know if this investment is worth it for work, I say absolutely YES and the move from my 40" QLED Smart TV to this monitor is day and night difference for work. I never thought a monitor would make such a difference until I got the right one being a great marvel of engineering.

I don’t know normally leave reviews, but this monitor calls for it. Easily the most expensive screen I’ve ever used and it shows. The additional height on the monitor is fantastic, and I was genuinely overwhelmed during the first couple days of use. It fills up your entire field of vision and the colors/ resolution is sublime. The monitor controls are also easy to understand and the oled screen is of course important for the black level. While it is expensive I don’t think I can ever go back to a standard monitor. I’d buy this over the Odyssey any day of the week.

    Takes Getting Used To

When I saw the monitor in store, I knew I needed it. I’m not the type of person with the best of the best, or a top of the line rig - I wanted the immersion. It will take getting used to this monitor, the curve is aggressive. The matte finish isn’t my favorite and it not true DP 2.1, but there is nothing else on the market like it. After playing with settings I got the colors looks vibrant, rivaling my previous QD-OLED. There are some cons, and I know many will say 2K for a monitor without it all is crazy, but then I look at a 32in monitor for 1-1200, and think about all I would lose going back to 16:9, makes it a no brainer. Here’s the thing, no computer right now can comfortably max it out, but if you’re like me and mainly play single player games, where you don’t need the highest fps, you’ll be fine. And if you occasionally play a competitive shooter, swap to 1080p. The monitor is incredibly versatile! My reason for 4/5 is because it took a week to get used to. It gave me headache and nausea, I had to force myself to play games, but I’ve gotten used to it now.

True 4K Clarity and Clean Design

I recently upgraded to this LG UltraGear 45" OLED, and it has completely redefined my setup. As someone who values a "functional command center" approach to my workspace, I needed something that performed well but also kept my desk looking deliberate and organized. Visuals & Resolution: The jump to OLED is massive. The "inky" blacks are incredible. When a scene is supposed to be dark, it is genuinely black, not washed-out gray. But the real game-changer here is the resolution. Unlike most ultrawides that stick to 1440p, this is a "True 4K" (5K2K) experience. You get that immersive ultrawide width without sacrificing the vertical pixel density, making text crisp for work and open-world games look absolutely stunning. Design & Cable Management: One of my favorite underrated features is the stand design. As you can see in my photo, the back of the stand allows you to channel your cables directly through the center column. It keeps the power and display cables tight and hidden, preventing that "spaghetti" mess behind the monitor. It fits perfectly with a clean, wire-free desk aesthetic. Verdict: If you are a solo gamer looking for deep immersion or just need a high-res workspace that doesn't compromise on picture quality, this is the one to get. It’s an investment, but the visual fidelity and build quality are worth the premium.

Excellent 5K2K Oled Monitor. I had previous 1440p Oled LG 45” monitor and decided to upgrade to this one and its absolutely awesome. Great picture quality and works great with my 5090 FE. I also used a monitor arm for my setup, but the inciuded mount is also great and well made. I am also using the provided displayport cable and its working fine.

The image detail on this monitor is outstanding—sharp, vibrant, and perfect for creative or professional work. The picture-in-picture feature is incredibly useful for multitasking, and the high refresh rate makes everything feel smooth and responsive. While the 800R curve is quite aggressive, the height of the display helps minimize distortion, making it a lot more comfortable to use than I expected. Overall, the quality and features easily justify the price.

I saw many folks saying 800R is to aggressive, which is not my case, 800R is the main reason for this purchase. Some may say a LG G5 TV is a better option at this price range, but I prefer no to torture myself using a flat screen with lower PPI. One thing I absolutely disappointed is the styling and attention to detail. I want an ultra thin look monitor like the last gen and Studio Display quality I/O interface. I wish someday, LG can make a 45inch monitor with over 214 ppi&400nits&800R&OLED. That will be my ultimate end game monitor. Another thing I wish that LG could do in the future is sell the base separately, all my monitor base is just collecting dust. If you are considering this monitor, you don’t need any recommendations, this is the no competitor in the market today. I want to share a few tips: 1. There is no build in KVM, and there is no KVM that support 5K165HZ, so this what I do, I bought a Hotkey usb switch for keyboard and mouse, for the monitor, I map the monitor switch switch to the same hotkey. So one click in less that one second switch between win and Mac. 2. The PSU is HUGE, I attended an image of how I cable managed it underdesk

Really not much to say other than the fact that this monitor is absolutely stunning. I actyally prefer the matte coating and it’s one of the best matte coatings I’ve seen. The colors are fantastic and at 5k games look ridiculously good. It genuinely is jaw dropping.

Absolutely incredible image. That's why we buy LG though. I did sit it right next to the exact same monitor in the 4K version and you can tell anybody that says you can't tell the difference between 4K and 5K just doesn't have enough money... If you want basically the best gaming motor on the planet by this the curves a little bit different than the 4K version so that's infuriating. But overall high quality monitor. I do believe you will need a 50 series graphics card with a 2.1 DisplayPort cable to run this though

Beautiful monitor. I’ve been looking for a monitor that can do a little of everything and this is widescreen 4k and can be turned into a 16/9 4k 37 inch monitor if the game doesn’t support wide screen with black bars on the side. It can be a little difficult to run the 5k/2k or ultra wide 4k resolution at high frame rates and I have a 4090. The monitor feels very good quality with the metal stand. Audio is also terrible so I don’t even see why they bothered including built in audio. I do think it could be better tho if the screen was glossy which is why I’m going with 4/5.

I recently upgraded from my LG UltraGear 39-inch OLED monitor to the new LG 5K2K UltraGear OLED, and the difference is nothing short of stunning. From the moment I powered it on, I could tell this was a serious leap forward. Gaming has never looked better—every title I play now feels more immersive, fluid, and visually rich. The higher resolution takes full advantage of my RTX graphics card, delivering crisp detail and vibrant colors that truly elevate the experience. But it’s not just about gaming. Productivity has also seen a noticeable boost. The increased screen real estate and pixel density make multitasking a breeze, and text clarity is razor-sharp, which makes long work sessions much easier on the eyes. If you're considering a monitor upgrade, I highly recommend the LG 5K2K UltraGear OLED. It’s a game-changer in every sense.

Had the older one that was 3440x1440 and I loved it. This one being the first real 4k ultrawide was a no-brainer upgrade. Loving it so far. A lot sharper than a 1440p ultrawide. It also came with some nice quality-of-life improvements such as a USB-C port with 90 watt power delivery and DisplayPort so I can plug my MacBook into it very easily with one cable.

Great monitor, but after six months, this weird line appeared on my monitor. It's funny because when the monitor is on, it's 100% perfect. I contacted LG, and they sent a technician to my house. I'll update after the appointment. (Black screen only)

I would give this monitor 4.5 stars if possible, but it is missing just enough to not justify 5 stars. The display is great, and the HDR is excellent. Additionally, the 800R curvature is not as severe at this size as I was expecting it to be. However, this monitor has two problems for me. First, the monitor sits too high on the included stand. The lowest possible setting still leaves the bottom of the chin about 3.5 inches off the desk. This feels just a little too high for my usual setup, but it is not a deal breaker. Second, the 165Hz refresh is simply insufficient for a monitor in this price range. I ran a Samsung Odyssey OLED 4K and an Alienware AW3225QF prior to this monitor, and the drop from 240Hz to 165Hz is significantly more noticeable than I expected. This is really disappointing since there are many esports and older games that top-tier GPUs such as the 4090/5090 are easily capable of pushing at or above the 240Hz level, or even just above 165Hz. I would absolutely buy this monitor again, but I will also be jumping to the newer models as soon as the 2nd-gen, smaller 240Hz models release.

I’ve had my eyes on this big guy for a couple of months but never went for it because I was skeptical of the too many good reviews online… But then, I saw that my local Best Buy had one unit on display. Fast forward to the next day, I decided to stop by and quickly realized that this was all a big mistake. It was a trap!!! Needless to say, I walked out of the store 15 minutes later with a box that forced me to lower my back seats. It has been two weeks since then and I can easily say that this is the best monitor I’ve had in the last 15+ years. The perfect blacks, The sharpness, the brillant colors. Truly immersive. Ridiculous at first on how enormous it is, but you quickly get used to it and there is no going back. This monitor ain’t for peasants!
