When I went to the best buy store in Eagan, MN to pick up My new Bluetooth speaker, I was wondering if I made a good choice going with this LG Speaker. Upon opening the box and lifting the speaker up out of its protective packaging, I was pleasantly surprised by the over all appearance and visual quality. The speaker has a very solid handle to lift it. It has very sturdy construction. It was very easy to set up and adapt it via Bluetooth to my android phone. The sound quality is superb . It is not super loud, but it is loud enough in my opinion. I also own a Sony ULT 7 which is louder, but not really superior in sound quality. For the price and overall quality, I am very satisfied. Enough so that I have purchased a second one so I can pair them together for true stereo sound. I would recommend the speaker for those who enjoy quality over quantity so to speak. And if you want MORE BOOM, PURCASE TWO !

LG has introduced a series of three portable Bluetooth speakers, and the LG xboom Stage 301 is the largest and most versatile of the three. It has so many features, functions, and creative possibilities that it is hard to cover them all in a simple review. It weighs 13.6 lbs., has a 6.6” woofer, two 2.5” midrange drivers, and is powered by 50 watts. The musical sounds it emanates are terrific! Portability is superb, with 11-12 hours of battery life, and the ability to purchase more rechargeable batteries directly from the LG website. A full battery charge takes three hours, and battery life can be monitored on the LG Thinq app, which also allows you to control several other features of the xboom Stage 301. I left it playing from 11:00 am until 10:30 pm, and it still had a little power left. LG specifies that it will run 11 – 12 hours. I have had several Bluetooth speakers, but never one before that paired so quickly and seamlessly as this, which supports 5.3 Bluetooth. With a touch of a button, I was playing all types of music through the speaker from my phone. Music to me is the only universal language, and xboom Stage 301 has many features and functions that can be used to enhance various sources of music. There is an EQ setting, which changes the sound effect, the AI automatic function that adjusts the sound to a specific space, the Reverb, Mic, and Guitar controls. Automatically adjusting the sound to a specific space where listening will occur can maximize all frequencies and fine-tune the sound to the speakers' best harmonious possibility. There is also Party Link by Auracast that allows for linking two similar models for stereo play, and a multimode that enables multiple models to be chained and connected. A feature that adds a touch of interest is the Mood Lighting. It can be set to different lighting patterns and colors. Whether you are playing music using Bluetooth, your guitar, or the USB MP3 player playing music from a USB stick, the lighting program will synchronize with the music. I like the MY button because it allows for saving a specific mood light, type of music, and acts as a favorite button to save particular settings for future play. All control buttons are easily located on the top of the unit, even though the unit can be positioned at several angles or set on a stand with the incorporated stand hole. There are several options for playing music through this marvelous device besides just using it as a Bluetooth speaker. It is equipped with a 3.5mm stereo mini jack, a 1/4” mic which doubles as a guitar jack, and a USB for a flash drive to playback MP3 music. It also has a Karaoke and DJ Mode, which I played with a little, but was most impressed with the sound that came from my voice through the mic and the clarity of the music from my guitar. The karaoke function was interesting because of its AI vocal separation that removes all vocals from recorded music so as not to interfere with the person’s singing voice. When the covers are all closed, the xboom Stage 301 is rated IPX4, which provides some waterproofing and protection from splashing water, making the product very conducive to outdoor use. This is a wonderful product, and I know I will use it to the max with my guitars, karaoke with the family, and just as a great portable speaker. I would give it six (6) stars if that were an option.

I was looking for quality Bluetooth speaker for listening music, playing guitar and doing karaoke for small parties and got the LG XBOOM Stage 301 Bluetooth Speaker. It came with XBOOM Stage 301 speaker, power cable and manual. Setup is quick and easy. I have downloaded the LG ThinQ app from play store and logged in with my LG account. After logging, i have added the LG Boom Stage 301 speaker to the device and also paired with Bluetooth. There was a software update available and installed the latest version via LG ThinQ app. The speaker is very compact and sleek design and easy to carry around. The build quality is amazing and well thought of a design. The sound quality is where XBOOM Stage 301 shines. The highs are crisp and clear. The mids are clear and pronounced and the bass is deep enough to add the punch to the listening experience. I played many songs from YouTube Music and Spotify and blown away with details came out of this speaker. There are many settings can be adjusted via app like adjusting the volume, turn on / off the light settings, setup the MY button setting, DJ mode and Karaoke mode. I was able to connect the mic and did a test Karaoke and it came out really good with reverb and MR mode. I am using this speaker for playing guitar and it delivers fantastic sound output. On the speaker, there are intuitive touch buttons on top for volume, play/pause, pairing, and mode selection. It supports multi-device pairing and i was able to configure with my phone and laptop for seamless switching. There is no dropouts of Bluetooth connection even 30 feet away from the speaker. Battery life is solid on this speaker. I used this speaker on a outdoor party for more than 11 hours and full charge takes around 3 to 4 hours. XBOOM Stage 301 speaker can be paired another XBOOM Stage 301 speaker to get true stereo sound. It is IPX4 rated which is equipped for water resistant. Lighting can be done with 9 ambient lighting modes. Lighting can be done on the speaker button or via app which provides more control like AI lighting, repeat mode settings. This speaker can be placed upright, tilted back or placed on a tripod stand as well. It has filling sound with a 6.5" woofer and dual 2.5" midrange driver. LG XBOOM Stage 301 is fantastic speaker with amazing build and sound quality.

I have been lugging around my old stage speaker, an aging old cinder block, from one meeting to another. It wasn't a specific brand, but it did get the job done, until it couldn't anymore. So, when I picked up this LG XBOOM Stage Speaker, I was hoping it would replace my old, failing device. And hoo-boy, was I impressed. I have owned a small LG bluetooth speaker for the past four years and when I first heard it, I could immediately tell that it was an excellent product (especially since it was tuned by Marantz). With this in mind, I tried everything I could hook up to the XBOOM Stage 301 to hear what it could do. The box in which the speaker comes in is fairly plain. No colorful, flashy pictures. I thought it made it look more professional. Unboxing was easy as pie. The speaker only comes with a power cable to charge or run while charging. Big positive point already here: internal battery. The initial charge barely took an hour, with successive ones running around 1 to 2 hours depending on how depleted the battery was. After an hour long morning briefing, the battery wasn't even halfway down. In order to access some functions and settings (and to set the speaker up), you will have to download and install the LG ThinQ app. I already had it installed, so all I had to do was to pair the speaker from within the app and after a firmware update, it was ready to go. Next step was to see what I could do with it. Of course, since I use a stage speaker for work, this is what I tried first. I plugged in 2 mics using my wireless receiver which plugs directly into the back of the 301. As soon as I turned it on, it worked immediately and perfectly. Voices are clear and although a tiny bit muffled (not a big deal, really). I tried the karaoke function as well and although I sing like a frog in a metal bucket, the speaker did a great job at handling 2 different inputs - there are 2 knobs, one to adjust the mix and the other applies a reverb effect on the output. Fun night, but I'm fairly certain I'm going to get a noise complaint from my neighbors. Next up was the bluetooth which is rock solid. It worked with: Android phone, Android tablets, Windows PC, a projector and an old MP3 player I found in one of my drawers. The newer the device you pair to the XBOOM, the better, as it runs on the most recent BT 5.x version while being backwards compatible. I also decided to hook up my electric guitar and use the speaker as an amplifier, which worked quite well. Last but not least, I connected it to an electronic drumset and it was amazing for that purpose. Way, way better than the nasty speaker that was hooked up to it so far. As you can tell by now, this is one of the most versatile stage speakers I've ever owned. As for the quality of the sound, using the AI EQ setting will probably be your go-to, as it adjusts to the input to render the audio the best way possible. I found myself using the EQ on Bass Boost a lot as well, to make up for some lost frequencies. But as an all-rounder, it has a great sound and it can be very loud. It's not very heavy either, which makes it really easy to carry around. To be completely honest, I was unable to find anything to complain about, instead, I kept getting one positive surprise after another. I really can't do more but to recommend the LG XBOOM Stage 301. It's an excellent speaker for many different scenarios. Buy it!

Very nice compact amp/speaker/music player.. This device packs a punch and has lots of settings and options. Good job Wll I Am in the design. Setup was super simple. I downloaded the LG app on Google play. Followed the step by step process and I was in. App use was really easy to use. From mic use to guitar use to music play back on the phone or via USB stick. Sound quality is really good. Bass is really strong. LED lights and affects are really nice and can be controlled via app. App even comes with access to meditation songs for relaxation. LG did a good job to revamp their app to use. Good job LG Engineers. Options to put it on the ground with angled or mount to a stand. Battery life is good too. This speaker packs in big sound and lots of options. I wished it would take both a guitar and a mic. But it only does one or the other. Not sure if any speaker can take 2 inputs like that. Anyway as advertised this is a great speaker. Portable, booms, guitar/mic input, wireless, battery, small.

    Excellent BT Speaker / guitar.amp.i.am.not

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

BACKGROUND: I was intrigued with LG’s newly released group of XBOOM Bluetooth (BT) speakers, especially the Stage 301 with a dedicated input for either a guitar or a microphone. Playing guitar since I was 15 years old (now 74), over the many years I have had the opportunity to own and use a multitude of both guitars and amplifiers. My expectation for this device is to own a killer sounding BT speaker, coupled with the ability to use it as a guitar amp if/when needed. OVERVIEW: Once I received the Stage 301, unboxed, charged up, downloaded the application, updated the firmware, completed entering personal information, it was time for my “hands on” demo. I must say.i.am overall impressed with the Stage 301’s capacity to provide an excellent musical sound stage depending on the room size and dynamics. It is loud and clear without distortion in most any room in my home. Recognize it may not provide the most powerful outdoor output for some users, but for reproducing music, it is just fine for my use. Currently, my only negative is the “guitar” use function, or better said, the lack of it. GUITAR INPUT: After tying three electric and one acoustic guitar, I will state that this is not a guitar amp in any fashion. The output is so bass heavy lacking any mid’s or high’s, that most guitarists would consider this a low-end practice bass amp. Also, when you activate the guitar mode, the included reverb is disabled (it’s only an option for the microphone input). Using a guitar while in “microphone” mode helps, plus you gain Reverb, but it still sounds like mud, just a tad louder. The good news is, using the Stage 301 in guitar mode, paired with a multi-effects processor, gets you into the guitar amp ballpark, just not front row seats (still too dark sounding). Utilizing a Valeton GP-200 preamp effects processor, with setting the app’s Custom EQ to -6dB for 100Hz, +4dB 1kHz, and +1dB 10KdB, I was able to cut out the muddiness to acceptable guitar tones. Finally, dialing the lows out through my effects processor seems to do the trick. Now if LG had included a 5 to 10 band EQ for “Guitar Mode” and allowed the included “Reverb” to stay active, then the Stage 301 could be considered a suitable mobile guitar amp. I would believe adding dedicated guitar EQ and Reverb options could be a firmware update away if LG chooses to do so. (Are you listening LG?) MICROPHONE INPUT: OK, here LG is “cooking with gas” with a multitude of special effects for both kids and grownups. My grandsons loved using the mic while toggling through the “Bass, Soprano, Helium, Robot, Duet-Man, and Duet-Woman” options. And I must admit, I found myself bonding with the “Duet-Man” feature that adds harmonies to my lackluster voice. DJ MODE: For all of you fledgling Want-To-Be DJ’s, there are numerous tools at your fingertips. An assortment of Club and Drum sounds are an ICON touch option away. And you can add/record your own users (I believe up to 3) sounds too. Using the Delay, Wah, Phaser, and Flanger tones can alter and add a bit spice to the mix. Finally, there is “Scratch Pad” feature, but it was erratic and most times it would not function until I closed out of the app and then reopened it. Sadly, that rendered the Scratch Pad feature useless while the other DJ options functioned just fine. Hopefully a future firmware update will resolve that issue. LIGHTS: In general, I am not a “light show” person and normally have little use for flashing lights while listening to music after the initial lighting test-drive. That said, at least the dual lighting provided by the Stage 301 is more than respectable for those partygoers who enjoy both listing to music with a touch of pulsating flashing entertainment added to the mix. Using the application, there are nine different motion options and one repeat setting that will cycle through all of nine. Plus, there are four color selections choices. I have demo’ed about a half dozen BT speakers with lighting, and must admit, the LG Stage 301 is at the top of the list for lighting capabilities. LG THINQ: First, yes you can use the Stage 301 without the dedicated LG ThinQ Application for BT pairing playing music. But you will be missing the firmware updates, along with all of the fun associated with the app’s special features. Second, one really useful application feature is being able to remotely (BT connectivity distance limitations) turn ON/OFF the Stage 301. Normally this is only an option with AC power connected, but with this BT speaker, LG has provided the ability for remote ON/OFF under battery power. Note that the Stage 301 will slowly consume battery power if this feature is selected and will disable this feature when only 20% power is remaining. EQ SOUND EFFECT: Included in the application is access to five EQ settings. (You can cycle through the five using the speaker top panel EQ button, but you will not know which one is active…) Settings available are Standard, Bass Boost, Voice Enhance, AI Sound, and Custom. Note that the Custom option will provides access to 3 EQ bands (100Hz, 1KHz, & 10KHz) that you can adjust (plus/minus 6dB) for your personal listening requirements. A 5-band EQ, if not 10-band, would be much more useful, but the included 3 cover your generic Bass, Mid, and Treble control frequencies. I will mention, that cycling through the EQ options will momentarily kill the sound. DESIGN: Overall, I have nothing but positive things to say regarding will.i.am’s wedge design. Being able to tilt back, similar to a stage show monitor speaker, is just brilliant! Having a large built in carrying handle works too. Add in the protective door covers to obtain a IPX4 Water Resistant rating. Plus designing with a removable and user replaceable battery is thinking beyond planned obsolescence. Bravo! RATING: After putting the LG XBOOM Stage 301 through its paces for the past four days, it earned itself a solid 4-Star Rating for a great musical soundstage, party lights, EQ and DJ features. Had LG not advertised a “guitar” option, that does not currently function properly without additional equipment, coupled with the Scratch Pad that would consistently fail to work, it would have been an easy 5-Stars. PS: Great idea to have a handle on the shipping box that prevents the deliver courier from tossing/dropping the shipment on my concrete porch. Reviewing my video door-cam, I was able to watch him gently place this package on my porch. Thank you, LG! .

When I first saw the LG XBoom Stage 301 I thought of my son. He's in college, plays guitar in a band and at house/frat parties, college festivals, things like that, and I thought this might be useful to him. I also play guitar and wanted to test it out first, so I downloaded the LG ThinQ app and added the device. The app asks you a series of questions for customization purposes and overall the initial setup was easy and problem free. Aesthetically, the Stage 301 looks great. Its fairly compact in size weighing in at just over 13 pounds, and I like that it can be tilted back to project sound better than the standard upright stance. I connected my phone via Bluetooth, again no problems with that, and played some songs using Spotify and Youtube. From the overall size of the speaker I wasn't expecting a whole lot, but to my surprise the sound from the Stage 301 was actually pretty great. The base is better than I expected, mids and highs were nice as well. You can use the ThinQ app to adjust the EQ with several different settings (including Base Boost, my favorite) as well as a Custom setting so you can dial it in to your liking. You can also quickly change the EQ using the button on top of the speaker. So nice adjustability and very impressive sound. Next I tested 4 of my guitars through the speaker using the Mic/Guitar jack in the back. You are then supposed to push the GUITAR tact button to use the guitar function. Honestly, the sound through my 3 electric guitars was pretty flat and not very loud, same thing when plugging in my acoustic/electric guitar. But then I noticed that if I turn off the GUITAR function, ie, putting it into Microphone function, the sound is much louder and you can add some reverb as well. To me it sounded way better not using the GUITAR function, especially with my acoustic guitar which sounded great. After testing this out and thinking about it I'm not sure that it would be that useful to my son, that is, its not better than any of the guitar amps he currently has. The only thing it would add is party lights (which are pretty cool, by the way). Just about then my daughter and her friend showed up and I asked her to test out the Stage 301 to see what she thought. I unplugged my guitar cord and plugged in my microphone and asked her to test out some karaoke. They asked me to pull up the "Hamilton" soundtrack on Spotify since the two of them know every word to every song on that soundtrack. Then for literally the next hour and a half the two of them went to town singing and dancing and trading off the microphone. I had so much fun watching how much fun they were having! My daughter took over my phone and using the ThinQ app tested all of the different lighting possibilities. Then they started playing with the DJ mode which has numerous sound effects from record scratching to drum sounds to voice enhancers including Delay/Wah/Phaser/Flanger. You can even create your own samples and save it to the app under the User buttons. It was hilarious watching them play with the DJ Mode. But the fun didn't stop there, next they pulled up the Karaoke mode on the ThinQ app and the laughs kept coming. To use Karaoke mode you have to plug in a microphone to activate it on the app, but once activated and turning on the Vocal Effect Mode there are a multitude of different effects like Robot, Helium, and Bass and the girls (and I) were loving it! So after seeing that performance by my daughter and her friend, I gave the Stage 301 to her. It will get a ton of use by her and her friends. To me its a great party-type speaker because its very portable, its got a ton of functionality, and the sound is fantastic. Its definitely a winner!

LG is a leading manufacturer associated with high end OLED TV's, premium quality appliances, amazing soundbars, & kicking party speakers. Their latest party speaker is the xboom Stage 301 Bluetooth speaker. Weighing a hefty 13.6 lbs, it measures 12.3"W x 12.9" H x 11.1"D. The internal Li-ion battery is detachable: 7.26V / 4,700mA, charges completely in 3 hr. & lasts up to 12 hrs. There is a 1/4" microphone / guitar input for Karaoke / stage performance. There is a USB-A jack onboard & a 1/8" auxiliary input jack for audio. LG - xboom Stage 301 is IPX4 water resistant. A high excursion 6.5" woofer joins 2) 2.5" midrange drivers to punch out amazing bass with sparkling, crystal clear midrange. Voices soar! Multi-Platinum Artist will.i.am tuned the audio in xboom Stage 301 to perfection. The balanced audio is immersive, exposing subtle details without muddiness or distortion. The free LG app includes adaptive technologies that enable you to customize the sound & lighting your way. A super cool feature is how this speaker is shaped. You can sit it to play audio straight ahead, or tilt it back. This is particularly useful as a stage monitor where it sits on the stage, yet it projects sound to the performers. There is even an integrated socket for a speaker stand pole. CONCLUSION: LG - xboom Stage 301 is a stellar party speaker with 9 ambient modes of lighting, a robust handle for easy transport, and sound that will thrill the audience. It earns my highest recommendation.

I was in the market for another all-around portable Bluetooth speaker that I could use in my training sessions and use for general entertainment. The 301 fits the bill perfectly. I like to start off first by saying that the design of it is excellent for moving around and portability. The speaker is lighter than you would expect, and the handle and balance of the speaker makes it very simple to just pick up toss in the car and keep it moving. I did download the app, but it is not necessary to use the speaker, but the app provides lots of fun features like EQ, vocal effects for microphone and karaoke, a DJ mode which is a lot of fun for myself and my kids, and some other things that will will enhance the experience of using the speaker. The app itself is very intuitive, very bright and easy to navigate and use. I had no issues in downloading, setting up and being good to go. Another feature that the app uses is the AI sound configuration. I did notice a difference from using the speaker outdoors to take it in my home. The sound changed based on the configuration. It was slight but enough to notice the difference. Using the speaker for the live instrument usage is great but with a small caveat. I connected up my electric guitar to it and the sound reproduction was fantastic with the ability to go very loud. Being that you can have the speaker upright or you can lean it back to fill the room, you can jam wherever you need to with everybody hearing it. The caveat, is there's only one main 1/4-in plug. So it's either the mic or either the instrument. I'm assuming you could get a a splitter of some sort and use it, but I didn't try it. You get 1/4 in and then you get a small auxiliary that you can plug in. Just something to know if you thought that you could just take it out and plug in a guitar and an amp simultaneously. Not the case. The lighting effects are very eye-catching and definitely enhance the look of the speaker when I'm using it outdoors in my training sessions. It definitely catches eyes. Lastly, the sound of the speaker. Great highs, nice base, clean mids. Sound reproduction is great no matter what type of music that I play. I have no issues here. Plenty of volume with me. Never having to go past half to fill up the space I'm in. And with a tweak of an EQ, you can refine that even more. No complaints when it comes to the sound. If you're looking for a great portable speaker that can fill up the space, provide the sound that you need to entertain, as well as just start a jam session, I would definitely recommend the 301. Due to its form factor and size, it is now my new main speaker to use when I'm out and about training my clients.

The xboom Stage 301 is the ideal speaker. for my family. We normally use a much smaller Bluetooth speaker when we are entertaining. For a while now I have been looking into getting a new/larger Bluetooth speaker. When I came across this new speaker by LG I knew I had to give it a shot and I am so glad I did. <<<<<Sound>>>>> Let’s get the basics out of the way. Sound is clear, bass is punchy, and volume gets very loud. I listen to a wide range of music, and every genre of music I have played on here from country, 80s, hip-hop, R&B, and EDM sounds great on here. <<<<<Build>>>>> The speaker is not small enough to fit in a bag, but still portable. It has a very sturdy handle. I’d say it is about as bulky and close to the weight of a 12 pack of soda. <<<<<Extras>>>>> So, with the sound quality, volume, and over all build/design I was already sold that this was a solid, party speaker. What put it way over the top for me was the extra features that other speakers don’t offer. I am not referring to the lighting, and sound options you get in the app. Those are great features to have, but not what really sets the speaker apart from the competition. The features that stand out for me are the options to connect a guitar, mic, or even a USB filled with your music. My son and father-in-law both play the guitar, and generally play at family get togethers. This little speaker acts like a little amp. You can connect your guitar directly to it and be playing your music from there. You are able to do the same with a mic if your party is trying to do a little karaoke session. If you have a USB with some music stored in it you can connect that too and use the app on your phone to control it. The app does allow you to change lighting and sound settings, but it also allows you to tweak your mic/guitar connection as well as some fun DJ features for any music you are playing. The last feature that I almost forgot to mention is that you can prop this speaker up at an upward angle, or just flat. You also have the option to use a speaker stand. <<<<<Conclucsion>>>>> This speaker is great. The sound is phenomenal, the build/design is also great. It manages to stay pretty portable considering the power in it. If all that wasn’t enough you get all those great feature for your aspiring musician. You get the options to elevate the speaker on a speaker stand. You get connections to connect a mic/guitar to the speaker, the option to connect a USB with music to it, and some fun DJ features to play with in the LG app. This is a great solid Bluetooth speaker that

I want another one lol. I got this speaker for portability but mostly to pair with my projector for movie nights......and I love LG products (TV, Surround Sound). I just recently renovated the FROG into my man cave and added some LG speakers ...i wish I'd gotten this first. The speakers sound amazing but I find myself using the LG XBoom to wacth football games and such in the space. The clarity and bass are perfect and not overwhemling. I can also plug my bass guitar into it for practicing and not worrying about having power. This speaker is a win!!!!

    AI-Powered Speaker That Actually Helps

Looking for a speaker that can handle your backyard BBQ one day and your garage band practice the next? After setting up dozens of audio systems over my career, I've learned that versatility beats raw power nine times out of ten. The LG xboom Stage 301 caught my attention with its unusual wedge design and will.i.am collaboration. Marketing fluff, or something more substantial? I spent 2 weeks putting this $300 speaker through its paces to find out. Right out of the box, the Stage 301 feels purposeful. The wedge shape isn't just for show, you can stand it upright for focused sound or tilt it back to fill a larger space. The built-in handle makes transport easy, though at around 15 pounds, it's not exactly lightweight. Build quality impressed me with its sturdy plastic construction and rubberized base. The top-mounted controls include a satisfying volume knob and dedicated buttons for Bluetooth, power, and Auracast pairing. Setup took all of two minutes, the Bluetooth connection was rock solid across multiple devices with none of the dropout issues I've encountered with cheaper units. Here's where things get interesting. The 6.5-inch woofer paired with dual 2.5-inch midrange drivers (crafted by Peerless) delivers surprisingly balanced sound for a portable speaker. But the real magic happens with the AI sound calibration. I've heard plenty of "smart" audio features that amount to preset EQ curves, and the Stage 301 performs quite well adapting to its audio source. EDM gets punchy bass without muddiness, acoustic tracks reveal detail I missed on other portable speakers, and podcasts come through with crystal-clear vocals. The 12-hour battery life held strong in my testing at moderate volumes, and the replaceable battery design means you're not stuck with a dead speaker in two years. What struck me most was how the Stage 301 handles different environments. I tested it in my garage, backyard, and living room. Each time, the AI calibration adjusted the sound profile noticeably. The IPX4 water resistance came in handy during an unexpected rain shower at a weekend cookout. The speaker kept pumping out tunes without missing a beat. The karaoke and instrument inputs transformed our backyard hangs. Have an impromptu jam sessions with friends is fantastic, and the built-in effects through the LG ThinQ app make jam sessions fun. The Auracast feature let me pair it with another xboom speaker for true stereo separation, though you'll need two units to take advantage of this. Is it perfect? Not quite. Movie watching exposed the Stage 301's main weakness. While music sounds good, dialogue-heavy content lacks the presence you'd get from a dedicated soundbar. The speaker's size and weight make it less portable than ultra-compact options, and the LED light bars, while fun for parties, can't be completely disabled, only dimmed from what I could find. For the price, I'd also love to see a protective cover included. The app works well but requires creating yet another account, which feels unnecessary for basic features. Bottom line: if you need a versatile speaker that excels at music playback, handles outdoor conditions, and doubles as a performance amplifier, the Stage 301 delivers impressive value. The AI sound optimization isn't just marketing speak, it does actually improve the listening experience across different genres and spaces. While it won't replace a dedicated home theater setup or compete with high-end studio monitors, it fills the sweet spot between portable Bluetooth speakers and full PA systems. For anyone juggling multiple audio needs without wanting multiple speakers, this one's worth your consideration. Just don't expect it to be your primary TV speaker, and you'll be thoroughly satisfied.

The Xboom Stage 301 Bluetooth speaker can be set flat on a surface or tilted upright. There is also a mounting port on the bottom to mount the speaker on a pole. There is no documentation provided in the box. Just an advertisement for the app. The app controls all LG items. It does not contain any instructions for the operation and settings. You can control the volume and lighting style along with DJ mode or Karaoke mode. On the upper back under the LG logo is the Aux in jack along with a microphone in jack. There are also buttons for the guitar and reset. There is also a USB type-A jack. On the bottom is the battery removal area and a power cable plug. The user buttons are located on the top of the speaker. Power on/off volume up/down light function and EQ button. There is also a Bluetooth button and a button with three circles. Now for the good stuff. The speaker is tuned by LG’s Experiential Architect will.i.am. The internal speakers combined with a 6.5-inch woofer and 2.5-inch midrange drivers. The internal battery lasts up to 12 hours. Even if you’re sitting out in your back yard the device brings it all out with you. The sound quality is right there for all to hear. Bluetooth connectivity is easy. The nice thing about this was my spouse wanted to hook up to the speaker while I was already hooked up, and it asked my permission through the app. This Stage 301 speaker is a must own.

This wedge style monitor is incredible. What I love about it: Bluetooth connectivity mic/guitar/instrument/mixer input to the led light show Speaker stand capable Use the battery or plug it in Stylish Sound (Plenty of Bass) Built in EQ Presets. Handle for carrying This unit is super easy to use in all modes. Connect via bluetooth, connect via cable. It just works well. It feels very durable without the durable look. I love the response it has with its 6.5" woofer and dual 2.5" midrange drivers. With a possible 12 hour battery, it lasts quite a while unplugged. I love using this as a monitor when playing live out and about. It gives me the ability to adjust its individual volume. It also has a waterproof rating of IPX 4. Because of the versatility of this unit it will be along my side on a regular basis. It will get a ton of use while camping and boating, just an incredible arsenal for my love of music. I may just have to pick up an additional unit, in case my kids grab it. I would recommend this to a friend.

The LG xboom Stage 301 is a dream of a portable speaker that does it all. Definitely loud with plenty of bass for general use. Easy to setup out of the box with a ton more customization in the downloadable mobile phone app. This speaker was designed with musicians in mind, as it is in a wedge style. This is a perfect speaker for any gigs you may have that are tight on space, or not very accessible. Plenty of sound when I hooked my piano up, guitar worked very well also. Hooking everything up only took minutes and we were ready to play! The xboom only has 2 mid drivers in it, so the highs don't cut through as much as they would with studio equipment, but I would still absolutely use this speaker for gigs! Definitely a must have for people that want to bring the party or need a small form factor to gig with! The versatility of this speaker doesn't stop there though, as this is a great device for your backyard BBQ's this summer as well! The sound carries throughout the entire space and sounds amazing across multiple genres of music. At the end of the day this speaker is what you are looking for if you are a musician, and want something that is versatile and sounds great.

I got this with the intention of using it at work for stage performances put on by student choirs. The director plays the keyboard to accompany the choir - we wanted something that would direct the sound towards the choir without overpowering them but still being heard by the audience. We also have students that play very very basic electric and acoustic guitar - this can serve as an amp (in the most basic sense) without putting out so much noise that your ears bleed. A microphone can be attached and it used for boosting voice levels as well. And most of all - lest we forget the most important feature - bluetooth! For sing-alongs you simply pair your phone, computer, or other device with it via bluetooth and enjoy much more sound than the device's speaker alone. I must admit , it's lacking a bit in the bass department, but since booming the fillings out of people's teeth isn't the purpose of the speaker, it does just fine for what it is! Oh yes - RGB - it does have RGB lighting but those can be turned off if you're not wanting to make a spectacle out of the speaker. We're in summer session right now so it hasn't gotten as much use as it would during the regular school year, but it definitely has been put through it's paces and the students will get a LOT of use out of this, both prepping for and during their performances throughout the year!
