We use this router for temporary mobile connections in large convention halls and arenas. It is able to work effectively in the 5GHz spectrum despite many other wireless networks present. Would recommend for home use. The available antennas that match the design do a great job extending range and keeping the connection solid.

it’s a dual-band router that’s actually an AC1900 model with 600Mb/s available on the 2.4GHz band, and 1,300Mb/s available on the 5GHz band for the vast majority of users.
In a very, very specific circumstance one could theoretically get up to 2.6Gb/s on the 5GHz band, but it’s not likely, but I’ll get into that in a bit. The main selling point with this router is that it’s part of the company’s WRT family, which is a bit of a throwback to the olden times when any geek with an ounce of cred was rocking one of its iconic blue/black routers that was able to be modified with open source firmware. Naturally this model carries on that proud tradition despite the Belkin buyout, allowing it to be operated with either OpenWrt or DD-WRT firmware. The basic gist being it’s an open source capable router with next-gen specs including MU-MIMO and the ability to use a double-wide 160MHz channel.

This router works perfect and much faster than the top-of-the-line router it replaced. It does take up more room and looks odd if its placed on its side like a book to give me more room but if I turn the antennas up-side-down; it looks like a big blue crab on my shelf. Am I at 50 words yet? Yes? OK...

Our last router lasted a good 5+ years so this new router cost a bit more than I wanted to pay but it handily outperforms the last router in terms of coverage and speed. Not had it for a long time so can't say if it will last.

I had previously used range extenders with all the minor issues of that. This is a simple solution for a big house. No brainer install. But do give thought about guest access to wifi. Costs more but worth it.

Purchased this router to setup DD-WRT to install a network wide VPN. Worked great, even flashed back to original specs and never had a problem. Great speed, rarely drops or needs reset, easy to use software. Recommend for sure!

Excellent performer. Provides great signal to the majority of my 2 story 4100 square foot house. Router is located in the basement. Parts of the house that are approximately55 feet only receive 10% of the speed but still works.

I bought this router because I had owned a Linksys WRT54G in the past (Dial up days) and was excited for the new WRT line produced by Linksys. The router is connected to my Fiber ONT with a 1 GBPS speed. I only give this router 4 stars instead of 5 because it does lack some customization in the security department. As a gamer, I would like the ability to customize my security outside of port forwarding / triggering and/or placing the PlayStation in the DMZ. If you have issues with your NAT, you may not be able to join friends or communicate through Playstation party chat.
Additionally, I was unable to connect my Nest Connect (which was needed for my door lock) to this router, the Nest Guard had no issues and I used that instead.

I would give it 5 stars, but it has some issues. It will drop the internet connection every now and then. It looks like it maybe a firmware issue. Adjusting the settings reduces this. Wireless coverage is great, and speed is better than my previous router. If Linksys fixes the firmware, this will be a fantastic router.
