Took a bit to get it setup but nothing really difficult. Having the dual channels helps keep kids gaming from bogging down the network so it so far is what we needed. Didnt realize how much my older router had deteriorated causing loss of bandwidth. Definelty a good buy..and caught on sale in store. Tri band may be the next option if we begin to overrun these channels.

Sorry, this is the same review I already posted but somehow the website didn't show as a verified purchase... hopefully Best Buy will delete the one that doesn't show I bought it. First, I bought this router because I wanted one with OpenVPN. This router might be good if you only use 5G. The devices I had that could connect to 5G would connect at or close to 100Mbps which is my internet rated speed. When using iOS, 2.4G would only do about 24Mbps; should be 50 to 65 (and is on the three other routers I hooked up). When using two desktops that only had 2G wireless connections the best I could get at anytime was 15 Mbps, most of the time it was between 1 and 5Mbps. Don't want to bore you with all the details; Bottom line is I spent 3 to 4 hours on the line with Linksys tech support making adjustments/changes with no improvement. They even had me update a firmware that the router/website didn't even acknowledge as being the latest update, and It actually made things worse. Online research showed this is not an isolated instance. One professional review even noted a slow down on the 2G band... although nothing like I had. Can't say if mine was a dud or it is a larger problem... I would like to try another given the good reviews but can't take the chance; time to cut my losses, return it and buy a different brand. IMO, if you need/want OpenVPN and all your devices use 5G, it might be worth a try.... If you need/want OpenVPN and have devices that only use 2G; think twice...... If you don't need OpenVPN there are much better products out there at a much better price; buy something else. You would think a big name like Linksys wouldn't have these issues.... but they do!

      Hi, Firedan,

Your experience caught our attention. If the WRT3200ACM is properly configured, both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands should be able to provide fast internet speeds regardless if there are multiple devices connected. We'd be glad if you will share with us your ticket number at [email protected] so we can investigate the workarounds provided so this won't happen again. Indicate the link to this review for reference.

While my home network would not be considered robust or advanced by many, it does have quite a few devices (10-15) consistently connected, and needs a solid base to keep running. This ac3200 is certainly all that, and more. Both literally, and figuratively. From the sheer size and number of antennae, to the unit itself, it simply feels like a solidly and well-built product. It is well-designed, with an easy to read front panel (although not glaringly bright), sturdy metal antennae that attach metal to metal and good ventilation. There is an integrated four port gigabit Ethernet switch, one USB 3.0 port and one eSATA/USB port, as well as a WAN port and a reset button. I like that this router is one that allows the user get into some the fine details of router performance, however, it can just as easily be used by a less tech-savvy individual who simply wants ease of use. Set up is easy, following the prompts, and the ability to monitor and access the router via a smart phone app is greatly appreciated. While the default settings work out of the box, having that ability to fine tune some settings is a nice touch that not all routers provide these days. Further, while I have not done so, the option to turn to a third-party firmware is another bonus that some may be interested in. The router handles all of my devices, easily, both those connected via Ethernet as well as those solely via wireless. Speed has been improved, range has been great and connectivity has been consistent. Be it movies, music, streaming, gaming or data transfer, I have experienced zero lag and I feel I am getting the most out of my ISP plan. Overall, I am completely satisfied with the Linksys ac3200. You can not really ask for more, it is well-built, has connectivity you are looking for, is easy to set up, is easy to use, allows you to fine tune some settings, even to employ third-party firmware and brings rock solid speed, coverage and performance. PROS: - speed - coverage - ease of use - connectivity (4 Ethernet ports, USB....etc) - build quality - ability to customize CONS: - perhaps size, but this is a subjective - perhaps looks, but again, this is subjective
