I was using my providers modem and wifi was bad. I replaced my modem with this and now whole house under wifi survelliance :)

The WRT series routers are marketed as "open source ready", which I suppose isn't a flat out lie, but the drivers to make open source software (DDwrt, OpenWRT, etc) aren't 100% ready, so using anything other than stock firmware is buggy for now. That being said, even with Linksys stock firmware this router is very, very fast, and I get the full download/upload speed from my ISP. The 3200 is a bit of a misnomer as there are no other devices that can use the radar-range frequency it offers, but it should future proof me for a good while.

Pros: - Very very fast wi-fi. Theoretically can go up to 3.2Gbps (600Mbps n + 2.6Gbps ac) - Set-up and management with the default firmware is a breeze. Comes it an adequte default wi-fi network setup out of the box (with Guest Network, etc.) - Linksys Smart WiFi app is quite capable - Very, very good coverage - 4 detachable antennas can be oriented according to need - Looks super cool (from a geeks perspective) - Ability to turn off the lights is a very nice feature (though I think that's standard for most Linksys routers) Cons: - Size is quite big, which may detract some home users - The classic "WRT" color and shape may not be likable for many Overall: I've been using this router for more than a week now, and till now this is the best router I've used. I upgraded from AC1200 capable router, which was quite adequate for my speed, but after using this WRT3200ACM, it's very difficult to go back. The router is very reliable. Speed is quite consistent. No unnecessary restart required yet. I haven't yet tried OpenWRT/DD-WRT yet, but I plan to do so in the near future. If you want a really reliable and fast router for a large home or Home-Office setup with lots of wireless devices, this is definitely for you.

This is my second Linksys router. We live in 3 level townhouse and this router provides great coverage to all 2 floors.

Maximizes the speed to the clients that need them. Parental controls seem not to work consistantly. Still, overall exellent product.

Hardware is good for a device that supports flashing firmware without needing a comp sci degree. Default software advertises the names of the devices on your household so you don't want to run as-is but if you download the OpenWRT open source file from that site you can easily upload it and drastically improve local security over almost every other non-commercial option.

Had this for a few years and the signal never broke up but lost it in a storm this year.

Seems to be more consistent and stronger signal than Asus RT-N66U but less range in the upstairs corner of my house.

Great Range on a large property. Only a 4 star because of the price. Would recommend for small churches, large homes and router enthusiasts.

Huge range and great bandwidth, makes this a must have for families with large house, heavy traffic, or power users.

In store personnel explained how our older unit might be the reason we were having issues. Very glad they did. It has helped.

This router has expanded the range of my WiFi throughout my home. I have not had any issues with the WiFi dropping out.

I had to purchase a new router since my netgear decided to not work anymore the linksys is very user friendly and very reliable
