the answer for wireless gaming and 4K streaming

this router comes from LINKSYS, so you know its good.
But what makes this routers stand out is the features that I was looking for and found all of them in one powerhouse router.
The WRT3200AC comes with 1.8 GHZ dual CPU, 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports, 1 USB/Esata, and 1 USB 3 port, in addition to 4 antennas, a WPS button, a reset button, and most importantly its open source ready!
setting up was a breeze, plugged the Ethernet cable from the modem to the router, configured the SSD and security options and it was ready!!
streaming Netflix on my 65 inch 4K smart TV was instantly better...way better than my previous router, PS4 online gaming was faster (I don't have any wired devices at home and everything is wireless, so this router was a huge step up and it deserves its value).
I also added a shared storage using a standalone hard drive using the USB3 port and multiple users were able to access the drive with ZERO delay.
its worth mentioning that the router supports both 2.4 GHZ and 5 GHZ technologies, but you will need to check if your devices support 5GHZ tech before choosing this option.
in t he box you will get the router, the power adapter, and Ethernet cable, and the quick start guide. Also, you can download the router app to monitor/ manage y our wifi from Google store/ or the apple app store.
The router also supports VPN (PPTP and IPsec pass through) which makes it optimal for small office use as well as homes with a lot of connected devices (we have 5 cell phones, 2 smart Tv's, 4 laptops, and 2 tablets at home, and they are all connected at least 10 hours a day)
the router can be mounted easily to a wall or it can be sitting if you have a place to keep it.
I also have to say that the range of the Wifi signal is Amazing, i am getting great signal in 2000+ square feet space with a lot of walls and previously dead zones.
I am extremely satisfied with this product.

Decided to upgrade my older router so I could take advantage of the 5G band with some of my devices. This router delivers. I do have a semi-weak spot in the farthest away area in my house on a different floor, but I am still able to connect with no drops. Setup was very easy and I have had no problems with the router.

Excellent Router, Easy Setup

The Linksys WRT AC3200 ACM router is a fantastic router. My first impression is that Linksys paid attention to details with this one, even starting with the packaging and designing a product that will work well for casual and power users alike.
The router is perhaps a little on the large side, but that is to be expected with this type of device. I did have a tiny bit of difficulty screwing the antennas on...you have to have the threads exactly lined up and it took a few attempts with a couple of the antennas. Be careful not to force the antennas on and risk stripping the threads.
The highlight for me is that the setup was stupid simple. Honestly, I was expecting to have to spend an hour or more just getting the network set up properly how I like it. The router boots up quicker than other routers I have had and upon connecting to the wireless network I was presented with a browser setup page that walked me through setup in about 3min.
One feature I like is the parental controls. It allows you to enable or block internet access on hourly blocks on individual devices. That is an important feature for me with two younger children who love their devices.
I've had the router for a week and so far I have had no performance problems. I am utilizing all 4 Ethernet ports, and have about 8 other wireless devices connected to the router. Several family members stream video wirelessly and over Ethernet (PC digital recorder to smart TV) without any issues. I am glad to say that the 5ghz band has been very stable and does not drop out occasionally like my old router did. Range is very good. I have a strong signal out in a backyard shed 75 yards away from the router.
This is an excellent router that I highly recommend.

Bought this router to replace an aging wifi router. Very happy with this purchase. I've had this router for several months and the performance has been very good. I have very good signal throughout the house and front/backyards. Speed has been good. Would definitely purchase again. Easy setup.

After convincing an employee I did not want to spend upwards of $500 on a mesh system I settled on this router and I'm glad I did because it is fast, and provides reliable coverage throughout our whole home. It was also easy to install and manage.

At first I was hesitant on spending $240 for a wireless router. But when my brother got me a $100 gift card to BestBuy for xmas I knew I had to get a new router with it.
My last router was a Netgear WNDR3400 and my house seemed to exceed the limitations of it (1 babycam, 5 cell phones, 3 streaming devices/ 1 chromecast, 3 laptops, VOIP, and a desktop)
the breaking point for me is when I started getting stuttering when playing on Battlenet when tv's were also streaming video.
But, now I'm having no issues when connected to the Linksys WRT3200; Before my amazon fire tv stick would lag, but now its almost as fast as my amazon fire tv. I'm actually able to get 100+ mbps via comcast; before I wouldn't even be able to get 70 mbps over wireless N.
I've owned this router for the past couple days and I'm thoroughly impressed. fairly easy to setup (15min or less).

I have had several routers but this has been the best of all. It is fast in both bands and their range is very good. My home has concrete walls and the signal covers up to my backyard. I'm very pleased with their performance.

The WRT3200ACM provides excellent coverage and plenty of bandwidth to connect and stream to all of the devices on the first and second floors of our home. The setup is straight forward and simple following the included user manual. My current network wireless see considerable internet speed even on the second floor master bedroom. I am able to stream movies and videos around the network without any issues. As for connectivity, it has 4 detachable external antennas, 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports for LAN and Gigabit Ethernet port for WAN. Also included are several USB 3.0 ports and one eSATA hard drives connect to the network at maximum speed. Finally, I like the fact that the router is equipped with openWRT and DD-WRT firmwares open source that allows custom software installment that transcends manufacturer's provision

Short Answer:
Linksys WRT AC3200 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi router is great for range and has a app you can download on your phone for easy control. I find it lacking when it comes to signal strength giving me in my experience only a third of what my internet provider supports.
Long Answer:
When I brought the Linksys WRT AC3200 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi router home with me my first impressions is quality and BIG! The box has a lot of subtle signs of quality when opening the box to the router which is about half of it's size. The box included the main router, four antenna connectors, a power brick, a cd containing documentation of the router and finally a quick setup guide which I found to be the most helpful.
Once you have connected everything properly and begin the setup is where you could have it be really easy or go difficult on you. I originally tried to setup the router with just my Tablet but as you can see from the pictures I've uploaded there was a point to where it would just load and load and load. To be fair it could have been my tablet or any other number of things but once I pulled out my phone and tried again it worked like a charm. Safe bet is have two devices around you for setup purposes. The on screen instructions are very easy only giving a Option A or Option B kind of feel making the experience very enjoyable. I also really enjoyed the connected app which allowed me to have control of my router and it's setup and understanding the app I found to be easy and I'd be surprised if you needed any help but if you do Linksys does have a number for you to call which I appreciated but did not use.
This is where the rating gets affected which is the routers overall performance. Stated above the overall range of unit is extremely strong. I found myself being able to drive 2-3 houses away still connected to my Home's WIFI. The overall speed was good not great as my home I pay for a speed of over 150gbs. You of course should not get that as you always lose a little in translation but on previous units getting 100gbs was not unheard of. With the Linksys WRT AC3200 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi router I noticed that I would get 100gbs if I was physically connected but WIFI would dip down to the 50 to 60's. For most this might be enough and an argument can be said that the strength or range of the unit being so strong is more important but for my needs speed will always be my go to.
Thank you for reading my review and I hope it helped you.

Easy Setup and Reliable gear

I have owned Linksys equipment for a very long time, the gear is reliable and rich in features. The WRT3200ACM was a quick easy setup. My household has not had any connection issues, and i run speed tests multiple times a day, i receive very reliable results each test. The device puts off some heat, but the body is well ventilated so this is not an issue. The only issue is the settings, i would like to be able to access more advanced settings, but open source DD-WRT firmware is very easy to install if desired.

Wow, The router practically set it self up. Plugged in, connected and turned on. My PC automatically went into the UI set up screen. I chose to use the same device access Password from my previous router and all my devices (12) were automatically connected. It took approx. 5 minutes. The Linksys range extender auto connected as well. I immediately noticed faster relay times with the 1.8GHz processor. I was very disappointed with the length of the power cord. I had to rearrange the position of where the router would normally be to bring it closer to the power outlet. The plug end is very large and makes it difficult when plugging into a power strip. I did not have this problem with a previous Linksys router. It is still a very good router.

I got this router recently and was able to get it up and running in 10 minutes. Configuration screens are very intuitive and was able to setup my options very quickly. Speed and range are very good. I was able to test this router in DHCP and Bridge modes and both were operating without a hitch. I really like that this router includes features that help future proof it like 160 MHz and DFS channels. So far, no complaints whatsoever. It just works!

When the Cox Cable guy showed up at my house to hook up my internet and DVR cable, he was pretty impressed to see this router on my tv stand. I've had no problems with it, and it has worked perfectly! I usually try to write some cons, but I really can't think of anything wrong with this thing. I mean, I'm sure there's gotta be something, but I've had it for maybe 6 months now and it's been a fantastic router. I really like the Linksys app as well (see the photo below). l can make adjustments to my router at home anywhere I have an internet connection. You can change the order of devices and that's about all I've really used it for. I have a 1600 sq. ft. house and this router covers the entire house plus into my driveway and backyard. My last router (AT&T stock router) reached the house but not the driveway and backyard.
I guess one con is that it's big so I didn't really have a great place to put it. You can see it's just sitting on top of our little entertainment stand.

I purchased this router to replace a less expensive one that just couldn’t keep up with the demand of our devices. So far it has lived up to its expectations and hasn’t let me down. Speed seems consistent and I haven’t had to restart. Setup was a breeze and I really like the maintenance interface options including limiting the number of guests that can be on your network. Hope this one lasts for a long time.

I bought this router for business that has been having trouble with internet speed and connectivity due to our recent technology updates in offices. Long review for a great product (mostly because this is a very new product)...
So I was shopping around for a new router to replace my fully functional and satisfactory current router (Linksys E2500 N600 Dual-band Router). The main reason I was looking for a new router was mainly due to the increasing number of devices that are being connected simultaneously in my household. My price range was $200 and I was not really looking to exceed that. While in Best Buy, I was looking on Linksys' website to see what products they had available (and to price-match obviously) and saw some new products that really caught my eye. There were a few terms that caught my eye since I had never heard of or seen them before...MU-MIMO and tri-band. I am fairly tech savvy and also do my own home networking so these terms definitely piqued my interest. Doing some quick mobile research, I was convinced that these new advances in technology (dual-band to tri-band capacity, increased speed, and MU-MIMO [technology that greatly enhances the routers ability to handle multiple devices very efficiently at once]) were worth some money! It just so happened Linksys had this product at a small markdown to $250. Best part was, it wasn't even available on Amazon yet which was shocking to me.
Now on to performance. All those terms I mentioned above showed their performance, more so than I could have ever imagined! As mentioned before, my household has a lot of devices connected at the same time, and many of these devices are streaming devices. Some causes for my urge to buy a new router were noticeable increased latency when too many (2-3+) streaming devices were running at the same time. Another problem I had that always bugged me was my Chromecast and the lag time I experienced when casting my device (PC related only, mobile to Cast was always fine).
After installing the Linksys WRT3200ACM, I quickly had it put to the test. My parents were downstairs streaming a show on Roku, which alone used to slow down the network. I noticed no slow-down at all. Then while they were streaming, I decided to start streaming Netflix through my PS4. Still no decrease in WiFi performance. Then I loaded up Youtube on my PC and cast my SCREEN (which is significantly more heavy in network usage than just a tab) to my TV. WIth all this running at the same time, I noticed an almost unnoticeable lag from real-time to cast-time!
Taking into account that I had 16 devices connected to the router at the time (knowledge I gained after installing the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi App <--awesome), I would definitely say this router goes above and beyond and I don't know if I could put it through any reasonably realistic amount of stress that would cause this router to falter.
P.S. I also stream video games live via online services (Twitch, Youtube, etc.) which always uses a large amount of bandwidth. I was able to increase my streaming bitrate and also noticed a large decrease in broadcast lag time (about 2 seconds compared to a previous 12 seconds), while having 2 other streaming devices running at once.
THIS ROUTER HAS 10 THUMBS UP FROM ME! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AND WORTH EVERY PENNY!

Upgraded mu ISP and was supposed to be getting 600 / 50 for my speeds but every speed test we ran was coming in half of that. Called their tech services who came out tested the wire and confirmed we should be getting the speeds we were paying for. Did some research and found the router I was using, my Netgear Nighthawk X6 AC3200, was the issue. Called their tech support and after over an hour on the line still no improvement.
Decided to pick up the Linksys after reading some reviews and doing some research and what a change. Now I am regularly getting speeds of 580-600 down and 40-50 up. Set-up is fast and easy with customizable controls. Range is good for our home with covered from the basement to the 2nd story.

I have used more than 50 different routers over the years and this is an excellent choice. I used the Apple Airport Extreme's for a couple of years and this one has noticeably better speed (throughput) and greater range. It has much better speed than the Nighthawk (look at the specs - It's basically twice the processing speed and memory of the NIghthawk). Very easy to set up. Also very easy to open ports for things like security camera's etc. Typically I can have one setup from scratch and "tuned" for best performance to the location in about 15-20 minutes. The only thing I have found that has better range (without going to some REALLY expensive commercial product) is the larger model Linksys. I will be using these until something better comes out.

Picked this up to help mitigate a 1 GBps Comcast internet connection. Consistently get 935 -985 MBps over Ethernet and about 500-600 MBps wireless at 5Ghz. Set up is easy. I have 2.4 GHz turned off and only 5 GHz running for wireless this router gets all areas of my house with the furthest room away with 5 walls between still gets at least 2 bars.
DHCP reservations are very hard to lock down and not intuitive. Trying to get to the setup page via up on a mobile phone requires an app and signing up for some Linksys service. Just use a laptop and a browser. Been using it for a month and no issues.
