I bought this after a long, long research. I bought it because of pro reviews and customer ones. I had it 1 day and my internet provider had issues with a line. Long story short-I cancelled the provider and went to another. 3 weeks later I get everything hooked up. It was amazing on both products-provider and router. My old router I used an extender so I went to get a top of the line extender from Netgear. Big mistake. So, I took the extender back and did tests on router. Omg....I should have done the tests before buying extender because I was amazed. All the reviews on this router were accurate. The speeds were amazing on all levels. The distance is phenomenal. I have a 3700 sq.ft. house and the router reaches outside the house. Awesome router. My house is 2 story so it was always chancy even with the old extender, but not now. I am just so happy, especially since it's saved me $200 by not needing an extender. It's a great router and I'm glad I spent the money for it. Wow.

    Known Issue Drops Internet

Research yourself. AC3200 drops internet connection repeatedly. I bought the best, so I thought. I depend on internet for work. The router constantly, intermittently drops connection to cable modem. Very difficult to get it back. Rebooting, turning off, no tricks to get it to reconnect. Wireless is great and active as is the network. However, holding a stable internet connection is flawed. Latest firmware does not fix either. Google the router. Mine is 7 months old and will lose internet connection 5-10 times a day just in AM. And it doesn't just come back. This has happened with 2 different modems. New modems. I bought the 2nd modem only to discover it's the router. Linksys knows this but there is no fix to date. Again, Google the modem and you will find hundreds of complaints about this. Wish I knew before buying. NOW THE FIX: I broke down and flashed DD-WRT firmware, replacing Linksys firmware. It has worked flawlessly since. Never loses internet connection. GOOD LUCK.

Blazing Fast OS/Processor, Connection Not Fastest

This AC3200, paired with the brand new Arris Docsis modem, resulted in Speedtest results with about 5/6's the bandwidth, and approximately 10ms more latency than the integrated Netgear Cable Modem/Router. Now, this could be the Arris, but I've seen similar rankings elsewhere that put the Netgear combo faster. So, we are entirely splitting hairs, but for people that pay attention to the bleeding edge, the Netgear combo may be faster. However, AC3200 had better coverage, a faster GUI/OS, faster file sharing, and was easier to configure and use. I had fewer routing issues also between devices (mDNS seems to be more glitchy on the Netgear). For us, the integrated Netgear Cable Modem/Router won out, but AC3200 is a solid option for people that aren't tracking their latency to the tens of milliseconds. I would have loved to try out DD-WRT on the AC3200 too.

It was time to upgrade my old router, and this one looked like a good replacement. So far, it's been a very good router and provides excellent coverage throughout my house. Setup was easy, logging into the LinkSys routers via your browser provides an easy way to move about the various menus. If you've had LinkSys before, you'll know how to find anything you're looking for. And if this is your first one, it's about the same as any other router system. This router provides 2 activity lights, one for 5Ghz and one for 2.4Ghz, kind of nice. While not the newest router out there, it's tried and true and should provide you great coverage.

Best open source dual band router!

I've been a Netgear products fan for years, my 4.5+ years old 1st gen dual bands router gone bad, then I continue to buy their latest dual bands router but not much of luck getting my home security cameras port forward! I believe it's the unit defected so I return it and exchange for this open source dual bands wifi router. I liked Netgear's router menu interface because it's easy to understand and manage, but the Linksys is even more simpler and robust. I had my router up and running in less than 10 minutes. I was able to port forward my home security cameras and the 5 GHZ WIFI is much much better than the Netgear in terms of range and connection speed, I walk across the street and I still have full download speed and full bit rate. My family members are now able to stream Youtube on PC and talbets without ANY slowness. I say this the best $200+ I spent for an easy equipment upgrade. I highly recommend this Linksys router.

Best thing I can say about this router is the strength of its signal. I have the same internet service at my house and my mom's house. At moms, we have a cheaper router. It does the job we need it to do fine. Once you get a room or two away from it, the signal drops. Now with this one at my house, I use the same level of internet service, but with this router, I get full strength service throughout my whole house, and can even get usable service outside. It gives me more value out of the internet service I pay for, therefore I highly recommend if you want to use the internet outside of a 30 ft radius.

Very fast. Good range in a large house. Will stream video to 5 or more devices at one time with no drop outs. Replaced an older WRT router and this one has much better all around performance.

Unless you require more speed or functionality then there is no reason not to buy this. Linksys has provided solid products throughout the time I've owned them. Netgear and Belkins have also been decent but my Linksys seems to always deliver on par with the performance of my internet. The bonus features of custom firmware, usb device functions and decent consumer branded security features make this a great all around router at a solid price. The problem with routers is most consumers don't identify the value and prices of different brands/models but when you read up on this you will find that Linksys has a few legs up and that extra few bucks will be worth it. If not then feel free to make use of the Best Buy exchange/return policy although I doubt you'll have any issues.

I was having issues with a entry level Netgear AC router in my home. Finally decided, due to the amount of traffic, to purchase a better router. However, since Linksys was purchased by Belkin, I've been a bit hesitant to give it a try. Due to specs and price, we settled on this guy and I'm pleasantly surprised. The set up was straight forward and intuitive. All my networking needs (port forwarding, DDNS set up , Static DHCP configuration, etc.) just worked first time. The next Pro, is the Linksys mobile app for Android. It allows for local and remote access to the router for configuration changes, network diagnostics, etc, on the go! Performance wise, we instantly saw an improvement in streaming quality. My Vizio TV and Nvidia Shield are handling streaming 4K content with no issues. I must say I would recommend Linksys to any one after my experience!

This router was easy to set up. It initially didn't work with my internet service provider's modem but the setup took me through the process of getting it to sync. It was easy to set my on logon and SSID names and password. It was easy to connect devices. I can manage the router and network from a computer or my Android phone. All my 20 + devices work great on it.

I recently upgrade my nighthawk ac1900 to this router when i bought my new house. Our new house is 4 stories and 2600 square feet. Perfect signal everywhere, and enough bandwidth to stream on 2 TVs and play games online on 2 other consoles. You can even prioritize TVs/Consols via the app.

I've had this router for close to a month. It's replacing my old Linksys N router, which started started acting up after about 9 years. I was dreading the set up because I have Uverse and I have to set it up as a router behind a router. But wow. Set up was a breeze after popping into Bridge Mode. Now I'm enjoying AC speeds pretty much everywhere in the house.

I originally purchased the Netgear X6, and it worked very well...for laptops. All of our cellphones had serious issues, so I took it back and got this Linksys. The blue box gave me nostalgic warm-fuzzies of a simpler time with the little WRT-54G would just work right out of the box - everytime. So, I had a high expectation of reliability. So far, my expectations have been met overall. I had one really angry moment trying to login to setup, only to find that login (even though I was local) was cloud-based...and their server was down. After refreshing the page a million times, I was prompted with a "local login" message & button that was NOT there all of the other times. This worked fine, and I went on with my life. No connectivity issues, like with the Netgear...and it's nice and fast. We have streaming devices in every room plus laptops and phones and it all works great. No worries.

We had a Linksys AC1750 for 2 years. Though the house is only 2,000 sq. ft. there were problems because of materials used in construction necessitating a range extender at the far end of the house. We decided to upgrade when the WRT3200ACM was on sale. We are impressed with the range that covers the house. Though the signal is fair at the far end of the house, we decided to keep the Linksys AC1200 extender. The WRT3200ACM was easy to set up and connect our devices. The only problem arose when for some reason we could not connect with the new password which was denied after many resets. With the assistance of Linksys Tech support, the problem was solved by resetting the password within the Smart local access and not through the web Linksys site. This is a good router, worth the money, and love the Linksys Smart. interface
