The Ultimate Cheap Gaming Mouse Review

If you’re in the market for an entry-level gaming mouse, look no further, this is the mouse for you. Trust me. Whether for you or someone else you can’t go wrong with this mouse. I decided to create a huge review guide for people like me who just absolutely need to see detailed reviews before they pull the trigger on the product. Below is a pros and cons list and below that is a detailed paragraph about this mouse if you’re a reader :-) Pros - RGB Lighting (And not some solid color BS, like 12.8 million colors breathing effects type of stuff) - Depressed Area Left and Right click, helps keep your grip on the mouse (picture for example) - Smooth design and texture great for claw holders - 8000 dpi sensor with ability to change in increments of 50 (7950, etc.) - DPI Button with up to 4 on-the-fly dpi changes (also can be programmed to a key) - 2 custom buttons both on the inside of the mouse (more on that below) Meh (Opinion) - No Braided Cable (they fray) Cons - Worst scroll wheel I have ever seen in my life* (UPDATE: Scroll wheel is actually VERY good for games if you use it to switch weapons/items if because the notches are there to stop you from saying, switching 1 too much, otherwise, the scroll wheel is pretty meh because it just FEELS clunky) - Cable is a tad bit short The G203 Prodigy is hands down the best gaming mouse at this price point. The RGB lighting alone makes this mouse worth it considering the price point because a lot of good quality mice out there comprise the RGB lighting for functionality. Logitech did not compromise on this AT ALL boasting a full 16.8 million colors with color effects such as breathing and fading into other colors, much more than the old bs “RGB mice” that just have 1 solid color with an on and off switch (*cough Steelseries cough*). All you have to do is download the software from the website by searching “G203 Prodigy Software” and you’re good. Moving on, the dips in the mouse on the left and right clicks are amazing. It helps you keep your fingers gripped on the mouse when you click and move it around. After I used this mouse because my old gaming mouse without that feature shorted out, I just couldn’t go back. Must have on any gaming mice IMO, even if you don’t get this one. Additionally this mouse has a pretty smooth design and decent texture for your hands, I’ve had some that have felt better but not bad. The 8000 DPI sensor is also extremely good at this price point, it’s very accurate, and can be adjusted in increments of 50 (I know this sounds stupid but some mice don’t even have this precision, the Steelseries Kana v2 I had before only adjusted in increments of 400 which is absolutely terrible btw, don’t buy that mouse) which is huge. There’s also a DPI button and 2 custom mappable buttons which is pretty standard. This mouse has a rubber cable which I like but some people like braided ones (they look nice but are meh). Every mouse isn’t perfect though but this one comes pretty close. The only big problem with this mouse is the GOD AWFUL scroll wheel* (Update on this above, this depends on the genre of games you are playing) If you use the scroll wheel regularly, this is a HUGE drawback. Scrolling is somewhat clunky and the texture feels very uncomfortable so if you are a person using their scroll wheel every 5 minutes, I would have to tell you this may not be the mouse for you. Luckily I don’t use the scroll wheel that much. Lastly is the cable is a tad short but will be fine for 99% of you as long as you’re by your computer at a reasonable distance. I hope this helps you guys make a great choice on the mouse to get, I would highly recommend you to grab this mouse if you haven’t already. See you on the battlefield!

I'm not a fan of mice with weird shapes and numerous programmable buttons. Personally, I find that the odd shape and buttons get in my way more than they help. I know many people like the odd shaped mice with numerous buttons but I don't. This mouse has the normal round contoured shape and fits the hand perfectly. It also has good grip during intense gaming although I wish it were a tad heavier. Although it's not one of those mice that looks like it's about to transform into an Autobot, this mouse does have a few extra buttons and one in particular can constantly get in the way. That would be the DPI adjustment button. It constantly gets in the way whenever I try to use the scroll wheel too quickly. Considering how everything during a game happens very quickly, I was inadvertently hitting the button a lot at first. The button can be modified in the Logitech Gaming software but it's annoying for anyone who wants to get started with the mouse right out of the box. The mouse is fast and precise as expected. It's very accurate during gameplay and I love the tracking. It provides fast pinpoint precision. When desired, DPI can be adjusted on the fly for faster or slower tracking. All buttons are mappable/programmable and there are several gaming profiles already embedded in the software/firmware. The amount of LED lighting on the mouse is perfect. It's visible enough to match the LED illuminated gaming case, keyboard, speakers and mousepad that it shares the desk with but it's also subtle enough to avoid LED overkill. I like LED illuminated rigs but not illuminated to the point of looking like a cheesy casino on the Vegas Strip. All of my peripherals, including this mouse, have minimal LED lighting. So far, I have no complaints with this mouse. It's getting the job done and in enjoyable fashion. The price point is fantastic when it's on sale (usually for half off the MSRP) and I like that it offers the features I want and leaves out what I don't care for. This isn't a wireless mouse but I prefer gaming with a corded mouse for better performance, better reliability and no need to charge or replace batteries for the mouse, lighting or both. I have a ton of cheap wireless mice for desktop duties. In fact, I also use a wireless Bluetooth mouse on the same rig for routine desktop tasks.

Very nice color changing gaming mouse, and is a nice add on for an RGB keyboard or a gaming Laptop with RGB keys. This really is a replacement mouse for my desktop Mac mini computer, as our old one was sticky and worn out, and buttons didnt click. So unboxed and plugged this in, and works nicely. And the cord management helps with the Velcro strap. The lower middle button as I have tested, changes the pointer movement speed; 4 levels and I keep it at 3-4. I don’t game much on my computer as I have a PS4 for that anyway, but I do have the old school Quake 4 game. So as I played with the keyboard and mouse combination, I do see it now how this lower middle button works and helps with gaming for turning speed. I haven’t experimented with the two side buttons on the left, but I definitely know they’re able to be assigned. Though I may be using this mouse for normal use, and not much gaming, yet (maybe when I get a faster power Mac in the future), the multi buttons are a great feature. I think the RGB lighting may contribute well to a color changing screen saver; for instance Flurry on the Mac. And Logitech is a brand that never disappoints, as I have used many keyboards and mice and webcams by them. This by far is an excellent quality brand.

Logitech is my “go-to brand” when I’m shopping for a Mouse – a peripheral that I use all the time on my desktop AND specifically buy for each of my laptops because I really don’t like the touchpads on them. This mouse has the typical, rounded, contoured shape and fits my hand very well. I don’t do a lot of gaming, but it has a good grip while gaming. The feel of the mouse in my hand is excellent and quite comfortable. In operation, it has a very positive tactile response in both mouse buttons and the scroll wheel (which I use a lot). It’s interesting, that it is also clickable! Speaking as someone who spends 10-12 hours a day at a computer, the value of a good, comfortable mouse cannot be over-stated. The mouse is fast and responsive. I like being able to easily adjust the dpi settings from a standard low to high. This is the first Mouse I’ve had that has changeable LED lighting – a cool option. This Mouse has a long cord - not braided – which might be nice if I was playing a game and wanted to “sit back and relax”. But generally, I prefer cordless (or wireless) Mouse so the cord doesn’t clutter my precious desk space. The “plus” for a corded Mouse is that it’s power comes from the computer, so it might give you better performance and it removes the need to continually replace batteries. A Logitech product will never disappoint, as I have purchased many keyboards and mice by them. Always an excellent, high quality brand!

I have been using computer mice for over 30 years, going back to the original Microsoft serial ball mouse and others available at that time through wired optical mice right up to the present day wireless models from HP and Logitech. I have to say that this G Pro Gaming Mouse is the best overall mouse I’ve ever used. It’s a gaming mouse, but it’s a very conventional mouse overall. The feel is excellent in your hand, with very positive tactile response in both the mouse buttons and the scroll wheel, which is also clickable. For someone who spends much of the day at a computer screen, the value of good, comfortable mouse cannot be overstated. The G Pro has “Lightsync RGB Lighting,” which translates to a constantly-changing band of color along the outer rim of the part of the mouse where you rest your hand. It’s decorative at most as it adds nothing to the G Pro’s functionality as a mouse. I highly recommend this mouse if you want one that’s comfortable, fits well in your hand, and is a downright pleasure to click. You won’t be disappointed.

    Best wired gaming mouse

If you don’t mind using a wired mouse, you can’t go wrong with this Logitech – G Pro Wired Optical Gaming Mouse. The design and shape is simple and traditional which makes it very easy to use. The lighting features are pretty cool and can be fine-tuned using the downloadable software including turning the lights off entirely which is what I ended up doing. The software allows you to control many other features and settings which are all actually stored on the mouse’s on-board memory which means the settings will carry-over to any other computer with which the mouse is used, even if that system does not have the Logitech software installed. As far as performance goes, the mouse is very responsive and accurate and the middle dpi button makes switching dpi settings instantaneous which can really come in handy in certain gaming situations. Overall, if your gaming needs do not require you to use a wireless mouse, this Logitech – G Pro Wired Optical Gaming Mouse would be an excellent choice and I highly recommend it!

Listen, I am not a gamer, but am partial to Logitech products. They are always well built, come with utilities and generally bridge the gap between casual user and pro at whatever you use it for. The G PRO Hero gaming mouse fits into that category. It comes with all the buttons you need as a gamer or as a person that just likes some additional configurable functionality. The mouse has RGB configurable lighting or you can just leave it to run through the color gamut (like I did). The mouse fits in my hand well and is ergonomic. Tracking is precise and operates smoothly. Overall it is a mouse, but a significant step up in appearance, functionality and performance over your run of the mill “supplied with your computer” mouse.

Time is money right. So in my case of being a CAD Professional speed is of essence. I currently use the Logitech - G Pro (hero) to achieve the best efficiency as possible by having the mouse set at 16000 DPI (max). I'm no longer moving my mouse all over the place and takes way less time to reach menu commands and screen area compared to standard mice even if you have modified your "pointer options" to "fast". This mouse is almost a full 2x (16000 DPI max) faster than a CAD mouse (8200 DPI max) on the market. It costs less and is also lighter than a previous Logitech G500 (5000 DPI max) that I had been using.

I have had this mouse for a few weeks and it was a very good mouse the new hero sensor is amazing the new cable is very nice compared to the older model G Pro and this has onboard profiles something the older one did not have but would I recommend this one over the older model yes but a very small yes. The sensor and the onboard profiles are something I need in a gaming mouse but for someone who does not care about that then I would say go with the older G Pro or even the G 203 same mouse different sensor also the wireless g 305 another great option.

Another solid product from Logitech. Wired mouse with a nice long cord plenty of space. The RGB lights are a very nice touch and easy to manage with the lightsync software. It's a pretty standard mouse with a nice grip and two side buttons. Also a easy to use dpi push button switch. The dpi settings seem to feel pretty standard from low to high, I prefer the highest setting. I would like to see a wireless option but wired is the way of this mice. If you are looking for a solid wired mouse with rgb I see no reason to not pick this one up.

First thing I noticed is how light the mouse is. Product is designed to be accurate, fast and smooth to use. It’s also durable, can be customized with RGB lightning and personalized control with programmable buttons. This model has a long cord that is not braided. There are no options to use it in wireless mode. Also no rechargeable battery. So a buyer should keep this in mind before purchasing it. It is a next-gen performing mouse designed with and for pro esports athletes.

This is my current in use gaming mouse. Well it's going on over a year now that I've been searching for my ideal competitive gaming mouse that fits my hand...in which I've purchased and used close to 20 different mice all of which are current top picks in the world of online gaming by reputable manufactures. Top notch optical sensor..nice cord material used so movement doesn't ever feel restricted..and so far the best shape and fit for my mitts.

I bought this mouse because I prefer a wired mouse and there just aren't many good ones available. This looked like a feature-rich device at a reasonable price - perfect for use as a productivity device. However, the side buttons - features that might be useful for gamers - are really poorly placed for use in productivity applications. Crazy responses when pushed - and super sensitive. I'm still looking for a good wired productivity mouse. This isn't it.

The Logitech - G Pro Wired Optical Gaming Mouse is a decent mouse for video game use. I got this for my 12 year old son who enjoys playing Fortnight and other various games on his laptop. The usability of the mouse is great and my son says it’s much better than his current mouse. He is left handed, so I wish this was an ambidextrous mouse. He is able to use it ok with his right hand though. Overall, seems to work well. Time will tell if it holds up to a pre-teen’s use.

After using this for a few days I have to say Logitech hit the nail on the head. The mouse feels great in the hand, glides smoothly on the mousepad and has a solid click feel. The software allows you to change the DPI, reassign buttons, create different profiles for sensitivity and customize the RGB characteristics of the mouse. Also to get the full coolness factor out of the RGB, I recommend getting at least one other Lightsync compatible device.

Cannot tell a difference between the new 16k Hero sensor and the prior 3366 sensor. The new cable however is lightyears better. It is very very thin and lightweight. This is definitely not a mouse that needs a paracord. The new buttons feel better and are much quieter to click than the old buttons.

Like LED lighting? like customization? THis is the mouse for you! I decided to pair this with my G513 for additional visual effects - beautiful! The DPI is adjustable for gaming via button on the top of the mouse, with programmable buttons on the side (that default to forward/back for your browser). Add this one to your stable - you'll like it :-)

This mouse, despite being wired, is very light weight at about 80 grams. It is responsive and the shape works great for me. LED is controlled via an Logitech App that is small on a 4k monitor with 150% scaling. The cable is thin, rubber coated and does not interfere with the movement of the mouse.

Gaming mice need to be responsive and this one fits the bill. I don't like mice that have too many buttons or have a larger footprint. This mouse has the functionality needed but in a easy to hold package. I would recommend this mouse for gaming needs.
